'An Apartment with a View' which will take your breath away. Set on a hill-top location with an incredible vista of the Caribbean Sea and Grand Anse beach, "Inside Out" offers you a stress-free relaxing vacation. Steep roads lead up to the property making a car an essential part of your holiday.
The charming apartment is in the grounds of the owners' house and quite separate from the main house. The area is known as Jean Anglais - historically 'Genre Anglais', meaning english people. This is a rural area and you can walk through the village chatting with local people and see everyday life taking place. Vegetables being prepared for the stockpot ready for lunch, ball games and even cricket being played on the streets and all are good-natured when a car drives by and cricket stumps etc. have to be moved! There is a brightly coloured caribbean shack called Crown Heights (our equivalent of a pub)which serves every kind of drink you could possibly want and all the locals will join you!!
We have a large property with fruit trees and flowers in the garden. We have dogs for our security because this is a secluded area. It is extremely beautiful and natural. Our dogs live in the garden and sleep downstairs. You have to come up some stairs to the apartment, this is all on one level, and the dogs are never allowed up here.

The main road is at the bottom of our hill and the No: 1 bus will take you into Grand Anse or town - St. George's.

There are two price structures; the apartment can be let, to one couple, as a whole comprising seaview king bedroom, kitchen and sitting room with all facilities for your sole use. Our rates start from US$ 100.
PLEASE NOTE : In addition we have a FAMILY RATE. Applies to Dad/Mum & 1-2 dependent children, not other family members.
There are no taxes and there is no service charge.

Inside Out is a little gem perched way above Grand anse beach commanding lovely views and offering comfortable and spacious accommodation for two. Ellen picked us up at the airport as promised and had thoughtfully packed the fridge with some necessities. The road up is, like most Grenadian roads, a bit rough and steep in places but we soon got used to it and our hire car took us up and down effortlessly each day. We loved passing through the little village and greeting the locals who were so very friendly. The apartment was very clean and well-equipped with 2 shower rooms, a lounge, bedroom and kitchen. No need for air-con as the breeze always blows through the windows. Ellen and Stewart were delightful hosts, always there if we needed them but otherwise unobtrusive. The dogs provided excellent security and were never a nuisance.

You loved whatever you did, whether it was a swim before breakfast or later in the day after exploring the gardens and walks around Grand Etang to eating our beautiful Grenada Chocolate. Grenada is a very special place and you matched it perfectly.

This is our second review as the first one mysteriously disappeared! We notice there has been a negative review recently posted and we agree with most of their views. We had no idea there were 8 dogs when we booked - nothing was mentioned on the website, but I see that since our (deleted) review, the website has been revised!!! Infact, much of the description doesn't match reality! The accommodation is quite shabby and needs a complete makeover! The kitchen was dirty - we had to scrub most of the pots and pans before we could use them and the utensils were filthy. Infact, we handed a couple back to Ellen. We were asked by her that if we found anything else dirty, we should let her know. Sorry, but we shouldn't have found anything dirty! The bedheads were stained and the bathroom was tatty... .We, too, didn't get a decent night's sleep due to barking dogs. There were other issues, but after 5 days out of a 14 day booking, we left. We were given a refund for unused days. Incidently, although the website says "towels provided", you need to take your own pool towels - there aren't too many places these days where that is necessary! On a plus side, sitting outside provided and nice breeze and good views of Grand anse Bay.

We have recently returned from a 2 week stay at Inside Out. We are two couples who have been very good friends for many years and have been holidaying together for the last 15 yrs. On our arrival at the villa Ellen kindly showed us around we were surprised to learn that the lounge doubles as "the second bedroom" therefore as 2 couples we only had a small kitchen as a communal area and this can only be accessed via the bedrooms. The lounge bedroom has a en suite and a bed settee that is very uncomfortable. The main bedroom has Two comfortable beds which can be pushed together and their is a en suites .The kitchen was reasonably equipped, but could do with a makeover as the fridge and furniture is dated and old. The pool area is lovely and breezy and the views over Grand anise bay are fantastic, the sunsets were brilliant. The owners house is just several meters away with the pool between. There are plenty of outside dining areas. A parasol would have been a good idea as even at 16:00 hrs the sun is very hot. Once UN packed Ellen the owner advised us that they had guard dogs who we would be introduced to, 6 Jack Russell's and 2 Rottweilers. The dogs were very friendly to us and provide good security for the owners Ellen and Stewart. Unfortunately they are housed in the garage under the lounge/bedroom and they bark on and off late at night and very early in the morning ! This did give us all a lot of restless nights and earplugs came in very handy!!!. As much as we all love dogs when on holiday relaxation is important to us. We personally feel that this villa is really only suitable for 2 people which was mentioned in a previous review. We also feel that the owners should give perspective clients a much more detailed description of the accommodation on offer. We did not mention these problems while we were there as we knew nothing could be done and may have caused a bad atmosphere as we saw Ellen & Stewart everyday.
There seems to be a lot of 5 star ratings but only 15 (to date) over a 3 year period ??
On our return home we had a look on Tripadvisor and noticed a similar review to ours ! But it now seems to have vanished?? Luckily I managed to copy before it went missing !
This is the first negative review we have ever left and tried to sort out via email to owners when we got home about our issues but these were either dismissed or denied.
There were other issues we experienced while there but feel that it is unfair to comment on.
There were a couple of unpleasant comments made by Stewart on our departure that made us feel quite unhappy when we left.

