Apito is a casually elegant home on the island of St. John located within the National Park boundaries. Completed in June of 2009, this home was built and furnished with the complete comfort and relaxation of guests in mind. Fully air conditioned, it is ecologically sensitive yet delightfully fun and upscale. As you enter Apito though its exquisitely carved entry door, you'll be greeted with extensive travertine tile work, rich mahogany and pear wood furnishings, quality finishes and oil rubbed bronze fixtures.

We use the HomeAway/VRBO Reservation system for our calendar, reservation and billing functions. We can accept Visa, Mastercard or PayPal (contact us about PayPal).
1) We require 50% of the total rent plus the $49 security waiver fee as a deposit to confirm your reservation.
2) The remaining 50% of the total rent is due 60 days prior to your arrival date.

This place is fantastic. At the top of the mountain line your view overlooks the pool, and the majestic Coral Bay area. The house itself is beautifully designed (for example there are two patio areas both furnished with tables/chairs) so you can always escape the breeze/sun if you like dining in that fashion, and the Kitchen is highly functional. Even the places on the island selling for several million can hardly boast of a better view or location. It is secluded, has every modern amenity you could ask for, and the management is friendly and responsive. They walked me through the steps of getting from the airport to the ferry dock in Redhook so from the moment I landed I knew where to go and got to St. John quick and easy. They also I highly recommend this place for 1-2 couples or a small group of friends; you're going to have a perfect vacation here.

This well designed and impeccably maintained custom villa on Mamey Peak above Coral Bay provides 2 large king suites ideal for 2 couples, an excellent view from the upper and lower decks, a small pool, a living room with wifi and all the trimmings, and a well-designed full kitchen for meals in. The attention to detail and quality of construction are obvious. Apito can serve as a vacation destination in itself.

My husband and I stayed at apito from Sept. 12 -20. We were beyond pleased with all aspects of our vacation. We were greeted by Claire and alex, who were very helpful. The island itself is breathtaking and apito is built in a way that really takes advantage of the views. The house had a very upscale feel to it, while still being casual and tropical. The pool was just amazing! We typically spent the morning at the beach and the afternoon lounging around the pool with a good book. There are two bedrooms. We had another couple spend the first three nights of our vacation with us before heading to St. Thomas and there was plenty of room. The second bedroom is downstairs by the pool. Once they left, we actually moved down to that room because it was a bit bigger and the views from the bed were awesome. Since it is rainy season, we did have a couple days of rain, but we were just so happy to be on a childless vacation that we just hung around the house, relieved to not have any responsibilities! If you are the kind of person that a day where you couldn't go to the beach because of rain would ruin your vacation (as I was before I had a toddler), don't go in September! It was a risk we took to take advantage of the lower prices and worked just fine for us.
The house is on a steep road, but we had a jeep and didn't have any problems. It was actually kind of fun and added to the experience. The owner was extremely easy to work with and the villa had all of the necessities for cooking - vegetable oil, pots and pans, spices, etc. It was also nice to have beach towels, a cooler and chairs. We also had a nice welcome basket upon arrival. We had two minor problems with the freezer and the sink and both were addressed immediately. I would highly recommend apito Villa. The island is great, the food was great and the beaches are beyond compare. My favorite island has always been Kauai but I do believe St. John has now stolen my heart!

You will love renting apito! Customer service is by far the best we have ever received renting a vacation home while traveling. Lori and Tom, the owners of this cozy villa make you feel like friends right from the start and answer all e-mails promptly. We were greeted at the ferry dock by friendly faces Claire and alex who had little surprises for us when we arrived. Ice cold bottles of water and even a drink box for my little 4 yr old grand-daughter were greatly appreciated on such a hot, humid day.
The road to apito is "crazy" but not a problem for my seasoned race car driving husband. They even threw in a donkey standing in the road when we arrived for our amusement!
The house is built right into the hill, and just the beautiful roofline and flying pig weathervane are visable when you pull up to the home making you feel very secure from cars or walkers passing by. Driveway is small but adequate.
The home is charming and cozy in size but big on style. Every amenity needed for a delightful stay is right there at apito. Beautiful mountain and Coral Bay views seen through floor to ceiling windows, two large bedrooms with comfy beds, delicious, softer mattress found downstairs, firmer one up. Great cotton bedding, plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, shampoo, conditioner, dish detergent, laundry detergent,bug spray; suntan lotion, paper towels,toilet paper; coolers, umbrellas, washer and dryer,top of the line stove; high end pots and pans, silverwear and beautiful dishes; big, wall mount TV, complete library of family movie dvds, beautiful hard cover books and even a toy closet for the kiddies. (My grand-daughter enjoyed the little toys every day while we cooked our meals inside the villa.) Even the games found in the very nice bookcase were high end. Monopoly, Scrabble, etc packaged in beautiful wooden boxes. Touches of whimsy also, and all at a fair price!

My husband and I have stayed at the apito two times and have decided it is the only place we will stay at when we vacation to St. John; which we plan to do yearly. The ammenities are all there. It is very private with amazing views of Coral Bay and beyond. The decor is beautiful, with all the comforts of home. We never feel like we are just staying in a "rental unit". The apito is very close to many great beaches and restaurants. The owners, Lori and Tom Buttermore, have always been very gracious and easy to work with whenever we have stayed there. We now claim the apito our home away from home!!
