Sydney, AustraliaDelighful family home stay.
Left on 08/17/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We stayed with Debbie and her family for a week at the end of July 2012 and had a most welcoming and enjoyable time. The room, bed and facilities were most comfortable and the breakfasts and two dinners we had there were top notch. Debbie was a lot of fun and fully helpful about anything we asked. We felt like we were staying with long time family friends and would undoubtedly stay there again if travelling in Normandy. The surrounding countryside is peaceful and lush and walks round the nearby lake were most pleasant. Being some 8km from the nearest main town (Vire) you do need a car.

We have just returned from a week at Debbie's wonderful B+B. A family of 5 (children aged 11,8 and 4), we had a great room with bunk-bed room attached and had a great stay. It is a beautiful and peaceful spot with great access to lots of interesting places. The welcome was great and we felt right at home straight away! Lovely people, house, garden, pets and scrumptious food - thanks so much!

LondonA fab B&B; with fine dining
Left on 07/30/2011 for a stay in October 2010
I was fortunate enough to stay at this family-run B&B; in Normandy.
If this charming home of Debbie and Remy Duprays doesn't lead you to be back soon I should be very surprised.
Weather you take trips to the historical surroundings and visit Caen/Bayeux and the stunning tapestry or you visit the D-Day beaches nearby or you simply take advantage of the surrounding country side and enjoy the beautiful walks it offers - whatever you do during the day, my advice to anyone staying at Debbie and Remy's is that you take advantage of the offer of dinner.
The meals served at La Maison du Bocage are worthy of the highest praise.
If there was a B&B; equivalent of a fine dining guidebook this establishment would not be left out. This becomes hardly surprising when chatting to your hosts you find out that their respective backgrounds and expertise in hospitality was gained amongst others on the Qeii and the London Savoy Hotel.
They are also able to offer advice whatever your queries may be and have the advantage of in-depth local knowledge of things to do that might not be in your guidebook.
I will be back before long. -

Left on 07/20/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We were made to feel very welcome right from our arrival, which was made all the more special since we had spent a full day travelling and didnt arrive until almost midnight. At no point did this seem to be a problem.
The bedroom was very clean, spacious and comfortable and breakfast offered plenty of choice.
Debbie was always more than willing to offer advice on opening times etc for days out and was always keen to find out any more information we needed in order to ensure our stay was the best it could be. We couldnt have asked for a better place to stay.
We were unlucky with the weather during our holiday but didnt really notice since the welcome we received and the rest of our stay at La Maison du Bocage was warm, bright and sunny. We were made to feel less like guests and more like friends. -

Great directions were given and were needed. Although we arrived late there was a lovely home cooked meal there for us.
Travelled with our 6 and 3 year old and who loved the garden, food and the local walks. This is a true family run business Debbie and her family were very welcoming, fun and couldn't be more helpful. The accommodation was fantastic with the kids in bunkbeds in a seperate room just off our double (which was en-suite) we all got a great sleep followed by a delicious breakfast. Will be returning in the future. -

Left on 11/04/2010 for a stay in August 2010
The welcome we received at the guesthouse was incredibly warm. The owners, Debbie and Remy went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The food was excellent too. The guesthouse is located in a little village called Saint Manvieu Bocage, right at the heart of Normandie and we never tired of things to do and see in the surrounding area. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!

From Cassie the labrador's welcoming barks, to Debbie and Remy's wonderful cooking styles, our stay with the Dupray Family was first rate from start to finish. Their location in the countryside town of Saint Manview Bocage was convenient for travels to all the local attractions. The house and accommodations were beautifully decorated and very comfortable and clean. Just down the road is a large lake, perfect for walking, running, and boating. Staying with and getting to know the Durpray Family was a wonderful experience and we would be happy to return again, along with highly recommending a stay for anyone.

Visited this lovely place recently, with my husband,as we were visiting several areas in Normandy and Brittany.
Only stayed one night as we were moving on but could not have had a more pleasant time.
Not only a lovely house and furnished well, but the bubbly welcome of Debbie and her husband was excellent.
Beds and linen first class and breakfast as good.
I would recommend this vacation home to anyone. -

Was travel weary when arrived but soon were lifted by the pretty (but tiny) village and nice appearance of place. Was welcomed by Debbie who promptly made us a lovely cup of tea and had made fresh cakes which went down well. Debbie cooked us a nice meal and also did a good job feeding our 8 year old who is not so food adventurous. We booked two rooms and 2 bathrooms which worked well for us. Only slight negative was my Husband is 6' 2" and found the bed on the small side due to there being a head and footboard. Also the put-u-up bed for my eight year old was not too comfy. But all said we had a good time overall. Bells did not even wake my teenager. Would recomend it for familes with small children as they have great garden and play area and Debbie's children were friendly too.