These were the happiest guests we ever had. Imagine our surprise when they claimed a 50% discount on their return home.
This we naturally declined.
They seem to have decided to write a poor review to compensate for not receiving a discount.
We always listen to constructive comments from our guests and have made improvements to the property over the year based on these comments.
Not all guests write reviews but ours that do have always given us 5 stars.
The previous guests who left the same day these present guests arrived, gave us an unconditional 5 star rating.

We just loved the location of the property high up on a hill overlooking the beautiful bay of Grand anse and the mountains on the other side. In fact, we spent endless time soaking up the view during breakfast or those amazing sunsets. The property had just the right size for a party of two with two bathrooms (with shower), one bedroom, a small kitchen and a sitting room. The small pool was great for a morning dip.
All was well maintained and cleaned regularly. We also received fresh linens and towels every third day.
The owners Ellen & Stewart were fantastic hosts, always looking out for our wellbeing while they still left us with plenty of privacy. Thanks again for all.
As we arrived quite late, Stewart even picked us up from the airport. He also drove us right away to the local police station to purchase our temporary visitors drivers license.
Ellen provided us with a whole bunch of items such as orange juice, milk, toast, jam, eggs, butter etc., surely enough for a good breakfast the first mornings. If you like it hearty, she cooks a delicious English breakfast on request.
The owners have 8 very cute and friendly dogs who do not have access to the upper part of the premises.
We highly recommend to rent a jeep for your stay. Streets on the island can be quite steep and sometimes not in the best condition. -

If you are looking for a totally relaxing holiday in incredible surroundings with perfect hosts then Inside Out is the place for you.
The apartment is extremely comfortable with a well equiped kitchen but Ellen is on hand to provide very tasty meals if you don't feel like cooking.
The pool is perfect for cooling off after a hot day and the views are amazing.
A car is recommended as the road up to the apartment is very steep and a trip round the island is well worth it.

There is only one thing better than your first time at "Inside Out", and that is your second visit. Even easier to relax, and nothing new to take on board. There was more space this time with the addition of a comfortable sitting room, and with access to two bathrooms there was no hanging around waiting for your spouse to finish their restoration work. Our hosts managed the perfect knack of giving you enough space and privacy, yet were around if you needed advice or company. There are many interesting places to eat on the island, but we can recommend Ellen's home cooking from experience. If you don't believe me about the quality of this place, look how many bookings are already there.

Inside out is beautiful and everything required for a relaxing holiday. The view is first class and a lovely location to sit and watch the sunset with a Carbi. We were lucky enough to see a 'green flash'. Ellen and Stewart are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Grenada is a beautiful and interesting island. The Belmont plantation is a must, along with a swimming at pink gin beach and barbecue Sunday lunch at aquarium.

We couldn't have asked for a better view. Although everything was wonderful it's the sunsets that will remain engrained in our minds. Ellen and Stewart were absolutely the best hosts and were very kind and accommodating. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable with all the modern conveniences. Upon arrival we were a little concerned with the steep climb as the cottage sits on a hill high above the beach, but the experience of walking to the beach through the community was worth it! Thank you to Ellen and Stewart for sharing their little piece of heaven with us.

