Description from the owner
6 lovely holiday flats in the centre of St Ives, sleeping 2, 4 or 5 people. Our flats are all 3 or 4 minutes walk from the beaches, the harbour, the shops, the Tate Gallery, Barbara Hepworth's sculpture garden ... it's a great central location. It takes a bit longer to get back to your flat, as the hill is steep - very good exercise! It's because we're quite high up that the views are so spectacular.
All the flats are bright, cheerful and well equipped for a holiday.
We have very high numbers of repeat visitors. Our normal changeover day is Friday but short breaks of 3 nights or more are welcome in the winter.

Additional Location Information
St Ives has just been voted Number 1 beach destination in the UK by TripAdvisor. It's also 6th in the whole of Europe.
And they are right - it's a stunning little town. St Ives is a brilliant place for holidays all the year round. It was once a fishing village, and has a lovely harbour. When the tide goes out the harbour is clean yellow sand. There are lots of other beaches - one faces west and is great for surfing. You can walk for miles along the cliffs, or just take a short walk around "the Island" It's in the middle of town but it feels wild and remote, especially when the sea is crashing beneath. The light, and the beauty of the place have always brought artists - the town is liberally scattered with all kinds of galleries, with art to browse and art to buy. There are lots of excellent restaurants, pubs, pasties, local fresh fish shops ...
And our flats are ideally situated, with easy fast (tho' steep) access to all that St Ives has to offer.

This is a wonderful place and certainly lives up to being described as possibly the best holiday flats in St Ives. Booking is easy with as much help from Mary as we need. We have stayed in flat 2 many times. The views are amazing, the flat has everything you need and is spacious. The first time we went we were apprehensive about the 'pull-down' bed, but its fine and just as comfortable as any other. This year we are fitting in at least two visits it's so wonderful. Relax in the evening or wake up in the morning to the sound of the waves. We don't think that it would be possible to find a more paneramic aspect in St Ives. We never use a car on holiday and getting around is fine with the regular rail service along one of the most scenic rail lines in the country if not Europe. Buses are frequent to many destinations - the 300 service runs april to September along the North Coast to Lands End. there are also buses to Penzance, Truro and Newquay. There are plenty of places to buy food - we try to use the deli when we can as its a local business. We tend to eat in most of the time as it is such a wonderful flat. However, the Pednolva Hotel also has great views and does reasonably priced bar food as well as more fancy food in the restaurant. If you stay here you won't be disappointed, but please leave a week or two for us.

I stayed in the Barnoon flat. This is one of the best holiday flats I've rented anywhere. Gorgeous view from the bay window. You are two short flights up from street level and can see out over the Island, the harbor, and beyond. I witnessed two rainbows (which says something about the weather in St. Ives). The flat is roomy, attractive, and well-appointed. I found everything I wanted to cook with. Nice firm bed. Convincing shower and bathtub. Pretty pictures on the walls. I couldn't have done better if I had decorated and furnished the place myself. No noise there, except, alas, at night, when seagulls, who haven't grasped the principle of nighttime sleep, squawked, specifically outside the bedroom. So take your earplugs. The same probably goes for anywhere in St. Ives. Barnoon Terrace is perhaps a quarter of a mile from the center of town but a sharp uphill walk.

First, I should get the only negatives out of the way. The flat, although very clean, is showing signs of some wear and tear and could do with a little re-decoration. Also, the Wi-Fi signal was practically non-existent (maybe there was a fault at the time). Those are pretty minor quibles though and I only mention them to help manage your expectations of this otherwise fantastic holiday flat.
We found booking flat 4 to be very straight forward and the communication from the owner was excellent. No problems and fuss free. The flat itself is very centrally located, well equipped and very comfortable. There's even a large TV and DVD player but to be honest we found ourselves sitting and watching the amazing views rather than watching the telly.
Having been to St Ives a number of times we doubt there are many places better than this to stay - certainly in this price bracket. We definitely recommend flat 4 and hope to return soon. -

The appartment was ideally located with fantastic views. It is within walking distance of all important sites. Getting out of St. Ives is also trouble free.
It is equipped with all necessary items. In short, an ideal apartment which made our holiday very pleasant. We shall certainly return before long. -

