A unique beach home with an informal & relaxed atmosphere. Two master suites, cathedral ceilings & hardwood floors, multiple TVs/DVDs/VCRs & a stereo. The upper deck is covered for relaxing in the shade & the lower deck is open for sunning. An outside eating area overlooks the private pool. The grounds are neatly landscaped with beautiful native vegetation. The house sits in a terrific location. Very close to the beach with a nice ocean view. It is also very convienent to the Rec center. I really enjoyed the decor and it is absolutely the best equipped kitchen that I have experienced while renting. Good pots, pans, dishes, silverware blenders, ect. I cook a lot and that is important to my enjoyment.
The only thing that was a small challenge for us was the bed height. The beds were very comfortable just a little high.
Beautiful place, well equipped and very well kept. Would highly recommend!

I want to express how much my family and I enjoyed our stay at Sea Gem! The home was warm and inviting. My children and guests enjoyed the pool after enjoying a full day at the beach.
Our entire family were grateful that our dog, Max, could join us for our vacation as he is truly a part of the family! Thank you for being pet friendly and opening your home to our four legged friends!!
Having the living quarters and kitchen on the first floor was extremely convenient as it saved undesired trips to the 2nd level upon returning to the house. This floorplan also provided peace of mind as I was better able to oversee their activities.
The large front porch and comfortable rocking chairs served as a great retreat! The view of the dolphins playing from this vantage point was an added bonus!

We have been staying on the island in the plantation since 1980 and we have always had a great time. we loved the house except the beds. The beds are way to high. It was hard for me to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I was afraid that I was going to fall off the bed. Other then that the house and pool was wonderful.

Our family of four loved the Sea Gem. It was a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing summer vacation on SGI. The home was well kept and stocked with all of the necessities. Our boys loved the pool and it was a quick walk across the boardwalk to the beach. The Plantation location offered quiet and little traffic to make it feel very private. We have already booked a return trip.

This was my 10 year at SGI. I'm getting older and it's hard to do a lot of stairs. Sea Gem doesn't have an elevator, but the stairs were not a problem because they're wide and there is a lower deck and then another short climb to the front door. The pluses are many! The main living area is on the first floor - right inside the front door. A second master bedroom is on the second floor. The wide open view of the ocean is beautiful. It's dog friendly. The house is cozy in a most comforting way - very cottage like. The lower deck is great for sitting in the sun on cooler, windy days. The high beds take some getting used to, but they make it possible to view the ocean at sunrise without porch railings in the way. And the price is the icing on the cake - very fair for both renter and owner. The kitchen could use more storage space and the TV is hard to view inside the cabinet, but these items not dire problems. The bottom line is a wonderful home for a few people that incorporates the true ambience of this magnificent island.

This was our first time staying in Plantation. The house was perfect for our family of 6. After our very long drive, we arrived at the house which was exactly as the web site described, and more! The house was exceptionally clean and neat.
Our kids enjoyed the private pool and the views of the gulf were breathtaking. Every morning, we would walk the beach picking shells and would watch the dolphins playing and jumping, often very close to shore.
The neighborhood was very nice and quiet. Locals were very friendly and helpful about giving us recommendations on where to eat, shop and sight-see.
We would suggest bringing beach towels along for the pool or playing in the sand. We will be returning to Plantation again this year!