Siamo rimasti nove giorni all' Inside Out di Ellen and Stewart, nove giorni bellissimi in cui ci siamo goduti ogni attimo di questo straordinario appartamento affacciato sulla ampia spiaggia di Grand anse. L'appartamento è bellissimo, aerato da ben 18 finestre con zanzariere che rendono l'aria condizionata totalmente inutile. L'esterno è a dir poco magnifico, a cominciare dalla piscina privata e la tranquillità assoluta di questa collina, per finire con i tramonti e il panorama sulla spiaggia più bella di Grenada. Ellen e Stewart sono padroni di casa gentili e discreti. Pur vivendo nella villa di fronte, non sono mai stati invadenti e abbiamo potuto godere di assoluta privacy. E poi sono persone adorabili. Ed Ellen è una cuoca straordinaria! Consigliamo a tutti di prenotare una o due cenette da consumare sulla terrazza affacciata sulla Grand anse Beach. Un'esperienza che non dimenticheremo mai.
Vogliamo cogliere questa occasione per ringraziareancora una volta di tutto Ellen e Stewart e per averci permesso di restare nell'appartamento fino alle 5pm, nonostante il check-out sarebbe stato alle 12. Excellent hospitality from the beginning with a pick-up from the airport. The "welcome pack" in the refrigerator included home made jam and other goodies. The rooms were clean and airy. The kitchen was well equipped with the necessary utensils and also had two fridges.Both of our hosts were helpful with information, and assisted us in getting a rental car at a competitive rate. Ellen is a superb cook, we had three meals from her - one of which was a special one for our 30th wedding anniversary to which we invited some of our local friends. Stewart keeps the pool crystal clear and clean. The villa has stunning views over Grand anse beach and the south tip of the island. Also recommended you try swimming by starlight! In fact we are so pleased that we will be booking the "Inside out" villa next year.

This holiday was to soak up some Caribbean sun and chill for a week. It turned out to be one of the most relaxed and enjoyable times we have ever spent. Stewart and Ellen went out of their way to entertain us and to provide us with such gourmet food and drink that venturing elsewhere would have been a disappointment. We were delighted with the location of the apartment, such wonderful views, especially at sunset sipping a delicious rum punch. We did tour the Island with Cat Eye,what a character he is! We found Grenada to be one of the nicest of the Caribbean islands we have visited, lots of friendly people and beautiful places to explore. A big thank you to Stewart and Ellen for making us so welcome, we came as guests and left as friends.

My sister, daughter and I came to Inside Out to celebrate my retirement from teaching. Every moment was truly a celebration. We arrived quite late, but not to worry--Stewart came around to the airport to lead us to the property. My sister did a great job of driving on the "wrong side of the road.” We felt quite adventurous following Stewart up the steep hill and through the neighborhood in the dark! Ellen and the dogs were there to welcome us and to make sure we had what we needed.
I fell in love with the cottage and patio immediately. The first evening we dipped our toes in the pool and admired the stunning view of Saint George and the Caribbean. We were awed by the stars as well, spotting several shooting stars and the Milky Way. The daytime views were lovely, too. We dipped in the pool morning, noon and night, and never grew tired of this wonderful spot.
I had imagined that we would be out every day, tooling around in our rental car, but I found that I truly enjoyed spending large amounts of time on the patio, dreaming, reading and doing some watercolor painting. In fact, artists take note! Subjects abound at Inside Out, on the beaches and throughout the area.
Ellen and Stewart looked after our comfort before we even knew we needed something! I too highly recommend Ellen's cooking. The Shrimp Piri Piri was delicious! Ellen's love for cooking and feeding guests is evident in everything she makes. I would definitely eat more meals at Inside Out on a return visit.
My sister and daughter went on a whale/dolphin watching trip while I lounged around, painting. They saw over 500 dolphins. We also went on a daylong tour with Mandoo. He educated us about Grenadan history, culture, wildlife, and vegetation while showing us many highlights, including a rum distillery and a nutmeg/cocoa plantation.
All in all this was a perfect vacation in a more than perfect spot. Heartfelt thanks to Ellen and Stewart for sharing their paradise with us!

We stayed at Inside Out for our 2 week honeymoon in May 2010. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location with wonderful hosts, Ellen and Stewart. They are wonderful, helpful people who made our stay in Grenada a very memorable one. The accommodation was spotlessly clean - there is a double bedroom, bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen. There is another bedroom and bathroom at Inside Out so it is perfect for families or 2 couples. We arrived during the evening so Ellen had prepared a delicious 3 course meal, which was exactly what we needed after a 10.5 hours flight! We would definitely recommend you try Ellen’s cooking – we found it to be the best on the island, especially her Sunday curry lunch!!! We enjoyed lounging around the pool during the day and dining out under the gazebo during the evening whilst watching the sun set. We hired a car as it is a very steep hill up to Inside Out and it meant we could explore the island by ourselves. We found Grenada to be a beautiful island with plenty to do – we took a day trip around the island with Caribbean Horizons which included a visit to a nutmeg processing station, chocolate “factory”, rum distillery, Concord Waterfall and included a 3 course lunch at Belmont Estate. We went to see leatherback turtles lay their eggs on the beach at night time - a truly magical experience. We also did some hiking in the Grand Etang Forest Reserve and were lucky enough to see some cheeky Mona Monkeys! Grand Anse beach is beautiful, but we preferred Morne Rouge (also known as BBC beach) just around the corner. It is smaller so more secluded and quiet. The water is crystal clear and in our view, is paradise. Places we recommend for dining out include Aquarium (the Sunday BBQ is fantastic – especially the steak), Le Belle Creole and the Beach House. All in all, we had a wonderful, fantastic time at Inside Out.

