Every room in this villa presents magnificent vistas of the sparkling turquoise waters across Pillsbury Sound with St. Thomas in the distance.This roomy villa offers sleeping arrangements that can accommodate up to ten extended family members or four couples. There were six of us on this trip and altagracia was wonderful. We had good views, nice breezes, and the villa was very comfortable. Was close to town and beaches. We all enjoyed the pool. There was space for all to be together, but areas for privacy as well.
We spent most of the time on the wonderful decks. We could see for miles!! The owners did a wonderful job on the remodel. We had a chance to see it during the work in October 2011 and the end result. If you want a outstanding view, great pool, and a superb villa for the price, then altagracia is the one. The staff at Catered To, especially Jason were very helpful with anything we needed. Would not hesitate to come back to altagracia in a heartbeat. Sharon & Don

We stayed at altagracia for the second time in late February. Last year, the old deck wood seemed pretty rough and worn and now they have replaced it all with really nice smooth wood, which we appreciated. They are also building a big outdoor kitchen. I don't think we'd ever use the outdoor kitchen so I hope the rates won't be going up.
Another big improvement was that they cut a lot of the foliage that was blocking the ocean views from the pool area. It is still private, but now you can see the water from the pool deck and the pool gets a lot more sun (they are working on a shaded pergola, which is definitely needed). We found we used the pool much more because of these improvements.
The master bedroom/bath is really nice with curtains to block the afternoon sun (something a lot of houses don't have for some reason). We did find the bedroom aC unit was making a strange whining sound that kept us awake so we were unable to use it at night. It did not do this last year so I think it just needs maintenance. We didn't ask for maintenance while we were there. Catered To has been a pleasure to deal with.

This was our third year coming to St. John, and by far this was my favorite rental. We have stayed in more luxurious villas, but this one was ideal for a family with children. It is comfortable and clean (not 100% perfect, but clean), and feels like a real, lived-in home. Plenty of everything you need in the kitchen and bathrooms -- small sample sizes of soap and shampoo are provided, but not enough for a long stay so you'll need to buy or bring some. What was most fantastic is the location. You can literally walk to town in less than 15 minutes, but you're still on a quiet street and not on top of your neighbors. Last year we stayed in Fish Bay, which was beautiful, but it was a very long drive on insanely curvy and steep roads. The drive from altagracia to town is 5 minutes, and to north shore beaches is 10-20 minutes. Oh, and I should mention that this villa has large living spaces -- two living rooms and a big open kitchen -- so there is truly plenty of room for everyone. Even the pool is big by St. John standards. If you don't need the ultimate fancy villa but want a comfortable and roomy place for you and your kids, this is the one!

the view from the house was awesome..there wasn't any breeze throughout the house...very hot..ceiling fans did not do much for air movement. the two bedrooms downstairs had an awful musty smell. the decking around the pool would get so hot you could not even walk on it without sandals...have stayed in many catered to homes..this was the most disappointing...

Thank you for your review of Altagracia. We are sorry that you were at all uncomfortable during your stay. We should mention that the week you were here was by far the warmest weather we have had on St. John in some time and it always feels much warmer on the south shore where Altagracia is located. Although there is little that could have been done do to assist with the heat, we are sorry that it impacted your stay negatively.
We are also sorry about the mustiness lower bedroom. As you may know all homes on St. John have cisterns that hold the water that we use for showers, and often these cisterns will be behind bedrooms. This can occasionally create a light mustiness that is alleviated by running the air conditioning unit which has a dehumidifying effect on the air in the room. If you do experience that in the future at any other villa please let us know and we will do our best to help.
We are happy that you have had so many great experiences at the villas we manage and we hope that you will consider Catered To Vacation Homes again in the future.

Great view, big pool, nice and close to town. Very well stocked Villa. On the down side, it was dirty when we checked it. All the tables and counter tops had to be wiped down before we could use them, and there was a good amount of leaf litter on the deck (like autumn in the north east). Other than that, very happy.

This was my sixth time on St. John and my 3rd time staying at Altagracia. This home is beautifully maintained and I'm convinced there isn't a better view on the island. All my companions but one were first time visitors to St. John and they all have told me it was one of the best vacations they ever had and already want to return to Altagracia. Thank you to the owners for sharing their lovely home and to Catered To for making our arrival and stay so comfortable. I will be back and cannot wait!!!

We rented this home for three families to stay in while we were in St John for our daughters wedding. Our party consisted of 7 adults and four children ages 6 and 8. It was perfect for us we loved the privacy of the different levels and rooms with their own baths.The big open floor plan and two decks with outstanding views gave us many options to spread out and relax.,The pool was wonderful,as were the well kept little gardens around it. For us bird lovers we had tropical bird visitors. It was close enought to the town to be convenient also but far enough to feel secluded and quiet.The kitchen was well equipped and we even found a few staples in the pantry.The furnishings were casual and comfortable.We would stay there again for sure!
