Looking out the large picture windows of Moonswept at the grandeur of St. John's East End, the British Virgin Islands and the Virgin Passage beyond, you'll be stunned by the blue-and-green splendor stretching for miles and miles before you. This charming two-bedroom villa, high on a hill in Calabash Boom, is perfectly situated over the vast ocean panorama where you will be treated to cool easterly tradewinds.
The entrance to Moonswept is sheltered under a roofed portico. The spacious kitchen, complete with an island, a sitting area, and a desk and a library, ushers you into the high-ceilinged Great Room furnished with colorful sink-into... sofas and chairs.
In the Great Room, a hand-carved Balinese armoire presides over a cozy corner for TV and movie watching. A generously-sized table from Basque country provides dining with one of the best views you'll see ever on St. John. At the other end of the Great Room is an upholstered couch and a luxuriously-comfortable chaise which are grouped around a coffee table for conversation, reading, or simply enjoying the breathtaking beauty of nature - emerald green islets and cays, blue sea and blue sky.
Two air-conditioned king bedrooms of equal size are placed to the right and left of the Great Room, providing excellent privacy. Each features a Heavenly Bed and an ensuite tiled bath; one bath is equipped with a washer and dryer.
French doors open from the Great Room out to the tiled pool deck, which features the same mesmerizing 200-degree view and offers a second dining option for alfresco meals. The pool has a built-in bench from which to appreciate the sea views. The deck features a hot tub and a canopied cabana for shade; this area is surrounded by tropical landscaping for complete privacy.
Moonswept's interiors are graced with romantic indirect lighting and beautiful high ceilings of cypress with white rafters, keeping everything cool inside. Dressed in lively Caribbean colors inside and out and providing a comfortable, large space for two or four, Moonswept is one of our most popular villas - please reserve your vacation at Moonswept early!

Dave, the on-site manager, lives in the apartment beneath Moonswept. He's there if you need him for maintenance, concierge services, or for seasoned advice on island activities and anything else you might want to know, but your vacation privacy is, of course, completely assured.

HOW IS THE ROAD UP TO MOONSWEPT? This villa is located in Calabash Boom - a lovely, secluded, quiet community. The Calabash Boom Road to Moonswept is owned by the VI Territory and is largely unpaved. Seasonally, it can sometimes get pretty bumpy. However, any 4-wheel drive vehicle can handle it easily; renting a 4-wheel drive vehicle is required for Moonswept. In late 2010 and 2011, some sections of the road were paved, and some concrete water bars were installed to help keep the road in better shape. Is it perfect? No. It will only be perfect when it is completely paved, which won't happen for a while. Is it navigable? ABSOLUTELY! And actually, many guests think it's fun going up and down. But, the road is now routinely maintained to make it as good as it can possibly be.
St. John is the smallest of the U.S. Virgin Islands. It features beautiful white sand beaches, turquoise waters, colorful coral and tropical fish, and green velvet hills. Two thirds of the island is the Virgin Islands National Park so the gorgeous beaches and forests will remain untouched and be accessible to everyone. Tour the national park by jeep or safari bus or hike the trails led by a park ranger. St. John is a peaceful, uncommercialized paradise yet still offers every facility and amenity that a resort has to offer. There is lots to do whether it be on land or in the water.
