Additional Location Information
St Kilda, with a population of 16,122, is located 6km south from Melbourne's CBD. St Kilda was named after a ship, the ‘Lady of St Kilda’, which moored at the main beach for much of 1841. During the Edwardian and Victorian eras, St Kilda became a favoured suburb of Melbourne's elite, and many palatial mansions were constructed along its hills and waterfront. Post WWII, St Kilda became Melbourne's red-light district. In recent years, St Kilda has experienced gentrification. Now St Kilda is one of Melbourne’s premier and most expensive suburbs. St Kilda is home to many of Melbourne's famous visitor attractions including Luna Park, the Esplanade Hotel, Acland Street and Fitzroy Street. It is home to St Kilda Beach, Melbourne's most famous beach, several renowned theatres and several of Melbourne's big events and festivals.

We made this our base for our first ever trip to Melbourne and we couldn't have picked anywhere better. Great location, very comfortable apartment and all the extras a visitor needs. The c offee machine was a very welcome touch for us weary travellers. The folder with all the suggestions of places to see, eat, drink was very helpful. Thanks very much!

AucklandA wonderful week!
Left on 10/02/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We stayed in apartment 39 for a week with my husbands mother and sister. The trip was to celebrate ma-in-laws 80th. We had no problems with accessing the apartment and everyting was ready for our arrival. The apartment is well equipped, clean and stylish. The location was fantastic with 2 supermarkets within a few minutes walk.
We loved the gas fire and spacious kitchen, having laundry facilities was a great advantage.
I can't say anything negative, we had a great time and I have already recommended Espresso apartments to friends and colleagues.
Thank you for helping to make ma-inlaws birthday treat so wonderful. -

Brisbanegreat location but the 3rd bedroom is just suitable for children
Left on 06/05/2012 for a stay in May 2012
The venue was great with easy walk to eveything.
The place is too small in the 3rd bedroom for a third couple. There is no cupboards, storage ect.
It was also annoying things like light bulbs not working, no plugs for bathrooms, no egg flip could easily be fixed with a good check list before each person
The second set of keys did not work on the front door.
All in all i would definetly stay agin -

Left on 05/03/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We had a great stay in St Kilda. The apartment was in a perfect location at the bottom of acland St within walking distance to lovely restaurants and bars, the beach and shops. Perfect for a stay outside the city. There was also a team stop right nearby that can be caught all the way through the CBD to Brunswick. The apartment itself was perfect, easily accommodating up to 6 people with 2 bathrooms and a huge living area. The only downside was the TV being a little fuzzy but you don't visit the apartment to watch TV all day! And I think the carpet could have used a better vacuum but otherwise this was a fabulous weekend!

Fabulous location for all things St Kilda, with the Iddy Biddy cafe across the road providing fantastic breakfasts! Three bedroom apartment for six single woman was great, if you don't mind sharing beds and the third bedroom is probably more like a large wardrobe but adequate for a few nights. Apartment had just about everything we needed and it only took a phone call to have additional items supplied promptly. All in all pretty good value for money and would definitely stay again.

Left on 02/01/2012 for a stay in June 2011
Stayed in the Espresso apartments for a few nights with my family, and we had a whale of a time. Bedrooms were big enough to comfortably get around in, while the living areas were spacious, elegantly styled and easy to warm (good news in the Melbourne winter). The Nespresso coffee machine was a nice addition too! The only minor problem was that the door to the complex could be a pain to unlock, but that really is being picky.
Located in St Kilda not far from a number of tram lines, it was certainly a convenient place to stay, easy to get in and out of the city as well as enjoying the coastal cool of St Kilda itself. -

Left on 12/15/2011 for a stay in November 2011
The service we received was satisfactory. There was a glitch with the key -not placed in the right key safe, but that was quickly rectified after a phone call. The apartment is very comfortable with first class fittings, though there is a lack of hanging space in the third bedroom which is more suitable to children than a third couple. There were minor problems with toilet paper and soap (they ran out)and there was no way to unlock the windows. The location was fantastic - great restaurants in walking distance; tram on the doorstep to the city; buses pulled up outside in both streets. We really enjoyed the view from and the ambience of the apartment. We had a most enjoyable stay.

