Visitors to St. John marvel at the beauty of the world renowned beaches, but very few of them are able to sleep within sight and sound of the water. The Beach Villa, located just steps from the Caribbean Sea, is now available for the fortunate few and is perfect for groups of couples, family gatherings & reunions and wedding events.

The Beach Villa is St. John's premier luxury villa unmatched and offering no compromises. The Villa is five minutes to the village (see our maps page) where you can enjoy fine dining, unique shopping, dive shops and gourmet grocery and ten minutes to the best-in-world, spectacular, north shore National Park... Beaches.

Donald and Deborah Schnell have brought the experiences from over thirty years of living on Saint John and hosting guests in their other villas to the creation and decoration of the Beach Villa. This is a very personal endeavor and this new villa incorporates all the features you "wish" other villas offered. All the sliding glass doors pocketing opening unobstructed to the lush tropical gardens to all the king size master bedroom suites being equally grand so no one is short changed. The hand of the artist is evident everywhere in the numerous details. The Schnell's three children also contributed to bringing the villa to life.

Inside the spacious villa, the great room is sprinkled with whimsical modern touches, (You'll want to take the giraffe home with you, but he is a permanent resident.) Open to sea breezes in three sides, the great room can be easily secured by closing the sliding glass doors if you wish to use the air conditioning. For entertainment, there is a CD player, cable television, a VCR and a piano procured for a famous musician who was a previous guest.

Every suite has its own bathroom with a Caribbean shower featuring colorful ceramic tiles and original Donald Schnell lighting fixtures. Several showers are outdoors and are created of island stone.

The focal point of the courtyard is the swimming pool with exquisite tropical plantings, and a center island with its own palm tree. Colorful tiles surround the pool and patio area and a tiled powder room completes the pool appointments.

  Wonderful 5 bedroom all with thier own bath and all large rooms.Pool has an island with palm in the middle, hot tub overlooking Great Cruz bay.Kitchen was adequate but needs some updating ( two refrigerators but both had hard time keeping things much below 65 or so) we had 8 of us and ate dinners in all but once,so we went to the Starfish market for out supllies.Out door grill was nice to have as well it also needed a new burner.
  Plenty of room to gather with the nice interior living room and adjoining out door covered deck area with many nice plantings around home.Hammocks under the shade trees were enjoyed by all as well as the "beach area" overlooking the bay.

  Family house for wedding week at Beach Villa

  We needed to accommodate two families for our wedding this august in St. John. We rented both the Beach Villa and the Beach Estate and were really happy with our decision!
  
  Overall the Beach Villa was a wonderful choice for our family. There bedrooms were really big with their own bathrooms and working air conditioning. They were really beautiful rooms! The kitchen itself could use some updates for entertaining, but overall we were happy with what it provided. Plenty of space in the rooms, not enough space for lounging around as a group indoors.
  
  The pool was smaller than I imagined but truly stunning with the palm tree island in the middle. There were plenty of pool toys for the kids in our group. The bay was easy enough to access (yes, there are rocks -- so be prepared for a tough entrance). Plenty of space to lounge and relax outside.
  
  My 95 year old grandmother was in our group and got around the property just fine. There was one bedroom that was ground floor which made it easy for her.
  
  The location is truly ideal. Since we had a large group in town for the wedding it helped to be so central to grocery stores, downtown, and the Westin. You can actually see the Westin from the villa.
  
  There were many creatures running around outside -- lizards, iguanas, etc. The house itself was very clean and we hardly ran into any issues with bugs.
  
  One downfall was the hot-tub. It never heated up and despite repeated calls to Donald it wasn't fixed.
  
  Donald is really a great person to rent from. He can even set you up with rental cars that he delivers to the villas. He made everything so easy - -we were picked up at the ferry dock, taken to his office to sign paperwork and pick up our rental cars for the week, and off we went! Donald also went the extra mile when learning about a baby in our group who was getting attacked by mosquitos at night -- he brought over a mosquito net without us even asking and she was never bit again!

  Glad to come across your review again & happy to see everyone enjoyed themselves! The hot tub has a couple of switches and we think there was some missed communications where not everyone knew how to operate it with the heat on (sometimes happens with larger groups that don't all arrive at once). We've simplified it and hope we've find a balance between ease of use & not having it run unnecessarily since they draw a huge amount of electricity and ours is the most expensive in the nation per khw.