Left on 08/24/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Debbie, husband Remy, their two children and dog Cassis, could not have given my mother and I a more friendly welcome. On a girly week away, we stayed five nights in this peaceful home and has a great time. A guest fridge proved very useful in storing food for picnics, the room was spacious, light and quiet. A special lounge for guests, enabled us to watch a movie on a couple of evenings - a real treat. Nearby is the Vire Golf Club, a fairly challenging and very pretty course. The course is expensive, but staying at the B&B; you recieve half price rounds - which saved us a lot of money. We also used the free tennis courts which was a super addition. One evening we choose to have an evening meal at the B&B; - a wise choice. The food was delicious - beouf burgandy, followed by delicious apple tart - (the meal is normally 4 courses, but we chose to have two, as I have a small appitite). Debbie, even brought us out cups of tea and little cakes, when we were sitting in the garden reading. I would highly recommend a stay at this B&B; if you like good value for money, friendly hosts, golf, peace & quiet, tennis and cycling. The only disadvantage is that most 'special places', i.e. Mont St. Michel, Bayeaux etc are an hours drive away, which can be a little tiring if you are not fond of spending a long time in a car.

We stayed for two very enjoyable and relaxing nights at the Saint Manvieu Bocage on our way to Quimper, Brittany – we could easily have stayed longer. From the moment we arrived we were relaxed, Debbie, Remy, Amy and Liam and Debbie’s parents made us feel very welcome, the glass of wine and the home made cakes worked to!
A lovely bedroom with small room off with a bunk bed - a perfect solution for our family accommodation requirements (two boys age 6 and 7).
Large garden for the boys to run around in and make friends with Cassis the dog, Smokey the cat , the guinea pigs and not forgetting the hen and her chicks – the boys loved it – we loved it!
All close to the attractions of Normandy.

Debbie and Remy have a beautiful family and a lovely property centrally located to the Beaches of Normandy, Bayeux, and Mont St Michel, three or our "must sees" on this trip. Debbie and her mom also offered suggestions on where to go for copper and French linen, specialties to the region. On their advice, we visited Villedieu Les Poeles and were so pleased. There is a Copper workshop, a Bell Foundry and a Pewter workshop in this quaint little town. It was worth a visit. We enjoyed the homemade jams at breakfast and the conversation in the evenings. A charming B&B;!

LondonWedding Guests at Church in St Server, Calvados
Left on 06/03/2010 for a stay in May 2010
I stayed at La Maison du Bocage, as I was a guest at a friends wedding, in the pretty village of St Server, Calvados approximately 2 and a half miles away. Debbie and Remy and family made us all so very welcome and did everything to make our stay fun and comfortable. The rooms are lovely and my en-suite shower and toilet spotless. Debbie and Remy have great knowledge of the area and helped organise; outings, taxis and places to go.
We had the pleasure of having a 4 course meal prepared by Debbie, fine cuisine, the food was all hand prepared and made from locally grown and farmed produce. It was wonderful. The house is set in a lovely garden by a church and the sound of the church bells are thunderous. A great place to be far away from the madding crowds in lush green landscape so loved by artists, including Boudin and the Impressionists.
Debbie and Remy are a unique blend of both English and French hospitality and they really do go that extra step to provide their guests with luxury and comfort. Oh yes and Debbie's jams of; apricot & strawberry, blackberry & Red currant and rhubarb with croissants and fine French bread guarantee you will start the day off sweet.
It's lovely to know that there are people about that are so generous and welcoming.

We stayed at La Maison du Bocage in April while exploring Normandy. It had a lovely family atmosphere and Debbie and Remy made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation itself was good and meals were delicious. We visited variuos places while we were there including the Normandy beaches (about an hour away)and the Bayeux Tapestry but we also went to some lovely places suggested to us by Debbie and Remy, as they know the local area so well. We thought the accommodation was well located for visiting many different places in Normandy.

We were made to feel very welcome indeed. The Duprey family have a lovely home and we felt very much part of it, although we had our own lounge and dining room.
The food was lovely and I really enjoyed staying in a small village which was picturesque and friendly. We had the best of both worlds with the family being both English and French.
The situation is perfectly placed for the second world war sites and the Medieval venues.