My partner is an SGU medical student and so we stayed at 'Inside Out' from
October 1st to 6th 2009 while I was down visiting.
We couldn't have asked for better hosts, a cleaner space, or a nicer view!
The apartment has all you need, good closet space, comfortable bed, and
well stocked kitchen. We were lucky with wonderful weather so we could
maximize our time outside which was the highlight of this apartment for us.
Inside was perfect for what we needed it for, showering sleeping and
cooking. We really enjoyed the sunsets from the pool, and just relaxing
outside in the sun or shade during the day. Ellen and Stewart are wonderful
people and are more than happy to provide anything you need to make your
stay better. There was one or two nights that an extra fan probably would
have been nice, but that being said we only had one of the bedrooms so if
someone had rented both then the breeze would be more than enough.
They are right on top of the hill which earns the spectacular view and
wonderful breezes.
We rented a car which we thought to be essential as we wanted to be able to
go to the beach, campus, St Georges etc. If you want a relaxing vacation
and happy to just stay at the apartment the whole time then you could do
without.
Overall it was a wonderful stay, and I would recommend it to anyone, and
would love to return myself! If there is a next time we will definitely arrange
for Stewart to take us out for a day of fishing as we learned from that off
the coast of Grenada is the best in the Caribbean.

"Our stay at "Inside Out" was a last minute decision because we had already organised accommodation in Grenada, which proved not to be an acceptable standard. Therefore, we were grateful to have found at short notice the lovely "Inside Out" villa. Luckily it was available and within a couple of hours we were settled and comfortable.
To reiterate all the other reviews, the villa offers wonderful views, comfortable, clean and practical facilities with personal touches which we found to be very good value when comparing with other rentals.
The setting was perfect with the views over Grand Anse which is the main beach on the island.
We also stayed at the villa and did not go out for most of the two week stay because we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the occasional glass of wine with Ellen and Stewart.
Although we had been to the island before, and knew the St Georges area we found Ellen and Stewart's local knowledge and advice to be of great help.
Overall a fantastic holiday, great company, good food and beverages.
We hope to return next year and we thoroughly recommend staying at "Inside Out".

Even though the island of Grenada is exciting and beautiful, we liked staying at the apartment so much that we never left it, apart from going to the beach once. We had a 4 day holiday with 4 girls and enjoyed cooking ourselves, being outside at the pool all day and just sitting on the pool deck to enjoy the great view. It’s remarkable how clean the apartment and even the outside area is – you could probably even eat from the floor! The pool is not huge but also clean, and good to sit in to stay cool while still enjoying the view. Also truly amazing is to sit outside when it’s dark, with all lights turned off, and to look at the stars with your feet in the pool…
The dogs are friendly and quiet, and they keep good watch, at the same time you don’t have to be with them if you don’t want to as they’re staying on the ground floor of the whole complex. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking yourself and even 2 fridges, and we enjoyed eating… right, outside. ? There is no AC but a nice breeze that, together with the fans, keeps everything at a good temperature. The TV works, but we didn’t use it.
Ellen and Stewart are great and sweet people, we had some fun times and good talking. We never felt that anything was about making business, but more that we were staying with friends who just wanted our best (by picking us up and driving us to the beach just like that, by having dinner together one evening and just chatting). Even though they are around and live on the same complex, they leave the whole outside area with pool completely to their guests which is really a bit of a sacrifice, we thought!
Grenada has great people and fruits, so be sure not to miss that. One other great thing is that even if it rains, everything is dry again after 10 minutes! I recommend it to anybody, really. These four girls were off the ship The Logos Hope which anchored in Grenada for two weeks; two Germans, one Russian and an Australian. Their ages ranged between 19 and 23 years.
They were absolutely lovely; charming, fun and courteous and we loved having them stay as much as they enjoyed being here.