I have stayed at Seabirds House for the second time. The appartments are overlooking the harbour or the sea, the views are very beautiful. You are a just a couple of minutes from the town centre, the harbour and the beach. Both appartments were modern, well maintained and well equipped, clean, comfortable and pleasant. Since this year you do get broadband internet without extra charge.
Mary is very helpful, flexible and customer-oriented. I had to cancel my stay last minute a year ago because airports were closed due to the snow. Mary offered to come some weeks later and even stay at a more expensive flat for the original rate.
I have come to St Ives for many years and have stayed at different flats or cottages in the town. Seabirds House is without doubt the best. The price is very adequate, you certainly get value for your money. -

We stayed in Flat 2 which was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. I wasn't too sure about the pull down bed when I saw it on the website but it was great and we both slept really well, with the added advantage of being able to sit up in bed and see 2 beaches. Views were spectacular. Even with the bed down the room was a great size, just perfect for 2 people. Very short walk into town, everything close by. Mary was a pleasure to deal with, responsive and keys etc were where they should be, good directions and info to get to property. and finally a great price for a short break in half term week. Had a fantastic time and would definitely go to this property again

We stayed in Flat 1 Seabirds in late September 2011. We were 4, and the flat was just wonderful for us.
1) The location is absolutely perfect. All the charming streets of St Ives are directly
below, as well as easy access to the beach - I cannot imagine a better location in St Ives.
2) You can see both the harbour and the beach from the windows - beautiful views.
And the outdoor terrace was a bonus - we were outside all the time.
3) There was plenty of room for all of us - nice sized bedrooms plus a livingroom and kitchen - we could relax and spread out. While we didn't cook, the kitchen was well stocked.
4) Last but not least, the owner is utterly delighful, and as helpful as can be. It was
a total pleasure doing business with Mary. She was 100% responsible for providing us with a spectacular little holiday in St Ives, and we will always return to Seabirds! -

We stayed in the barnoon flat, it was clean and tidy with everything you'd need - really lovely! The view was amazing from the window seat you could see all the harbour and much more. The walk down from the flat took literally 2 mins (maybe a little longer on the way home) and you were in the hustle and bustle of the shops, pubs, restaurants and bakeries!! This was our first visit to cornwall and St Ives was a great choice, we looked at many places to stay and choose barnoon because of the reviews, these I have to say are all true statements. Excellent location, lovely flat, and the beautiful views!! It made our holiday just perfect. Negative comments-can't think of any.

We have stayed in Flat 4 Seabirds House annually for the last 8 years and the reason we come back is because of the location and the views. The panoramic view from the lounge balcony is absolutely stunning and never fails to take our breath away when we arrive. The flat is spacious and comfortable with all modern conveniences and the walk up the steep hill on approach and the internal stairs to the entrance keep us very fit! The parking space outside, although compact, is imperative in St Ives where parking is at a premium.

A lovely self-catering flat with excellent views over the town and out to sea. Only a short stroll down to the harbour, but a bit of a climb on the way back. If you stay in the winter make sure you get the heating on when you arrive. Excellent.

Whatever the weather, the views are stunning.
The ability to open to the balcony doors, check out the surf and then, depending on conditions, walk down to the bakery to grab either a lazy breakfast or a picnic should not be underestimated!

These apartments are brilliant. We have stayed in them for the past five years because of their location (in the heart of St Ives) and the views (which are breath-taking. They do not have old-fashioned charm but you can see plenty of that out the window.

LondonA beautiful place to relax
Left on 04/11/2011 for a stay in May 2010
We stayed in the ground floor flat of Sea Birds - we were there with our son, aged 7 and daughter, aged 4. We have stayed in the ground floor flat before and it is ideal if you're there with children because it has the terrace which the children are happy to potter about in, if they just want some outside time without getting all the beach paraphernalia together. It also has a washing machine which again is handy with 2 children - it just means you don't have to pack so much in the first place. Location-wise, you couldn't fault it - what it says on the website is true, the views are amazing and you can be down in the town in 2 minutes flat - walking back may take a little longer, but you don't get spectacular views without walking up a hill. Whilst when we stay at the flat, we always make sure that crockery is clean and put away before we leave, sometimes I think other tenants have been less respectful and we've occasionally had to wash cups etc before we could use them, but that's just a minor gripe in what is overall a really cosy and welcoming place to stay. I've recommended Sea Birds to several friends all of whom who have stayed have enjoyed it. St Ives itself has something for everyone - excellent food, good walks, beaches, cinema, children's theatre, ghost walks - something for everyone!
