My family of 11 came there to St. John. It was extremely nice to have the community living room and kitchen and then have our separate quarters come bed time. The pool of course all the kids loved. We didn't need to bring anything with us but bathing suits and pj's cause we were either at the beach or in the pool until bedtime. I would suggest Vida De Mar to anyone that has a large group coming and the service was wonderful. They met us at the dock and took us to get the car and then to the house and made sure we understood all the functions of the house. Cool outside showers!!! Also great snorkeling right there at the house - if you didn't want to you would not even have to leave the house...

The house was wonderful, we were 5 couples (all family) and each had our privacy. The pool and deck made for great evenings of dining and sing alongs and Of course the views along with all of natures creatures gave us plenty to look at everyday.
Jason was great with a follow up call to make sure we were settled in after we got lost our first trip back to the house. After we got our directions straight the location was easy into town and the market. We had a problem with a water pump and it was fixed almost as soon as it happened. Brian who takes care of the maintance and repairs on the house was great. He gave me his card so if any problems occured we could call him direct.
I can't think of one thing I didn't like about the house, but my favorite was the outdoor shower in our room. We spent a week on a boat before coming to the house so the shower was a big hit with us. If we get back to St John, Vida De Mar will be our first choice. -

What an amazing property!! Me and my (now) husband stayed at Vida for our wedding. We had family come in and spend the week with us. Vida was the perfect house! The pool and deck were enjoyed by all. Catered To was amazing, answering any calls or concerns we had---someone locked themselves out of their safe and we had no problem getting help. The house is laid out with plenty of community and private space. The only draw back was the non functioning hot tub, we were never able to get in as it was scalding! But the pool was just right! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

It was the easiest way to have a vacation for 10 people. We all had our privacy, but plenty of time together in the wonderful living/dining/kitchen area. Ending each night in the hot tub was a favorite.
The private beach was an added bonus; did some swimming and snorkeling. One of our more adventurous men slept in the hammock a few nights. Said he wanted to get the sound of the waves into his head.
The location was excellent; close to town, but completely private.
The staff of Catered to were very helpful in planning this vacation and on time in meeting us and getting us settled; then gave us the keys and left us alone. -

Pros: Location (just a short drive from Cruz Bay on all paved roads), tons of privacy, peaceful and quiet, beautiful landscaping and views, villa layout for large groups, the full a/C worked great, washer/dryer conveniently located in main great room, comfortable beds and pillows, large pool & hot tub, plenty of pool toys and rafts, excellent indoor/outdoor sound system with iPod connectivity, plenty of dishes and glasses for a large group, nice new coffee maker, plenty of beach towel (though some need replacement), Catered To immediately brought us out new flashlights when ours did not work (needed to go to beach cottage at night), & 2 beautiful outdoor stone showers.
Cons: Some broken furniture (1 dining room chair, 1 patio lounger, & 1 patio chair); no working TV in bedroom w/twin beds (Catered To said they would replace it, but didn't during our stay); kitchen needs a good cleaning (sticky cabinets, dishwasher, etc.); pots and pans need to be replaced asap; bedrooms could use more storage (not entirely filled with linens); website is misleading in that it leaves you with the impression that toiletries like shampoo & soap were included, but in reality you have just a days worth or two & never replenished with the mid-week linen change; & coolers were filthy (smelled like rotten meat with an orange goo in the bottom).
Overall, the villa needs a good cleaning. As guests, we shouldn't be at the mercy of the guests who stayed before us (condition of grill, coolers, spilled liquids down cabinet fronts, etc.). However, the villa is in an incredible location, has a great layout for groups, and the full house a/C was fantastic. -

Located on Dever's Bay with your own hammock on the beach. The snorkeling is awesome. The villa is set up perfect for families to have plenty of family time together and then go off to separate bedrooms for privacy. We opted to have some groceries delivered before our arrival. Great if you are low on time. The grocery store is not huge but, it will save on eating out. I strongly recommend taking advantage of the kitchen. The location is just a short drive to Cruz Bay. I have not one bad thing to say about Vida De Mar. It's a Villa our family will be talking about for years to come. Hopefully we will be able to come back again!

