Sunset Breeze is a well appointed house in a great location across from the beach and close to a boardwalk. Resort Vacation Properties was very accommodating when I arrived at bit early with my grandchildren. They were also easy to deal with and professional when making the reservation. The kitchen was well equipped which was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. My one disappointment was that the kitchen stove was not working properly.

This is a very comfortable house with an excellent view of the ocean. We loved the great room with all the windows and the front porch where we spent most evenings enjoying the breeze. The pool was lovely; a good size and well kept. The only negative was that there was only 1 bathroom on the main floor but it was managable.
We love St George Island. It is our 3rd visit and we will definity come back even though it is a 15 hour drive to get there. Each time we come we discover new places to eat & things to do.
In appalach, Captain Charles will take you out fishing - we caught 39 fish the last day including 3 reds and a big flounder!
Lots of great shops & restaurants in appalach also. -

We travel with multiple family members who vacation together on St. George in multiple homes. Sunset Breeze allowed us to be a gathering spot as the living area and eating area was open enough to accomodate a large group. The screened in porch got extra duty the week we vacationed due to the rain throughout the week--the porch was a wonderful asset.
Downstairs living spot was a perfect hang out for the teenage crowd and the upstairs was comfortable for the adults.

The home was badly in need of repairs. The deck seemed quite old and appeared to be unsafe. Pool was nice but very small. The place was clean but you could tell it has had no upgrades since it was built and is getty quite worn looking.

House in a great location on the island. Can tell it was a great property back in its day. Certainly spacious inside but the kitchen had much to be desired. Housewares old & rusty; fridge not clean; found out after trying to use the oven that cleaner was not wiped out. Disappointed as we counted on cooking several meals to save $ but didn't want to use the pots/pans. Couches very dusty (but looked nice). This would be an excellent property again with some TLC! While we would not stay at this property again will definitely book with Resort Vacation Properties again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here...rooms were large, well furnished. Open concept kitchen/dining/living area with vault ceiling was beautiful and bright. Initial cleanliness was poor and we had to spruce it up (every room)....
The big deck in front has not seen an upgrade or any TLC for a long time. Our only complaint would be poor maintenance at the outset...the cleaning was done by us and after that things were fine.Response from Resort Vacation Properties of St. George Island - 04/21/2010

Cartersville, GAgreat home needs some outside repairs
Left on 06/29/2009 for a stay in June 2009
THE GOOD:
the view of the beach and the location was great. you could actually see your kids at the beach from the porch. The house was under rated for how many could sleep there. We worried about having 8 with the number of beds. There were two sleeper sofas in the living room that we didnt know about.
The boardwalk was directly across the street and the screened room helped keep bugs away.
THE BAD:
the park style grill broke during our visit and several of the decking boards on the walkway at the bottom of the steps were not secured and flipped up when you stepped on them. The pool was a bonus but it was very small.
OVERALL:
would recommend it and would stay there again. -

Tallahassee, FloridaVery disappointing
Left on 02/12/2009 for a stay in July 2008
I stayed in this house many times when my ex-boyfriend's family owned it. It was a beautiful house and was very well kept up. I was very disappointed in the way that it has been neglected. There was no privacy downstairs whatsover because all of the blinds were broken and we had to put up sheets which would not stay up. The shower downstairs was broken. The outside shower (which was something I had always enjoyed) did not work so we were unable to use it. I would definitely not rent this house again in the condition it was in when we stayed there last year.

Ms. Livings,
It is discouraging for us to hear about your disappointment with Sunset Breeze. The good news is that the owner has made many upgrades since your stay in addition to the repairs that were needed.
1. The broken blinds downstairs have been removed and replaced with lovely tab-top drapes that match the brand new decor in the bedroom. The beds and bedding were replaced and the walls were painted a vibrant, coordinating color.
2. All of the shower fixtures were replaced. In fact, all of the bathrooms have been renovated since your stay. There is new paint, new vanities, new light fixtures and as I mentioned, new shower fixtures. They look really nice.
3. We do not have anything in our files about the shower not working except that the latch on it was broken and it has been fixed.
We hope these improvements will help you choose to rent Sunset Breeze again soon. It is a wonderful home in a great location and we are appreciative to learn what we can do to make it even better. -

The issues we had are following:
1. Did not have a shield by the grill so we could not use it at all.
2. Pool was not cleaned before we checked in and did not have a lock on the door to protect our grandchild.
3. the deck & porch had spinters and nails coming up so my husband hammered some down.
4. the security latch on the entry door was broke.
5. Light burned out in main hall up steps so it was difficult at night.
6. It was odd there was no TV in the master bedroom.Response from Resort Vacation Properties of St. George Island - 03/06/2009

Mr. and Mrs. Sims,
We appreciate the time you made to respond to our inquiry about your stay at Sunset Breeze. We researchd your concerns and this is what we found:
1. Unfortunately, we are unfamiliar with a shield for the grill. I spoke with our Maintenance Department and they said that we have never installed one at any of the properties we manage. This is an interesting tip and we appreciate it.
2. We apologize for the condition of the pool. After your stay, the owner authorized us to change pool cleaners and it is being cleaned twice a week and fortunately, we have not heard of any other problems. With regards to the lock, all of our homes have combination locks installed and we have found that sometimes they go missing. Our notes do not reflect that this was reported but we have addressed this.
3. We apologize that your husband had to take time out of his vacation to hammer nails. Please remember that at any time, our maintenance department is available to handle all repairs that arise during your stay. The owner has replaced many of the boards on the deck and now it is in much better condition.
4. Again, it doesn't seem that this maintanence issue is noted in our files and we are addressing it.
5. Our notes show that this was reported by a later guest and the bulbs were changed immediately.
6. The owner has elected not to install a TV at this time.
We do apologize for the incoveniences you experienced at Sunset Breeze. We work hard to ensure that our guests experience a relaxing and stress-free escape to the Island. We hope that you will visit us again and we will always be available to assist you with any concerns you have about your vacation home. -

We liked the pool, we loved the porch...the fact that there was no bathtub was inconvenient. Our son and family stayed downstairs and complained of spiders...had that been me down there, I wouldn't have stayed past the first spider. The faucets in the showers left a little to be desired....Location was great...no problem with that....the roominess was good also. so just minor things...didn't spoil the trip at all...mary

Ms. Mary,
We can't imagine having to worry about spiders on vacation and we are sorry that you did. The home receives a pest control treatment each month and we are grateful that there are no reports about similar incidents. As mentioned in a previous response, the bathrooms have been completely renovated, especially the shower fixtures.
We thank you for your willingness to comment on Sunset Breeze and we hope you will return soon. -

We enjoyed our week at Sunset Breeze, but I'm not sure we'll stay
there again. We had 3 adults and 5 older children, which was fine.
The location is wonderful-- right across the street from the beach
with a boardwalk to cross the dunes. The house has a terrific front
porch and a side screened-in porch, both of which we loved. The
living area is also very nice. The kitchen was fine, though not
great. Bathrooms were very dated and could use some
remodeling. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom definitely
needed improvement. Some of the kids (11 and older) didn't want
to stay down there.
We have rented several homes on St George Island, ranging from
fancy to funky and we always have a great time. I tend to spend
most of my day at the beach, and I loved having dinner on the
picnic table in the screened porch, so I was happy with Sunset
Breeze. The teenagers were under-impressed. Last year the house
was on the market for sale, so this may be why it hasn't been
updated. For the price, I was surprised that it wasn't in a little
better shape.
