i have been renting through resort vacation properties since i started going to st.george island my experience with them has always been excellent. each house i have stayed in has been very clean and well maintained. i have stayed on both beach and bay side and all were great with no worries.i will be renting with them again

This quaint ground level home has all the makings for a great vacation! We will rent this house repeatedly! If you want to relax and enjoy your family and the ocean, this house is the place for you!

Service from RVP was great! The home was rather run-down and needs updating as far as furniture - bedrooms could use lamps and night stands on each side of the beds. Parking, location on the water, and view was great; the large glassed in porch was the best! Loved the mirrors that reflected the water when you looked in them. And - the best of all - it's pet friendly!

We had the most peaceful time here. We come back every year and we will see you in april @ Sea Song. We usually like to stay at a different location each stay for variety! lol. Shangrila is a very nice home away from home. Thank you for being pet friendly!!!

Nothing beats walking out your door and being right on the beach. This rental property looks rought around the edges but overall everything worked and it was comfortable. We will stay here again next year.

Shangrila doesn't look like much from the outside - inside it's great. Lack of carpet makes sand control easy. Large enclosed patio on beach side makes sitting "outside" quite pleasant. There is a large TV in livingroom and a small one in each bedroom.
I was there alone with my dog, but checking it out for a larger family vacation. Dining would be spread out using small kitchen table, counter with stools and table on patio, but that's how my family usually eats anyway so no problem for us.
Blossom loved the beach but was not fond of the outdoor shower. Next time I'll bring a short hose for her. If you bring a dog, be aware there are burrs in the foliage that seemed to leap out and tangle in her hair! I don't know if they are there all year or just in Fall. Walking barefooted would be risky, but sand was clear.
When I had a problem with a sticky lock, maintenance was there in 15 min or less to take care of problem.
I was completely satisfied. I would recommend Shangrila to anyone. -

Approaching Shangrila for the first time we were a little dismayed by the outside appearance, but opened the door to a cozy little nest. The only issues were:
1. plumbing - the water pressure was practically non existent, making a shower a 30 minute ordeal.
2. Every dish in the house was filthy! Pitchers were stored away still containing liquid dregs of iced tea,& a few pots were beyond redemption & could not be used!
3. Boardwalk to beach had no hand rail & the stairs were steep & treacherous - we had to walk on the dunes.

This was our first time to rent on St. George and with Resort Vacation Properties - both the island and the company were GREAT!. Check in/out was super simple - no problems....the island is uncrowded and perfect for a relaxing beach get-away.
Shangrila is just as the Resort Vacation web site describes it - a basic beach house - nothing fancy - our only caution would be that the showers are extremely small/short.....other than that it was a great value -
Liked best - LOCATION -LOCATION - LOCATION! Right on the beach - few steps to sand
NEEDS ATTENTION - the house itself could use some TLC - boardwalk to beach needed a bit of repair - and the furniture inside could use a little updating - but again - great value - comfortable house.

My favorite place in the entire world...St. George Island, and Shangrila was the perfect getaway. The house has a rustic beachlike feel with wood panneled walls, resourceful kitchen, big living area and a beautiful porch that overlooks the ocean. I can close my eyes and drift back to that relaxing get-away. Resort Properties made it so easy; everything was done on-line. We just drive to the house and moved in....I can't wait until our next visit!!

All the comforts without the worry. Open, airy rooms with tiled floors are perfect for lounging and no worries about spills. Protected porch made meals al dente without the sand and wind; serene views and stunning sunsets.

My family enjoyed the stay even though the rental was rather rough around the edges, so to speak. The shower was so tiny I could hardly wash my hair. It wasn't a fancy place by any means but was clean and we could walk out the back door and be at the beach.

The location of this property is excellent. There are many windows that allow the sunlight and view of the water in to the house. However, the house is in need of serious updating; the bathrooms in particular. With an infant in tow, we were not very comfortable with the house.

Shangrila was very 'renter friendly' including easy access to the beach, an enclosed porch the width of the house as well as a deck to watch the waves, and a very open design that invites a feeling of relaxation...really a comfortable house. The one thing I would recommend is that the furniture in the living room be replaced...it was somewhat worn out. Other than that, all was very pleasing about it!

The cottage was comfortable for my husband, me and our two dogs. We wished the screens for the enclosed porch had all been intack, as we would have let fresh air in in the evenings and would have liked to listen to the surf. The shower stalls were a bit small, but everything else was fantastic.
Being directly on the beach was priceless.
We definately decided we would return to Shangrila.
