Huntsville, ALBest Spot on the Gulf Coast
Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Seaclusion is the most peaceful place I've ever visited. My family and I loved every inch of the home. It is truly a home away from home. From the moment we walked in the door, we were relaxed. The decor is wonderful and everything we needed as far as housewares was there. All we had to do was bring in suitcases and food. This was our second time to stay in Seaclusion and we are looking forward to many more.

We all really enjoyed our stay at Seaclusion; plenty of amenities, plenty of room. The house was nicely decorated and very clean. The gulf views were magnificent! So many things to marvel at: the water spouts during an off-shore storm, then the rainbow forming in the east; the dolphins at play in front of the house, seeing my adult children riding the waves in inner tubes, watching my son-in-law catching sharks and a sting ray while he was surf-fishing, lounging under the canopy on the beach. Hearing the surf ebb and flow, then going shelling the next morning. The natural beauty was awesome! One week was not enough!
This was definitely a dream vacation to remember; worth every penny! -

We had a great time with our family, the house was just the right size for all of us. We all enjoyed the location in St. George Plantation, the walks with the dogs and the bike rides around the Plantation were really wonderful. We enjoyed the pool and the two living areas in the home. We also greatly appreciated the kind service we received when we called after we left for home, asking for help locating our son's pillow pet. Everyone was very helpful in finding "George" and letting us know that he would be in the mail. this greatly relieved our son and our selves.

Fantastic Home!
Left on 06/12/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Fourth time to St George Island. This is the third home we have stayed at. The second beachfront home. I cant go back to anything other than beachfront. I have been happy with all of the homes we have stayed at. The two things that are all the same: It must be in the Plantation and have a private pool. And now it must be beachfront. Now on to my review:
The pool was great. Large and had a jacuzzi attached. Best pool yet. Lights worked fine.
The location was the best yet. Very close to the water. Was able to see dolphins playing from balcony.
The home itself was the best quality home we have stayed at. Recently renovated with an awesome master bath. Very clean. Modern. Two large separate living rooms worked out great. We could separate and not fight over the TV. I was worried about the grill after reading some comments. And it did look awful. But we grilled steaks to perfection. Worked like a charm. So I guess looks are not everything. The only thing that I must mention is that the home needs some monthly or weekly pest control. This in no way hurt the vacation. We never woke up with bugs on us. Never saw bugs on food. But ants did get into a camera that was sitting on a dresser. And we did see a few roaches in the home. Not all the time and most were dead but some were alive. Not everyday but...I feel that if there was some regular pest control this wouldnt happen. Again, it was not a big problem. It should be fixed however. I dont really want to see one roach much less more than that. The elevator was wonderful. Made life easier for sure. Overall great home and a wonderful vacation. A bit expensive for high season but we got a great deal from Resort Vacation Properties due to an error on their part. I will not deal with anyone but Resort Vacation Properties. They really took care of us. So lets review:

We enjoyed the property, but had some issues. The pool lights were out and were waiting on parts to repair. The grill was bent to one side and had not had last residue cleaned out. Ants in kitchen area, sand in floor, trash, cans, etc around outside of house and in outside bath/shower. We were not able to check in unit until 6pm. That being said the house was nice, bedrooms good, walkway to beach good, appliances good, and always like inside the plantation better.

The Seaclusion is perfect. Location is great, amenities are great, 5 bedrooms, pool, boardwalk, large kitchen. My family of 11 stayed and had plenty of room. Decor is typical Florida- but overall not guady. This was our second stay at the Seaclusion and hope to come back in the future. In 2008 there were some signs of wear- so some update and refurbishing would be timely. Need the gas grill replaced- but overall house is in good shape. The elevator is a life saver the day you arrive and leave- carrying luggage and groceries etc. Sitting on the 2nd floor deck and watching the dolphins was the highlight.