AdelaideNoisy
Left on 08/04/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Firstly when we arrived the ground floor and the lifts had a very bad stale fish smell which was there our intire stay. The bathroom mirror in the ensuite had a large chip in it which the owners were not aware of and also the door on the main bedroom didn't close. The 3rd bedroom had no blind on the window and door. The coffee machine was broken and to top it all off it was the noisy place I have ever stayed it. You could hear evry street noise and even if someone talked quietly in the lounge room, you could still hear them from the main bedroom which was a fair way apart.I made the owner aware of the things wrong with the appartment and he did,t offer a reduction on the price we paid. I hope for whoever stays there next theses things are fixed.

This apartment has had 25 reviews with an average rating of 4.5 stars. 16 of the 25 reviews gave a rating of 5 stars and 7 reviews gave 4.5 stars. With respect, I note that these guests were unpleasant do deal with and I assume they are being malicious with their review. We do not believe this review is reflective of the apartment.

Our family couldn't believe the convenient location we were in. Hopping on a tram is just less than a minute away along acland St. For buses, it's just a 5min. walk. For restos and cafes (and they are a lot to last you a week!), they're lined up along acland too. The amenities were superbly thought out. The cozy fireplace was great when temps went down to 6-8 degrees. I have to mention the nice touch of having Nespresso available every morning! We would love to go back.ü

The apartment is extremely well located to the St Kilda restaurants, public transport and supermarket shopping. Our stay was to go to the Melbourne Grand Prix and we could not have asked for more. The apartment was within a comfortable walk to the Grand Prix track or via public transport. The apartment was well equipped, we were very impressed with how well the apartment was fitted out. We could not fault it in any way.

We didn' t receive any details on accessing the apartment prior to our arrival. I rang on the day we were due to arrived to get instructions on getting into the apartment. We got the key but the guy didn't explain about the code to access the floor so we had to ring a few times and found it hard to understand the guy on the phone. It was quiet frustrating . We also had no plug for the bath tub the whole time. I did inform management. Also the instructions to use the oven were very skeptical. The switch was hidded in a cupboard with the kettle. !!! Other than that it was very beautiful and comfortable. Loved it very much. Especially the location.

Left on 09/01/2010 for a stay in August 2010
This place is great for a family with 2 children as they can each have theor own room and space. Well kept and had everything you could want. The third bedroom with twin beds were not made up though. Also this room could do with blinds. Location wise, everything you need is literally walking distance across the road and round the corner in ackland St. A word of warning. Do not leave the garage remote in your unit and lock the unit before you depart to leave the apartment or you may be stuck in the garage. There is no exit switch to hit and you need the remote. The operators were not particularly helpful and said we needed to wait for the cleaner at 12.00 noon (we were flying out 12.15) or door knock. We therefore needed to door knock on the day of departure and lucky enough a resident let us out. Aparft from that small glitch which was our fault for not really thinking, the unit was brilliant. Will be going back.

The apartment was superb with modern and stylish fixtures and fittings.
The staff were very helpful and availalbe both in and out of hours.
The only thing I would say that was bad was the offer of a welcome pack. I paid $50 for a breadstick, a small lump of goat's cheese and a bottle of wine. More thought could have gone into the preparation of the welcome pack, I didn't think I got my $50 worth.
There were also no champagne glasses in the apartment.
The pizza shop next door was excellent, and the apartment is very convenient to trams and the beach.Response from Espresso Apartments - 09/06/2011

We had a great time here. The apartment had everything we needed and was in a great location. We felt safe and secure. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms perfect. It was child friendly even though our kids were 10 and 13. It was close shopping, restaurants and the tram stop. If we come back to Melbourne we would definately stay here again.

We booked the apartment over the internet and found communication with esspresso apartment very good. All information we needed was on the web site.
We found the property perfect for our stay.It was situated in St Kilda so was convenient for every thing.there is an underground car park which was great. The apartment was clean and well stocked with modern furniture and equipment. The bedrooms were large and airy with great a/c units which coming from the UK we greatly appreciated. The property is on the third floor( maybe 4th I cant quite remember) so the traffic noise was not a problem and has a little balcony to watch the world go by.We are visiting Melbourne again at New Year and have already booked our stay at the same apartment.I would definately recommend this apartment for both families and couples. -

Great location and lovely views over St Kilda.
We had troubles checking in though as we were given the wrong code and couldn't get in contact with anyone as it was out of business hours that we checked in and there was no after hours phone number.
There were a few let-downs, such as towels weren't supplied for every occupant and the heater didn't work, no spare toilet paper supplied.
On a whole, the place was nice and the location was perfect - walking distance to shopping, food and transport.Response from Espresso Apartments - 09/06/2011