We had a wonderful stay at Vida de Mar. With 9 adults it is often difficult to find a place to accommodate us. This place did that and more.
Great location. Easy taxi into town. Pool and private beach so if you don't want to go and explore the beautiful bounties the island has to offer...it's cool to stay around the house.

We were a party of 10, with 4 adult children, along with their 2 spouses and 2 significant others. The accommodations were perfect as each couple had their own little wing so to speak.
The kitchen was so well equipped for preparing meals at home. The location was the best not only because we had our own beach along with the picture perfect views, sunsets and all, not to mention the close proximity to Cruz Bay and beaches. We rented our cars at STT airport and stopped at Cost U Less on our way to the Red Hook Ferry and were able to stock the bar and the kitchen with very affordable items before going to St. John. All in all it was a vacation all of us will never forget. Thank you Tiffany and Scot for sharing your beautiful home in paradise! -

From even before our arrival on St. John to the end of our stay, we could not have asked for better service from Catered To. They were able and willing to answer all questions and were incredibly wonderful to deal with even with a last minute change in travel plans.Vida De Mar is everything one could ask for in a vacation home.Great location, beautiful grounds, unbelieveable views, proximity to town, sooothing sound of the surf ,and perfect accomodations for a group of 10. Hope to be back next year!

Vida de Mar worked very well for our group of 11 - privacy and yet large enough great room for our whole group of 14 who were there for dinners. Well equipped, clean, comfortable, convenient to grocery, ferry, Cruz Bay restaurants, north shore beaches. Roads to the house (using an island grading scale) were a B. Everything worked except the internet and a safe. Owners and property management easy to work with. Everything they handled went smoothly.

Located on the beautiful island of St.John, Vida De Mar offers a near perfect villa rental experience. The villa is a well maintained property located on its own private beach with a unrivaled ocean view. The property has five separate bedroom suites and a central living area offering the ideal amount of private and together space for vacationing families or couples. The bedrooms are all air conditioned, nicely appointed and offer special features such as outdoor showers, a second kitchen or direct beach access. The pool, jacuzzi and grounds are wonderfully landscaped and offer stunning views of Chocolate Hole bay, turquoise waters and amazing sunsets. The gourmet kitchen was large and well stocked with everything needed to prepare simple or complex meals. Vida De Mar is private and quiet, but located only five minutes from Cruz Bay and ten minutes from the northern white-sand beaches. It is convenient to shopping, great restaurants and good grocery stores. This property works great for a variety of vacationers from large families with children and teenagers to couples traveling together. A truly wonderful place to enjoy the best of island living and vacationing.

The Villa is beautiful & has wonderful views. The only down side... the cleaning was sub-par with lots of dust & cobwebs and it would have been nice to have been warned about the spiny sea urchins awaiting your entry at the beach. Those are the only 2 negatives, the entire stay was the stuff memories are made of. We would all definitely love to make a return visit!!!

Our stay at Vida De Mar was exquisite. We had a wonderful experience. The house is absolutely breathtaking and extremely comfortable. The views are spectacular. And the few concerns we had (a tripped circuit-breaker, a small toilet pipe leak) were addressed immediately by Catered To. The trip to Cruz Bay and shops and restaurants is a short 15 min. drive. The snorkeling at the beach on the property was wonderful. Would return to Vida de Mar in a heartbeat! Special thanks to the Catered To staff!