We stayed here and we enjoyed both the Home and the family who owns it. This is a quaint and quiet little Bed and Breakfast. There was plenty of food and drinks at breakfast, the bed was good and the rooms were warm & clean. As for the location, it worked out well for us, since we were driving the Normandy area for 3 days. Deborah and her family are very nice and fun to be around. The only minor drawback might be the church bells that ring at 7:00 am every morning, located just across the road. But, we used the bell ringing as our alarm clock. We would go back if we are ever in the area again. Thanks Deborah!

There is not enough space here to described how awesome this property is. With the welcome we received right from the moment we stepped out of the car, we felt completely at home and relaxed. The facilities are excellent and the property is conveniently located to D-Day beaches, Mont St. Michel and the rest of the coast. Debbie and Remy and their family are wonderful people, who you would love to call friends or have as neighbours. AND, oh my goodness the cooking is probably the nicest meals we have ever tasted. The family is multi-lingual so it made things alot easier to understand. Nothing was a hassle for our hosts, who assisted us with information regarding attractions and even posting souvenirs home.
I cannot say enough great things about La Maison du Bocage. Would we return to this property? Let's just say that we were lucky that we didn't come here first on our trip, because we may not have gone anywhere else. Thank you for a wonderful end to our holiday, we found none better accross all of France. -

This is just what a BnB is meant to be like! The family is really friendly and make you feel very welcome. Both Remy and Debbie have worked in the hotel business so they know how to run their business, the food is great, both breakfast and optional evening meal. The accommodation is comfortable and practical, with ensuite rooms and a visitors lounge and dining area. The village is quiet but in a very pretty area, so very quiet at night. The house has character - being an old presbytery, and has been carefully modernised. They are a hard working family and make an effort to make your stay enjoyable. The whole family are bilingual, mixing French and English, so this really helped us plan our stay. We stayed here in 2007, and came back in 2009 to do more exploring of this charming part of France. I thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Left on 09/09/2009 for a stay in May 2008
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying a week at “La Maison du Bocage” in France’s Normandy area.
We were treated very well by our hosts Debbie, who is English, and Remy, who is French, and their charmingly bilingual children, Amy and Liam.
The room we were given in their home - an 18th Century Presbytery - was spotless and more than adequate for our needs. We had our own bathroom with a shower and a lovely view of the garden.
Breakfast was plentiful - enough to get us on our way each day - and the two dinners we booked in for were delicious four-course affairs...very reasonably priced with wine or cider included.
Debbie helped us plan our days exploring the region. Everything was within an hour’s drive - the Normandy beaches, Mont Saint-Michel, Bayeux, Caan, St. Malo, to name a few of the places we visited. Debbie also planned and booked a day trip for us by ferry to the Isle of Jersey, including a bus tour of the island - a special treat for us Canadians.
We also spent a relaxful day in the village and surrounding area, including a lovely walk around the local lake.
We were so grateful to have found Maison du Bocage and would love to return some day. Thank you Duprays! Especially for the opportunity to attend our first “Boot Sale”....

La Maison du Bocage is a lovely, quiet, comfortable guest house in beautiful countryside. The family who own it are very friendly and accommodating and the whole experience was great.

La Maison du Bocage is old, comfortable, homely and perfect for a holiday in Normandy.
The garden is superb and the hosts are wonderful.
The best golf course in Normandy is just a couple of miles away and Debbie Dupray can get a good reduction on the cost.
We had a great time. -

La Maison du Bocage is a charming B&B. This old stone house, once the presbytery for the nearby church, is in a lovely rural village conveniently located for day trips to the beaches and Bayeux. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed particularly the friendly personality of the hosts.

We stayed here for one night, and received a warm welcome from all the family. The room was comfortable, in french country style. We had dinner there too which was good home cooking. Breakfast the next morning was cooked with good fresh ingredients.
Thank you. Great place to stay to break our long journey. The welcomecould not have been warmer. -

We had a wonderful stay in August. We arrived to a warm welcome of tea and cakes in the garden. The proprietors are friendly and welcoming. The property is centrally based for the 'D' Day beaches and many more interesting places. The evening meals were excellent and good value for money. The only regret is that we only stayed three nights!

We have stayed before,we will stay again. The hosts, one French one English (what could work better) are so welcoming warm and friendly. They help point you in the right direction of what your family fun filled desires are. They are able to include both your breakfast and evening meal, (evening at very reasonable extra cost)I would highly recommend the evening meals they are both generous in size and taste. We are a large family, trying to get six of us in a connecting room is more often a problem, not here. From reasonable room rates to food there really is no reason not to try it, but be warned you'll be back again.

L'accueil fut chaleureux.
