Wont be disappointed!
OklahomaA wonderful secluded house!
Left on 06/07/2013 for a stay in May 2013
I dont usually take the time after a vacation to write reviews, however this house was everything everyone said it was. On the website and all the reviews. We went to this area to visit the Cumberland Island (have to go if you love the outdoors!)and then make our way thru the rest of the state up to the mountains..(have another gorgeous house there to stay at if you want to know where!) However this was so fun, very clean, peaceful. Had a blast taking canoe down to water. Went to go find an alligator but didnt find one...just heard one jump in water...
We saw the area on "North america" series and it really is just as interesting as it was described. The host was very nice and friendly. he made sure everything was mowed and beautiful for us. He refunded us the deposit the next day we left...before we arrived home! -

Stillwater, MNIdeal for our family
Left on 04/03/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We found this beautiful Vrbo to be exactly what our family (2 parents, 2 teens) needed for a relaxing and refreshing week away from the cold and snow. The home is magnificent inside; huge, well equipped kitchen; large and comfortable living and dining areas; 3 bedrooms- excellent for one boy and one girl. We enjoyed hiking, canoeing and kayaking, reading, grilling, doing a puzzle, and just hanging out. Since we hadn't been to Georgia before, we did some day trips also, which were in easy reach, even with the secluded location of the home. The owners were super-helpful. Would love to come again if we are able!

When I reserved this spot on the Satilla river, I did not know it would be so modern with everything imaginable even the shampoo and dish liquid. If you want a quiet place to just relax and watch the wildlife, this is the place. I want to do it all over again in the near future. We saw alligator, possums, owls, one redbellied water snake. Had lots of hikes around the camp and spent lots of time on the swimming dock. Also, St. Simon was nice to visit. We took one day sight seeing, but did not have any desire to venture out again and leave our beautiful spot on the Satilla. Thank you Charlie for sharing with us. Gail Johnson, Vicksburg, ms

Macon, GAGreat place to unplug, unwind, and absolutely relax!
Left on 06/07/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Baileys Mill is a wonderful place to go if you want to unplug from your hectic schedule, unwind from the worries of your everyday life, and just completely relax. When we weren't in canoes paddling in the Satilla River, we were relaxing on the 2nd story deck overlooking the river! Our evening meal of steaks prepared on the downstairs grill, salad, potatoes, and baked Vidalia onions was wonderful out on that deck! If you don't want to paddle while you are fishing, just bring a little trolling motor, and you're all set. If you paddle, you'll be so quiet, you'll see all sorts of area wildlife. The house was exactly what the pictures show, and every detail was taken care of by our hosts. We've stayed here 3 times now, and hope to go again. There's lots of space for children to run around without bothering anyone (this site is Very Secluded). For extra fun, let your children bring a tent to camp in! You're an hour's drive from lots of things to do, but we rarely drive out -- we go to Bailey's Mill to really get away. This place costs just a hair more than a Hampton Inn room, but you get so much more (3 BR, 2 Bath, kitchen, and the river, for example!) We recommend it highly.

Beautiful, serene, relaxing with all the comforts of home! We loved Bailey Mill so much we plan on making this one an annual trip. Everything you need is there and the property is centrally located for day trips from the house to all the locations listed in the property's description. On July 13 my husband, 10 yr old son and myself arrived at Bailey Mill river house for a 4 day stay. I was very impressed with how nice the house was. Everything was provided. We only needed clothes and food. This was a wonderful house in a fantastic river location. We brought our boat and used a nearby boat ramp. Then we were able to keep the boat at the dock there at the house. We enjoyed days on the river and relaxing in the house. We will be returning to enjoy this place.

Left on 08/20/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We thoroughly enjoyed our family retreat at Bailey Mill! There's lots of room to spread out and play in and around this house - Bocce Ball, baseball, canoeing, fishing, roller skating and biking were among our favorite activities. Star gazing from the dock = amazing! It's a wonderful, secluded getaway which is just a short drive to Jekyll and St. Simon's Islands and other must see attractions. I hope we can go back soon!

