Description from the owner
White Caps is a stunning Barbados beach house on the East Coast of Barbados, perfect for surfing; it is an area known for its natural beauty and the rolling "white caps" of the Atlantic Ocean. This impressive home sits on just under 10,000 sq ft of hillside land, providing unobstructed, panoramic views from Pico Tenerife to Martin's Bay. It is cooled by the tropical trade winds.
The upper balcony provides a most comfortable retreat; it opens up to show the endless view and you can hear the sound of waves crashing and smel the ozone in the air. The balcony is perfect for dining or to enjoy a snooze in the hammock. Or, for a magical expe...Read more

Additional Location Information
Cattlewash is typically known as the seaside getaway for Barbadian families particularly in the summer months. But in recent years, it has become popular with tourists wishing to vacation away from the bustle of the south and west coasts and enjoy the natural environment of the east coast. The area is quiet with minimal vehicular traffic and has mainly single dwelling homes which are rented on short term basis. There are a few permanent residents in the area but it is generally a very quiet and peaceful retreat.
There are a few convenience stores within a 5 minute drive including People's Choice and Belleplaine Supermarket. For those who wish to dine out, there are a few options, the closest being The Cove Restaurant which is open on certain days of the week and by reservation only. Sand Dunes which is in Belleplaine serves a great Bajan lunch at affordable prices and also does take-away, single or family style plates! If you are looking for more selection, Atlantis Hotel in Bathsheba offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily - be sure to go for their Sunday lunch buffet which is divine! For those wishing to explore the island, St.Nicholas Abbey, Cherry Tree Hill and Codrington College are not far away. Or perhaps an afternoon in Hunte's Gardens or Andromeda Gardens are what you fancy! For those seeking a bit more activity, Aerial Trek is nearby where you can propel through the gullies, or hike through Welchman Hall Gully. Or explore the limestone caves nearby at Harrison's Cave. Every Saturday the local hash House Harriers also arrange a walk and quite often it is not far from the east coast of the island.
There are 4 parking spots at White Caps but as the house sits on a cul-de-sac, there is no through traffic and is very safe. A short walk down to the east coast main road puts you on the bus route and you can catch a bus for US$1 to Bathsheba or to Bridgetown. A rental car is advised if you plan to do a lot of exploring.

Bridgetown, BarbadosBeautiful Bathsheba Bliss
Left on 09/18/2012 for a stay in September 2012
My family and I rented the White Caps guest house for the weekend to celebrate my mother's 50th birthday and we had a wonderful experience. The house has very modern amenities, was clean, and well prepared for our arrival. They were eight persons in our party and the house was spacious and comfortable for all of us. The bedrooms were large and comfortably fitted with a/c units, cable TV and DVD players. The pictures that we viewed online were an accurate representation of the beauty and space of White Caps. We had a sensational weekend as we took advantage of the pool and the outside dining area on the beautiful sunny days...we practically lived on the patio! I cannot fully express how delighted I was to be able to share this experience with my family as we celebrated my mother's birthday. My mother was elated and I know she truly had an unforgettable experience. The owner was very nice, approachable, informative and helpful throughout our transaction. In addition, the caretaker was exceptionally kind and accommodating to our needs and requests. This excellent service and attention made our stay even more worthwhile. The one negative thing I can say about our stay at White Caps is that it was too short! We are all still on a high after our weekend and everyone is constantly reliving the experience as we converse with each other. Being residents of Barbados we have all experienced numerous guest houses before. White Caps is by far the best we have ever been to; it is in a class of its own. We are already planning our next stay in the very near future at this beautiful home.

New PaltzFantastic house rental!
Left on 04/26/2012 for a stay in March 2012
My wife, our two small children, a friend, and I had an excellent stay in Cattlewash. The house is new and clean, with lots of space. The bedrooms are large, with very comfortable kingsize beds and good air conditioning. Amenities such as multiple flat screen Tv's with DVD players an Wi-fi came in handy. The house is well situated, with great breezes and no mosquitos. The deck is spacious and great for eating outside. The pool is cool and refreshing. Arrangements for the house rental were simple and went smoothly and further support for car rental or other needs was easily available. The location is on the non-touristed side of the island so some amenities are not as easily available, but we found several good dining options and were able to find fresh fish, poultry, produce, bread and were thus able to prepare some great meals at the house. We loved the peace and quiet there. Having two kitchens was also a plus. I loved being able to surf just a few minutes away at Soup Bowl and Parlors every day. Overall it was a great house rental and we hope to return there soon!