The house was fantastic. We loved the privacy aspect with the separate sleeping quarters. The family room was the best, we had some pretty competitive pictionary games. The patio and pool area is beautiful, we loved seeing the iguanas everyday. The beach and the clear blue Caribbean were great for swimming and snorkeling. We definitely will return. Where to begin? We have a group that travels all over the Caribbean at least twice a year mostly on charter boats. This was our first house and it was an excellent choice.
The house itself is great and the furnishings are excellent. We all loved the beds!!! (Which can be hard to find while traveling.) The layout is perfect. The indivdual room set-up worked out especially well. The pool and deck are an even better feature since we spent most of the day cooling out! "Hey, it's 10AM somewhere!"
The location on Dever’s Bay was perfect for us. We are diver’s and love to snorkel as well. We did a morning boat dive with Low Key. The folks at Low Key were great and the diving was OK. However, we had just a much fun or more shore diving from the house!
Catered To help us with our truck reservation and it was perfect. Diving on the island can be a little tricky but once you get in the groove - No Problem Man!
The north coast beaches, downtown, markets etc... are all relatively close and easy to find. Of course everyone should make the drive over to Coral Bay. Fantastic!
The only "dislike" I can think of was leaving! We will be back!!! If they let us!!!

Vida De Mar is a perfect villa in a great location on the beach in St Johns. There is a nice central room for everyone to relax, eat, and enjoy blenders full of Rum Punch. (Pain Killers are the best). All the amenities ie. wireless internet, Cabel TV, Stereo are there. The real asset to this villa is that it is actually four seperate buildings. This allows everyone to have there own nice private bungalow as well as a wonderful central pool, hottub, and very spacious deck. The deck area extends over your own beach with nice coconut plams,sea grapes,and tropical landscaping that is private and completely surrounds you. The pool was warm and even had a volleyball net. We really enjoyed water volleyball. The Sunsets from the deck are awsome.On our first night there there was an unbelievable full moon which arose from the mountain behind us. This Villa is truly like having your own private carribean oasis.I highly reccomend this wonderful property. We plan to return.

Vida de Mar was all the web site states and more! Right on the water with a
rocky beach to swim and snorkel in (after climbing through/over the rocks-
bring water shoes to make it easier), a great pool and hot tub, all the
amenities you can imagine and beautiful sunsets! You were serenaded by
the sound of the water rippling through the rocks on the shore, the birds....
there was a cadre of iguanas hanging out in the bushes and trees by the
deck...one of the younger ones would hang out with us on the deck and
occasionally take a dip in the pool. The sunsets took our breath away!
There are 5 bedrooms....... a lovely "studio" with outside shower and small
kitchen, 2 master suites with great outdoor showers, a beach cottage and a
room with 2 twin beds. The BR's are mostly in separate pods which allowed
for maximum privacy which my grown children and their significant others
really appreciated!!!!
The kitchen/living room had lots of space, all the equipment we needed,
games, DVDs, puzzles,etc. There was a cooler, snorkel and swim supplies,
floats for the pool, a grill more chaise lounges than we needed, and
hammocks on the beach!
We were welcomed with a lovely basket of goodies including a supply of St
John ales. Each bathroom had lovely toiletries!
This is a great villa for 2-10 people!!!

Beautiful location, beautiful property with many personal touches. Greeting service and housekeeping were extremely friendly, prompt, and very, very helpful.
Everything was taken care of so we could really relax. The worst thing was having to leave at the end of the week! -

The villa was absoutely fabuluous! It was nice to be away from the downtown scene, but yet close enough to go and explore everything that downtown St johns had to offer. There was a little hiccup when we first arrived (no propane for the kitchen) but that was resolved the next day.
My guest and I thoruoghly enjoyed our stay and we are already planning our next jaunt down there!
The Management Staff was very responsive to our needs and questions and I feel went above and beyond to ensure that we got the most out of our visit.
If you've never been ther, or stayed at this wvilla, then you are missing out on not only an exceptional value, but an experience of a lifetime! -

We had a great time. My only observation was: check the dining room chairs; they were encrusted with dirt and grime. I took a whack at them, but I do think with the cost of staying there and I'm sure the amount the owners spend on maid service, the chairs should be clean. We also didn't see any clear, written instructions for the hot tub. We loved the locations, the beach, the pool and the fact that there was a house next door we could rent for the rest of the family.