We were looking forward to a chance to be with friends and family while enjoying nature. Boy, we were certainly not disappointed! We especially enjoyed the canoes. We saw swallowtail kites, a rattlesnake (in the road), armadillo, giant grasshoppers and friendly dragonflies. The riverhouse is furnished to meet every need. We'd love to go back. Thanks, JD

GeorgiaRelaxed and so peaceful on the river with everything you need to
Left on 07/17/2010 for a stay in July 2010
After receiving the map and keys from the owner well in advance the adventure was on. The map was great and all the details were in place to make it easy to find. Road signs and mileage were correct and needed to make this an easy find.
Upon arrival at the home the entrance really made you feel sucluded and sucure all in one. Driving up to house the view of the river and dock made you want to go there first before entering the home. Instructions with what key went with each door was assuring. The house was very clean and well organized. Kitchen large and very well lighted.
Bedrooms big enough and plenty of closet space. Bath and a half was good.
My focus was on the river and dock where I spend hours watching the flow of the river and birds flying over the picture perfect river. A little warm in the middle of the day, but a nice breeze in the morning and evening.
Everything you needed was there from canoeing to grilling and more. If you brought enough food, no need to leave except to venture or explore. I personally did not want to leave, everything I needed was right there.
Looking forward to doing it again because it was so peaceful and relaxing. Nothing to do but enjoy the peace and quiet of a beautiful river and its surroundings. -

Waynesville, GeorgiaThis location provides remoteness yet it is close to everything.
Left on 06/15/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We really enjoyed ourselves. I never imagined we could have so much fun in the absence of a television or electronic games. We also have never stayed in a place so remote that offers so much by way of peace and tranquility but that is also so close to everything. The biting flies kept us from exploring much, but nature doesn't take a break so that we can. Just stock up on insect repellent. There's a product sold in Folkston at the ace Hardware called Swamp Gator - it's alcohol and Deet-free and is made of all-natural ingredients like peppermint. It worked for us. This location on the river is tranquil and nearly perfect. If you have personal watercraft you will get some great use of the river here! The house is totally awesome and has all the necessary amenities.

This house is unique because it offers everything you could possibly want to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable and is situated in a setting that is both peaceful and beautiful.
You get modern day comfort right out in the countryside.
There are trails to explore on the property and kayaks to paddle in and a large deck on which to just sit and watch the river drift by. There are also books to read, games to play and just about everything has been thought of by the very accomodating owners.
If rest and relaxation is what you are after, Baily Mill is most definately the place for you.
We hope to go back soon. -

We spent our spring break at Bailey Mill this past week. My husband, myself and two kids (17 and 6 years old). We absolutely fell in love with Bailey Mill. Such beauty and peacefullness! We really enjoyed canoeing up and down the river and the long walks through the woods. My husband enjoyed some turkey hunting and we took a trip to Jekyll Island and the St. Marys riverfront, as well as Crooked River State Park. Bailey Mill is a great location near so much yet secluded in it's own private little paradise. I highly recomend if your looking for the perfect vacation look no further than Bailey Mill. We most certainly will be regular visitors of Bailey Mill way into the future. The Youngbloods Jasper, GA

Bailey Mill is one of the most beautiful and secluded vacation spots in the south. The home is spacious and well stocked. Bring your food and you're ready to go.
This is our third year at Bailey Mill. There is no other place where you can leave all your worries behind for a week. The home is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Every need has been thought about and addressed. The beds are very comfortable with plenty of linens provided.
The river is amazing and the provided canoes are a great way to experience it. The large property provides days of exploring and hiking.
The information guide provided by the owners in the home when you arrive gives a real head start to planning your outings. You can be as busy or as non-busy as you want.
This is truly a retreat and we highly recommend Bailey Mill to those who are looking for a relaxing experience. We are planning our next stay already!

Southeast GeorgiaPerfect. Quiet, Peaceful. Immaculate. A trip to be repeated time
Left on 03/09/2010 for a stay in March 2010
I have visited Bailey Mill numerous times in practically every month of the year. Besides the place itself, surprising one with its sudden appearance at the end of a grassy/dirt access road, there is the sand and clay road - always revealing a surprise flower or animal. The river and wind and sky have always been constant and wonderful companions. This time of year, the Swallowtail Kites visit the river; they nest upriver in the tall pines. Near the dock, a Great Crested Flycatcher always makes a nest in the cavity of a tree limb. You will enjoy it enough to immediately tell someone else - AND plan for your next trip.