Beach'n Family
IllinoisBeutiful Home and Beach
Left on 12/15/2009 for a stay in March 2007
We where there in March 2007. This place is a gorgeous, well kept, huge newer home on a wonderful wide beach. I would give it 5 stars if the pool was heated enough and it had a real hot tub (I think they just elected not to heat the "spa"). March is pushing it a bit, but we had decent weather. All in all a wonderful beach home in a nice section of the island, and SO much nicer than the touristy areas.
Some more details:
Plus: Owner is nice to work with. Kids will think the elevator is cool, awesome veranda overlooking the beach, set up well for two families. Beach is great, excellent sand, very rare old mangrove stump so be a little careful. This is a beautiful island but there is not much else beside the beach, which was a plus for us as it is not "touristy". The home is actually in the gated west end of the island which is very nice, bike riding is good as there is little traffic and the beach is uncrowded. "Town" is a mile or so away and is an easy bike ride or can be reached with a pretty long walk down the beach for ice cream, etc. Fun casual restaurants like Harry A's for oysters on the island, authentic little fresh fish and crab sellers across the bridge. Fishing charters nearby. Two decent golf courses within 45mins if they are still there.
Minus: The only real minus was as I mentioned the pool heater was just barely warm enough in March, and it is a cold 'spa' not a hot tub, so no soaking on a cool evening. Bummmer. This would not be a problem in summer however! Don't even think about having a beach fire, they are ridiculous about this. The island is wonderful and not touristy, but the trade off is only a couple golf courses within 45mins. No nicer restaurants, although to be fair we were happiest just cooking out on the grill. Boat rental or just bringing your own might be tough.. only a couple marinas on the whole Apalachicola bay, although if trailering this is less of an issue as there is a gas station on the island. -

Every spring our family retreats to Florida from all over the USA. A couple of years ago we ran across this beautiful home on St. George Island. The home is perfect for our get togther! Well maintained, clean and plenty of room for the 18 family members who showed up! It is a great place for small children, teenagers and babies. We particularly enjoyed the ocean view from all levels of the balcony and watched the dolphins and shrimp boats pass by. Every year we have been blessed with really nice warm and sunny weather with maybe one day of a little rain. What makes this stay even more wonderful? We are very close to Appalachicola and good restaurants for fine dining or grabbing delicious oysters or grouper sandwich. We highly recommend staying at "Seaclusion" for your family getaway.

We had a wonderful week in St. George. The house was beautiful and we especially liked the pool for the kids. The only drawback is how expensive the home is to rent. The rental fees for the homes are quite expensive.

We loved our week in St. George Island! The house was really a great size for our families and having the pool was an added benefit for the kids. The cooktop on the stove didn't work very well so we had some very adventurous nights of cooking. We ate pounds and pounds of oysters - they are not to be missed... make sure you ask about the secret to shucking them! We did miss having a sunset at night since it was behind us and not over the water. There were tons of turtle nests and we even saw some baby turtles that hatched. The dolphins were amazing and gave us many aerial shows, even going so far as to completely leap out of the water on several occassions! Great week and a house that is very well taken care of, except for the cooktop on the stove!
Make sure you get to Eddie Teach's... it has tons of local flavor! -

My husband, three grown daughters, a son-in-law and three grandchildren 4 and under stayed here for 8 days. It was beautiful and peaceful. We love St. George and had stayed there before but this was our first time in seaclusion. I actually found it on VRBO and had great conversations with Jason the owner before booking through Resort Vacations. The pool and the beach were wonderful! It would be better if there was another full bath but we managed. The kitchen was spacious (pots and pans need to be updated however) and we had a great time! We look forward to doing it again in a couple of years - it's expensive to stay oceanfront in St. George but we won't do it any other way in the future!

The pictures of this property do not do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful. We had 3 families staying in one house and it was plenty spacious. I felt like I could get away if I needed to and be together in a large room if needed to. The elevator was a great tool for bringing up luggage and groceries without hitting the stairs up several flights. The pool has a wonderful view of the ocean and was the best of both worlds. I would definately go again.
