Sandy beaches, fabulous restaurants, welcoming pubs and walking trails a...lso make this a great base for discovering this wonderful part of Cornwall.

Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
Town: St Issey itself is perfectly located for a holiday break, allowing you the opportunity to get away from it all while also remaining close to the delights (particularly culinary delights) of nearby Padstow. The hamlet has its own church, pub and village shop with gorgeous sandy beaches only five miles away, where you can indulge in the three “S’s” that the area has become famous for (sunbathing, swimming and surfing). The local area is also popular with walkers – there are some incredible coastal path walks offering a heady combination of Atlantic views, invigorating sea air and wonderful countryside. Padstow is certainly worth a visit; with the figure of culinary giant Rick Stein looming large over the town, it’s a must for foodies but also a great place to shop and people watch. Other attractions include the ferry across the Camel estuary to Rock, or the Eden Project (just 20 miles away) – if you can tear yourself away from this lovely part of the country.Read more

The aim was to find a dog-friendly cottage not far from Padstow. The result - a human and dog friendly cottage nestled in a spot where the soundtrack was birdsong and the backdrop rolling woodland on part of The Saint's Way (footpath running from North to South across Cornwall). The central heating made it perfect for a chilly spring break and the owners were friendly and helpful whilst giving us space to do our own thing. Fabulous beaches and shops etc. equally a short drive away. Oh, and it was pretty handy for Padstow too!

Whatever it means to be away from 'it all' - this is it. Of course you don't want to be away from this most beautiful area with it's amazing coastline, cycle tracks, old style cottages and friendly hospitality at every turn. The area is fantastic. A must if you've never done it - do it now or soon!
The cottage is small but charming and though it has been well used we were able to relax in it and get our strength back for the following day's challenges which comprised walking, eating cream teas and watching the sea. Those beaches are among the best in the world but the fresh air takes it out of you and you get back to Badger cottage shattered but feeling so much better.
The hosts welcome you with some goodies on the table which you find to your delight on arrival. The facilities are lovely and quiet and pretty site is a delight. We would always think of returning - if only to show others what they have missed. Just lovely - Go there soon!

The cottage was very clean and cosy, had a good layout for a family with small children. However we were four adults and the bunk beds in a small room which was an alternative connection of the bathroom to the lounge was well thought out but too small and claustrophobic for teenagers or adults.
Location suited what we wanted, remote and quiet, but not for those who like to walk to the local amenities.
