OregonCoqui-average accommodations but great view.
Left on 04/10/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We've stayed at many beach villas/condos in various places over the years and have always enjoyed great experiences and clean, top notch accommodations. This is our first review for a vacation stay that sadly, was not up to standards.
Positives:
Directions provided prior for arrival, car, etc. were very helpful. Our greeter, Alicia, was friendly and informative. Welcome package in fridge was nice touch. Great view from all rooms of the home just as described. Close enough to walk down and enjoy the Westin's beach. Short drive to town for groceries and restaurants.
Negatives:
Main room furniture not too comfy but we were outside most of the time so it was tolerable. Lighting in main room not conducive for reading. No screens to keep bugs out so doors had to be kept closed when sun went down-no listening to the waves at night from main room for us. Kitchen could use a major overhaul-dirty stove and rusted fridge/dishwasher. Internet was spotty at best. For those who would watch TV it's old. Housekeeping did minimal job but was nice touch up.
Biggest complaint:
We had Sat (arrival day) and Sun to enjoy the view in peace and quiet-one of our main vacation requirements besides close proximity to beaches. Unfortunately, 8am Mon until 4PM Sat construction took place even though we were told prior no construction was scheduled. Moving was not an option as we had our 89 year old mil with us and losing several days of our vacation to relocate was not feasible.
Overall, it was an underwhelming visit(largely due to our accommodations), which is sad due to the cost and travel time from the west coast. We wish we could have had a more peaceful visit to St. John. We don't expect to return.

Thank you for your review of Coqui. We are very sorry that you experienced any discomfort as the result of construction nearby.
Unfortunately there was no indication that there would be construction prior to your arrival. If we had been aware of this fact, or if the construction noise had been reported during you stay we most certainly would have been happy to find alternative accommodations for your group.
Please know that we have no interest in, nor receive any benefit from keeping information about construction noise from guests, particularly since the average time it takes to build a home on St. John is at least 2 years. We are always upfront whenever we are aware of construction near any villa.
As of this review on April 9, 2012 there is no longer any construction nearby.

House sits on bluff overlooking ocean. The view is stupendous from all rooms and pool. Resident iguanas were fun to watch. Alecia, our greeter was fabulous-friendly and informative. Paul, the gardener, was friendly and provided a lot of info on the floral/fauna of the property as well as some island tidbits.
We had to endure construction M-Sat 8-4 after being told the week prior no construction was scheduled-big disappointment after coming home from the beaches and listening to electric saws and hammering for several hours.
While the villa was nice it is in need of updates-kitchen stove was dirty and the fridge rusting inside and out. Screens would have been helpful to keep out the bugs at night and birds (leaving fruit to ripen on the counter invited more than one bird inside!). Lighting inside is poor for reading and furniture not too comfy but luckily we spent most of our time out on the deck until the bugs came. Not a villa for anyone with small children. Closest beach to walk to is the Westin beach-about 10 minutes down to Pearl Landing RoadResponse from Catered To Vacation Property Management - 04/10/2012

I know our iguana friends are bouncing in the yellow habiscus tree in front of Coqui looking over the Pillsbury Sound waiting for our return. We'll be back as soon as possible. I really do not want to tell anyone how wonderful this place is because I want it to be my secret spot, however, I will comment on how fantastic the people at Catered To are...how gracious the St. Johnians are...and how lucky they are to live in such splendour. Great trip.

CTRelaxing stay, amazing views
Left on 09/10/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We very much enjoyed our stay at Coqui. With 3 teenagers who shared 2 downstairs poolside bedrooms and a 3 y/o who stayed in our room, the sleeping arrangements worked well for us. The pool was perfect for all with a shallow end for the little one and a deeper end for the teens. The resident iguanas lounging in the trees and occasionally on the deck were fascinating. The location can't be beat, Coqui is just a few minutes from town, but very private, on a quiet street overlooking the sound. The view was amazing. The only downside was we had no telephone service all week. Overall our stay was fun and relaxing.

Bradford MASSBeautiful place with beautiful views
Left on 07/23/2010 for a stay in May 2010
We liked Coqui because it was near town, yet had a secluded location. The main floor and pool area had lovely views of the ocean. All rooms were nicely decorated and updated. Each of our children had their own bedroom on the lower level so everyone had privacy. We loved having a washer and dryer, which made our packing for the trip very light! The iguannas around the pool were B-I-G but harmless :) Lots of little ones too!! We had some issues with one of the air conditioners and Catered To arranged to get us a new one installed.

Chicagogreat house--great views
Left on 03/09/2010 for a stay in February 2010
We really enjoyed staying in this house. The views were unbelievable and having the covered deck for shade was awesome. Also enjoyed the pool as it is bigger than many. We loved the iquanas by the pool deck! They were so interesting and entertaining. They kept away from us so they weren't scary at all. The house is very breezy so we didn't miss having AC. We did use the AC in the bedroom although we found it noisy and it disturbed our sleep. Bed was comfy and the house is very nicely appointed. Also not too far from town but a quiet, private location.

This house worked very well for us. We loved the comfortable and attractive
furnishings, the breezes all day when we opened both sides of the house, and
yet we were grateful for the AC in MBR. The view was wonderful and for us it
was important to enjoy it while sitting on the SHADED deck. The privacy plus
the closeness to town was important to us.
Catered To responded quickly on the rare occasion we called.
Best: comfort and view and privacy
Least: Not happy to have iguanas sharing our downstairs deck...but got used
to them!
