Great apartment in quiet residential area, bus stop not far from apartment, buses are regular. There are local shops nearby which cater for everyone, prices are around the same as the uk. The owners son looked after us upon arrival, he was very helpful, thanks Mike. The balcony in the apartment is great, you get the sun all day and is a large area, great for sunbathing. the apartment is very well equipped with everything you will need for a great holiday. Thanks again Mike and Mark.

This apartment is exactly as advertised, clean, modern, nice balcony etc. We enjoyed our stay her in Sept 2012 even though weather was much hotter than expected for late September. The location has good and bad points. It is a little too far away from St Julians/Silema to walk home , however the bus was very close by. Also it was in a quite location but the church bells woke us up early every morning, several rounds of bell ringing each morning. The property its self could not be faulted...

I would just like to respond to two points made in this hastily composed review. The Penthouse is an easy and gently sloping walk from St. Julians and takes a maximum of 20 minutes unless you are more than a little overwieght which one of these guests was, and certainly if walking on level ground is an effort...please reconsider! The map on Flipkey clearly shows the distances involved. There are of course plenty of buses that are a two minute walk from the Penthouse. The apartment is situated in a very respectable residential area and church bells ringing early every morning would just not happen! There is a special feast once a year when the bells may be used more frequently but only after 9am. I did ask my guest to be more specific as to what constitutes 'early' or 'several'...but as yet I have received no response.
As you can see in this section, no other person has mentioned church bells; therefore, I would like to state here and now that should the Priest have an 'epiphany' or mental breakdown and goes mad with the bells or broadcasts Merry Christmas by Slade at full volume; I will not hesitate to consider compensation... that is of course if you didn't find the episode a whole lot of fun! -

Ich habe hier 2 Wochen im august verbracht um einen Englischkurs in St. Julians zu besuchen. Die Unterkunft liegt auf einem kleinen Hügel und die Terasse bietet einen schönen Blick auf die Küste. An den Wochenenden kann man von der Terasse die Feuerwerke bewundern.
Eine kleine abgeschiedene Oase bietet diese sehr geräumige Terasse, die mein absoluter Lieblingsplatz war. Hier gibt es zu jeder Tageszeit einen sonnigen oder schattigen Platz, je nach Bedarf. Die Einrichtung des appartements ist modern und geschmackvoll.
Nach einem Gehweg von wenigen Minuten sind Geschäfte erreichbar um Lebensmittel einzukaufen. Auch die Busstation ist nur ca. 7 Gehminten entfernt.
Der Empfang durch den Besitzer war sehr herzlich. Er nahm mich mit seinem auto mit um mir die nähere Umgebung zu zeigen und mir alles zu erklären. Auf Fragen per Email reagiert er immer umgehend.
Da appartement ist für einen alleinreisenden sehr luxuriös, für ein Paar sehr gut geeignet. Auch eine Familie mit eher kleineren Kindern wird sich hier wohl fühlen.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION...
I spent 2 weeks here in August on an English course in St. Julians. The property is located on a small hill and the terrace offers a beautiful view of the coast. On the weekends you can admire the fireworks from the terrace. This very spacious terrace was like a secluded oasis and was my absolute favorite place to be, where you can select a sunny or shaded area as needed. The interior of the apartment is modern and tasteful.
Shopping for food is just a few minutes away. Also, the bus terminus is just 7 minutes away.
The reception by the owner was very welcoming. He took me in his car to show me the local area and to explain everything. To questions by e-mail, he always responded immediately.
The apartment is very luxurious for a couple; very well suited for a couple and even a family with small children will feel at home here.
I highly recommend this property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was very spacious and clean, we particularly enjoed spending time on the wonderful balcony. Mark and Sandra were very welcoming. (The welcome food pack was a nice touch) The only downside was the location, it was quite a walk into the centre of St Julians (Especially coming back uphill)

Hello Alison ans Martin... I'm very happy that you enjoyed your stay in the Penthouse and took advantage of its large terrace, gazebo and loungers!
The quiet and up-market residential location is appreciated by everybody because good sleep on holiday is so essential; whilst still being within walking distance of all the amenities you could ever need.
The location also benefits from being high enough to have wonderful air quality, and a gentle slope down to Paceville and St. Georges bay which is about a 15 minute walk .
The walk back may take about 20 minutes, and if you dont hurry (and why should you when you're on holiday!) you'll hardly notice the gentle gradient that gives you that fantastic light quality and a 180 degree panoramic sea view to wake-up to every morning! -

I can't say enough good things - the apartment is comfortable, beautifully furnished, and equipped so thoughtfully with every single thing you could need - I am really not exaggerating. We could have turned up in just the clothes we stood up in and would have probably managed very nicely! We were met at the airport and provided with a delightful 'welcome' selection of food in case we didn't feel like going out shopping immediately - although there are all the shops you could need immediately close by.
It is situated in a nice quiet area and the roof terrace is great for just kicking back, sunbathing and relaxing (and listening on Sunday to the singing from the nearby Church). There are a couple of nice coffee shops, two supermarkets, chemist, greengrocer, fish shop, irresistible cake shop - and more that I have forgotten, I am sure, in the immediate vicinity, and the only (very minor) thing we found lacking was a restaurant or bar within staggering distance - it's a bit of a challenging walk back at night from the resort areas for us less active types, and although the buses are cheap and extremely cheerful, and the bus stop is right around the corner, they don't run very late at night.

Hello Mary...I would just like to add that many of your 'eating out' needs could have been fulfilled within walking distance from the Penthouse! There is a well presented licensed cafe called 'Drift', that is a 1 minute walk from the Penthouse. It opens at 9am and closes at around 7.30pm. A litte further down the road there is another (larger) licensed cafe called 'Lulus'. This cafe is very new and immaculately presented; as with 'Drift', there is an outside seating area. The opening hours are usually 9am - 7.30pm but this can change depending on how busy they are! The staff here are charming and polite and the food is excellent. A little further down the road (next to the traffic lights on St Andrews Road...the main road into Paceville) there is a small pub with quite late opening hours! If you turn right into St Andrews Road and walk another 50 yards there is the 'Brewmaster Pizza Pub' (also grills-pasta- fish) that has a brick pizza oven! It is licensed and is open every day until late at night (delivery service available). A few yards further along and about 6 minutes walk from the Penthouse is the excellent 'Pavillon Palace' for cuisine from China and Singapore (last orders 11.30pm / take-away service available). This is a beautiful appartment and staying here really made our holiday.
The owners couldn't have been more helpful, we arrived at 3.50am so they had put a few things in the fridge and cupboards so we wouldn't have to go shopping immediately. For a small extra fee, they picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, telling us about local events, and pointing out all the local shops etc on the way. They provided maps of the local area, a whole pile of leaflets about local attractions, bus time-tables, a very well stocked kitchen and bathroom, and gave us a ring halfway through our holiday to make sure we were getting on ok.
The location is great, being far enough out from the main area to be quiet, but only a 10 min walk from the shopping centre and all the bars, and there's even a little man-made sandy beach which is great for sunbathing and swimming.
There are very cheap, very regular busses that go everywhere, and a stop about a minute from the appartment.
On the nights when we wanted to stay in, the little DVD shop on the main road let us join even though we were only there for two weeks, and the kitchen was so well stocked we didn't want for anything except the lovely food and wine from the supermarket 2 mins down the road.
The local food and wine is very reasonably priced and of excellent quality, pleanty for veggies too!
