Description from the owner

A charming, historic cottage in the heart of St Mawes, the most sought after village in Cornwall. The old Harbour Master's cottage is right on the harbour front , within easy walk of sandy beaches, the historic St. Mawes Castle and with ferries from the quayside taking you to Falmouth for the Maritime Museum, or to Place Manor to walk round to St. Anthony's lighthouse. The Eden project is nearby, as are the wonderful gardens of Trellissick, Durgan and many others.

This self-catering holiday cottage is well-equipped and beautifully kept. However the original Cornish cooking range has bee restored so that on cold winter's nights it...Read more

The View Made Up For the Cold!!!

Left on 09/27/2011 for a stay in February 2011

Fantastic location on the harbour with superb views. We went in February and the cottage was very cold. Could not achieve much heat from the storage heaters. Bathroom dreadfully cold and very small. A shower cubicle would be more appropriate. St Mawes is a lovely place to stay and the position of Manor Cottage is superb.

      Beautiful Cottage in idyllic location

Left on 08/23/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Loved our stay at Manor Cottage. The accommodation is very comfortable, clean, well maintained and full of character. Being ideally situated right on the harbour in the idyllic fishing port of St Mawes it is the perfect place to relax or explore the Roseland Peninsular.

Great pubs, Restaurants, and amenities are all within minutes walk of the cottage. The Victory Inn serves a mean pint of Doom Bar, we recommend St Mawes Hotel for the Moules Mariniere and the entertaining Landlord.

Can't wait for our next visit to Manor Cottage and St Mawes.

Charming comfortable cottage in idyllic location

Left on 04/17/2011 for a stay in August 2010

Great cottage, good living, kitchen and bedroom space.
It is tucked away behind the harbour, so it's a very good location for beaches, boat trips, sailing, or just sitting on the terrace and looking out over the water.St Mawes is fabulous for sailing, and the walks are good . There are a few pubs and restaurants, friendly and good standard. Also food shop, banks and galleries Being some way from the main road it is not overrun with visitors.Good for day trips to Eden project, maritime Museum and St Ives.

The most beautiful place in the world

Left on 04/06/2011 for a stay in September 2010

St Mawes hold so many wonderful childhood memories - long golden summer days messing about in boats, on the beach and exploring small coves and estuaries - rather like swallows and amazons. Manor cottage is a perfect small retreat - lovely and fresh for those occasional hot days, but also cosy for the inevitable stormy days to snuggle up on a sofa and read a good book. Planning to go back this year for sure.

      haven of peace

Left on 04/05/2011 for a stay in January 2011

Our first taste of St Mawes in the depths of winter required a very special venue . This was exceptional . Tucked away in a most convenient corner of the harbour, 10 seconds from the Victory Inn with its real ales and friendly well stocked Coop store ,we were perfectly set up for a great New Year's Eve.Inside, everything was attractive , fresh and comfortable making a wonderful ambience including the fully functioning cast iron range.Clearly this cottage had been designed by owners with considerable experience of seaside holidays . Even on the wetter days there was always plenty to look at across to the Falmouth ferry landing and the lobster -pot winter store out on the harbour mole .
