We had five children and four adults stay here for nine days. Five other adults were with us part of the time. We would highly recommend staying here. In fact, we didn't want to leave and ended up staying an extra day.
The furnishings were very nice, and the place was very clean. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen had every serving piece you could want. Things to know that will improve your stay (but should not deter future renters) are:
the refrigerator is a side-by-side(a little small for a large group for that long)
the ice make in the refrigerator does not produce a lot of ice (we just kept a cooler of ice upstairs to solve this issue)
no manual can opener (we brought our own)
blinds for the third floor windows overlooking the balcony - It was impossible to obey the "sea turtle black out" instructions.
As far as dishes go, the only thing we had to run out and buy were some Gladware disposable food storage containers for the leftovers. And the two dishwashers were definitely a plus!
The children were able to play on the beach and ride bikes in the area without an adult hovering over them because the community is gated and the house sits so close to the beach. The area under the house with the shower was great for playing when the weather wasn't cooperative.
We did not get to use the pool much because of the cold, but the entire pool area looked wonderful. The club house area had extra bathrooms and showers, plenty of seating, and enough space to spread out.
The washer and dryer, heating and air, and hot water all worked great. There were no problems with the elevator and we were glad to have it haul all of our groceries up to the third flood.
There was ample storage throughout the house and plenty of bedding and towels.
We did not need baby gates for our group, but there were some on the third flood stairs (inside and out)

My wife wanted to stay for 3 months

I normally rent a condo at 300 Ocean Mile, but this year decided to splurge on a bigger place since my children now have children of their own. Plus we've just completed a rugged year long cancer treatment regimen in our family and flat out needed a nice relaxing St George experience. The combination of staying at Turtle Tracks and having gorgeous weather was just what the doctor ordered!
I felt like the designer of Turtle Tracks had me and my situation in mind when building this house. It has plenty of room for my family of 12 now, beautiful panoramic views of the beach, kiddie gates on the stair ways an elevator to help with the loading and unloading. Overall a very very nice experience that I hope to repeat many more times.

Clean, well furnished house with a great view of the beach. We would stay here again. Has an elevator which is great for those with disabilities or the elderly. Kitchen is well furnished. One bathroom is well designed for those with disabilities. We love this part of the island as it seems to be less crowded than some other parts of the island. It is also very close to the state park and its beautiful beaches.
Ideal beach house for a family vacation on beautiful St. George

Service on the phone and by internet was always helpful. We've come to St. George Island for over 10 years and have stayed at the Plantation and in the Sunset area.
Turtle Tracks is a beautiful house with all amenities for two families. We loved the convenience of an elevator for our luggage. The beach in that area is absolutely wonderful, like white sugar, with a gentle surf suitable for children. We also enjoyed the heated pool. When a smoke alarm went off (due to a problem with the alarm, not smoke) I called and got someone out immediately. Good service! The two dishwashers were helpful and all furnishings and artwork and available dishes etc were lovely.
A beautiful ocean front view.

This house in Sunset Beach on St. George Island sits right on the ocean and has a balcony where you can sit and watch the dolphins and listen to the waves. It had a bedroom on the main floor which was convenient for my mom. Two bedrooms downstairs had to share a bath which was not as we would have liked but turned out OK. Tv's are OK not as modern. Phones didn't seem to work too well when some one was calling in but calling out was fine. Kitchen is a good size with two dishwashers. Two sitting areas, one either side of the kitchen was nice, plus a dining area.

Turtletracks is a nice house. The washing machine needed major repairs and was unusable while we were there. This, of course, is not acceptable for the beach and a family with children and teenagers. No refund or credit of any kind was offered which is disappointing.
Turtletracks floor plan is a good floor plan. We liked the main floor set up. We would rent again if everything was in working order, and only part of our family were to be going. Read more

Thank you for taking the time to share your vacation rental feedback with us. We are pleased that overall you enjoyed your stay at Turtle Tracks, but apologize that you experienced some maintenance issues during your visit. We know it was a terrible inconvenience not to have fully operational laundry facilities with a house full of family members. We hope that having our housekeeping department wash & dry your laundry helped with the inconvenience a bit. According to our records it was actually the dryer that was experiencing issues during your stay. We are pleased to report that it has been repaired & no further issues have surfaced. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your visit. Thank you for your continued patronage. We are pleased you’ve chosen to stay with us again.

Annual winter trip to SGI

Fourth home we've rented in Sunset Beach, and the one we're mostly likely to rent again, though all have been nice. Great open kitchen on upper floor along with primary family/living room and dining area. Overlooking the gulf with a great vantage point for dolphin watching. Bedroom layout was a little strange, with only a couple true master bedroom suites, both on the bay-side of the house. However, overall very comfortable, and use of elevator was an unexpected bonus for luggage, groceries, etc. Read more

From the high quality construction, local art collections, numerous amenities and spectacular view, this was a once in a lifetime vacationing experience. I hope we can return again one day. Pricey, but worth it. You get what you pay for.
NICEST LAYOUT YET

I spent a week in this house with my mom, aunt, and sister-in-law. We really liked the layout of the house. We didn't have any little kids with us, but it would be the perfect house for people with babies or toddlers. There's a gate at the staircase of the kitchen and living room area to keep kids on that level. The deck off the living area is secure for little ones too. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. We've stayed at several different beachfront houses in Sunset Beach and East End and this was our favorite to date.

We loved staying at Turtle Tracks. We have vacationed on Saint George Island for over 20 years and this was one of our most favorite homes to vacation in. The elevator provided a wonderful way to get our gear up to the kitchen, as well as our mother. There was plenty of space for our adult children and their friends to spread out, the kitchen was very well-stocked, and the location right next to the State Park meant that there were few people and lots of space to walk the beach with no one around you. Rare to find that anywhere these days. The swimming pool and tennis courts in the complex were an added feature that we all enjoyed. We are looking forward to spending another week there in the near future!
