Thatcher, ArizonaYour search for an amazing/affordable St. John villa stops here!
Left on 07/08/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We have travelled and stayed at numerous places in the U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and the Caribbean but nothing has compared to Stone Court. It is absolutely amazing! (See our photos)
The staff of Catered To Vacations is a dream to work through. From the moment they pick you up at the ferry dock to the sad day you have to leave the island they are always there for you. If anything goes wrong at the villa - a simple phone call day or night a cheerful person responds to remedy the concern.
The view is stunning from every window and terraces on both sides; a/c in each bedroom is cold; the gourmet kitchen and breakfast nook is huge and completely equipped; satellite t.v. in the main house and both bedrooms for watching movies in the evening (however don't count on fast internet at Stone Court or anywhere else on the island - but hey, it's a vacation. At&t; phone speeds were good.) The upstairs loft is beyond roomy and both bedrooms are located across the terrace and away from the main house for added privacy. The clean outdoor showers for each bedroom rock with shells inlaid to the mortar and beautiful plans making it complete. Be ready to take extra money for food whether you cook in or go out because it is very expensive either way you go.

New YorkLooking forward to returning to Stone Court!
Left on 04/03/2012 for a stay in March 2012
My wife and I stayed in Stone Court for a week. While we had an incredible time and truly enjoyed the house, since all of the other reviews are so positive, I thought I'd share some neutral observations from our personal experience so future readers can be aware of some of the nuances of the home:
- The winds were out of the east all week. Thus the bedroom on the eastern portion of the property was much more comfortable to sleep in as a nice cross breeze enabled us to keep the windows/sliding door open without needing to turn on the air conditioner. The house blocked the winds from hitting the west bedroom, which was thus more stuffy and would require running the air conditioner. Had the winds been out of the west, we probably would have chosen to sleep in the other bedroom (or use the air conditioner).
- The bathroom for the east bedroom can only be accessed (albeit privately) by walking through the outdoor shower area dedicated to that bedroom. Therefore, if you have turned in for the evening and it is raining and you need to use the bathroom, you will obviously get wet. This is not the case with the west bedroom.
- The 2 showers dedicated to each of the main bedrooms are outdoor showers. The only indoor shower is in the main house (which is where the loft bedroom is located).
- Although you must step outside of the main house to access either bedroom, the transition between the main house and the east bedroom is not covered - again an issue if it is raining. The transition between the main house and the west bedroom is covered. -

Bethesda, MDBeautiful Villa - Amazing Place to Relax
Left on 01/04/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We absolutely loved Stone Court and stayed there recently for 10 nights. The villa has a spectacular view and is very well located for access to Cruz Bay, the north shore beaches, and the Center road to Coral Bay. The kitchen is extraordinarily well-equipped, with terrific chef's knives, a slow-cooker, a great roasting pan, a rice cooker -- virtually anything you need. (Except a meat thermometer -- the only thing we couldn't find. It's probably there!). The villa contains three discrete buildings: 1 with a king-size bed and nice bathroom and outdoor shower; 1 with a queen-size bed, large settee that could serve as a bed for a small child, and a nice bathroom and outdoor shower; and the central building with the kitchen, living room, bathroom (and indoor shower), and a loft that contains a double-bed and a twin bed. The central building doesn't have aC, but the other two do. There are lots of sleeping options, but your kids have to be old enough that you are okay saying goodnight to them in their own buildings. We locked our kids in and gave them a key and kept a key ourselves. It worked out great. The views are fantastic. You can hear the waves from the villa. You can see the rising sun and watch the sunset over the point at Chocolate Hole. There is no pool -- and at times, we would have loved one. That said, the place was beautifully equipped, ideally located, and extraordinarily relaxing. We would definitely stay there again.

Overall Stone Court is a nice property and the Catered To staff could not have been more helpful. The furnishings in the villa and the villa itself is dated, but kept up well. The outdoor showers and the view are the best aspects. The aC in the main bedroom worked well and the kitchen was well stocked if you like to cook. We enjoyed the quite location and the fact that we were only a short drive from town.

Cleveland, OHLovely place to spend your vacation with family

Stone Court is a great place. Views are outstanding, nice breezes and the place is very comfortable and private. I'm a big critic of the quality of bedding. Stone Court has two "pods" that are set apart from the main house. Each of these bedroom/bath pods has a very comfortable bed with it's own private bath and outdoor shower. Sheets, pillows and comforters are deluxe. The Main house has a loft with 2 beds that you could potentially sleep 3 kids in the space. The kitchen is well equipped and the washer and dryer help with packing light! Beach towels and coolers of all sizes were a plus. The house is a short drive to all the good markets in Cruz Bay. The closest beach is at the Westin but you will have to drive 15 mins to the north shore to get to public beachs like Hawksnest.

Richmond, VAbeautiful home with a breathtaking view
Left on 03/06/2011 for a stay in February 2011
The view from this house is one of the prettiest we saw while we were on the island. The set up was great for us and our two grown children and spouses. Very clean, nicely kept, and beautiful home design overlooking a breathtaking view of Hart Bay. Would strongly recommend this rental. The management was very helpful in every possible way. GREAT!
