This was our tenth vacation trip to St. George Island for me and my sister, our husbands, children and grandchildren. We have stayed in a different house each year and this was the best one. We have a large family so having several living areas was great.We loved being right on the beach. We really enjoyed have the two ice machines because we never had to buy ice. It was convenient to have the elevator to carry up luggage and groceries. Having the two master bedrooms on the top floor allowed the older folks to have quiet and privacy. The only complaint was that the water in the hot tub was never hot but it was not really a problem for the last week of July.

There were 14 of us and we had the time of our lives. The weather was great. Being so close to the beach was a dream come true for all of us.

The house was a great match for our family.
The weather was fantastic.
Minor problems with one toilet, one bathtub drain, which were repaired.
Minor problems with a non functioning ice maker, and a small refrigerator.
Several door knob sets that we had to repair.
The major problem was the failure of the elevator, just prior to our arrival.
This was our third stay at Sunset Beach and the amenities, especially the elevators are a major attraction.
Otherwise we had a very nice stay.

We are so sorry that the elevator became inoperable prior to your arrival. One of the challenges in living on a barrier island is that parts have to be ordered and repair companies have to travel a longer distance, so what may be routine at home can often be an adventure here. We are pleased to report that the elevator at Sunset Palace has had a complete overhaul and is in good working condition.
