Tamworth, Staffordshire, EnglandFantastic apartment with great views
Left on 06/04/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We booked this apartment after reading other excellent reviews and are so glad we did as it exceeded our expectations. It is a wonderful apartment with great views of the harbour from the lounge, diner and kitchen. The balcony off the lounge is a great place to sit and watch the activity in the harbour with the men repairing their boats and going about their business. There is another lovely view from both the bedrooms of the little bay where you can go and swim. The apartment is large and spacious, very well equipped with plenty of wardrobe space. There are some places to eat local to the apartment but the bus stop is just up the steps from the apartment where you can catch the bus to Bugibba one way or to Mellieha the other way and spend the evening there. 12 euros for a 7 day bus ticket was very good value. The owner of the apartment, Monique, was extremely helpful and there to greet us when we arrived. The apartment was unavailable for the first 2 days we wanted to stay but Monique arranged for us to stay in another apartment for the first 2 days and then move to this one when vacant. Her own artwork on the walls also gives the apartment that homely feel to it. We would definitely love to return to Malta and will definitely want to stay in this apartment again. Thanks to Monique for letting us stay in this wonderful apartment and making our first visit to Malta a memorable and enjoyable one.

Leiden, The NetherlandsVery relaxing to watch the fisherman during sunset
Left on 05/06/2013 for a stay in May 2013
The view is uninterrupted, not only from the balcony, but also from the kitchen area and living room. The apartment overlooks a nice harbour, where always fishermen are busy with their boats. Painting, repairing their nets, and so on.
On maps.google.com it is difficult to find the apartment, because Google only shows a slipway at the roundabout at the start of Triq San Pawl. In reality this slipway turns out to be a quay which runs along Triq San Pawl to the harbour. From this quay you see the modern apartment, with its bright-blue window-framing.
The bar and restaurant next to the apartment has been closed down, like many other shops and restaurants in St Pauls and Xemxija.Response from monique raniolo - 05/08/2013

Hi Gregor ,
Im glad that you liked the apartment so much . Unfortunately you can not use electrical appliances in the bathrooms because for or safety reasons it is illegal for builders and electricians to install plugs in the bathrooms . Im sure this is not just in Malta. Also Many of the restaurants were closed because it was low season . Now they are all opening up again as the weather is warming up . You were lucky that you had a quiet and peaceful time with out to many tourists . Hope we will see you again some time .
Kind regards

Cahuzac sur VereWhat a gorgeous appartment !
Left on 02/23/2013 for a stay in February 2013
The views are just lovely . The main room with a great balcony looks over the little harbour with fishing boats, and the bedrooms look out to sea. There is everything you could want for a good holiday base...all the equipment to make it easy. The style and decor is modern and attractive , and everything is very comfortable and ultra clean. It's close to amenities but off the road via steps so nice and quiet. Monique was there to meet us and show us how things worked , and the file with it all written down for when you forget. She was very helpful with the requests we had, couldn't have done more. If you're looking for an appartment in Malta that is quiet and luxurious, and convenient ...look no further.

Hamburg, GermanyBeautiful, spacious apartment with stunning views!
Left on 11/02/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We stayed with our 2-year old and our newborn (3 months) daughters for 11 nights in this beautiful apartment and we just had a lovely holiday! With two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a big living room/kitchen and a nice terrace it is very spacious. Literally everything is available (fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, etc.), but of course the biggest pro of this apartment are the beautiful views. From the living room and terrace there is a beautiful view over a small harbour and a beautiful sunset and at the back from both bedrooms you look out over a small beautiful bay and st. Pauls Island.
It is nicely located close to a few of the most beautiful beaches of the island and we would definitely recommend to hire a car to enjoy most of the island. Swimming is also possible in the small bay at the back of the apartment. Right next to the apartment is a nice small, but popular restaurant/bar with twice a week live (jazzy) music which we really enjoyed listening to from the terrace.
Despite some unfortunate family problems for the owner, she did make sure that we were well received on our arrival and she did take the time to meet with us before we left. Something we really appreciated.
We would definitely recommend this beautiful apartment to everyone and we are surely considering to come back one day! -

Salisbury, United KingdomPerfection in St Paul's Bay
Left on 10/13/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Modern, clean and stylish apartment, extremely well equipped, with extras such as wifi, phone and DVD. Location is superb with swimming literally on your doorstep and the balcony overlooking the jetty used by the fishing boats; we saw 130 sword fish and a small shark being unloaded from one returning boat. We are regular visitiers to St Paul's Bay so knew what to expect of the area but we didn't expect to find an apartment this good! Watch out for the locals descending for bbqs and a swim and the weekends in volume; you may not get your car out but all fun to watch from the balcony.

North Sydney, AustraliaA wonderful Malta experience
Left on 10/03/2012 for a stay in September 2012
What a surprise and what a joy. Our first visit to Malta brought us to this wonderful unit at St Paul's Bay where we spent a week and a half of peaceful relaxation. We wanted for nothing and used the place as our exploration base of the island. Water view sunrises from our bedroom each day, morning and afternoon swims in the Mediterranean almost outside our front door, sunset drinks and local cheeses on our private balcony watching the boats gentle rocking in St Paul's Bay. A wonderful holiday experience. Monique, your description undersells the unit.

Newcastle upon TyneLuxurious apartment with Stunning View of St Pauls Bay
Left on 08/20/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We stayed in the apartment for ten days in august 2012.
The first floor apartment (with lift access) is situated overlooking St Pauls Bay with all the boats and yachts bobbing about in the water in front of the balcony.
The area is quiet with a few restaurants and bars in St Pauls.
There is a bar with a restaurant above nearby.
The meals are excellent and the bar has great jazz on a Thursday and Sunday nights (closed Mondays).
We got about using the arriva bus transport with bus stops only a minute away.
Valetta is about 50 minutes away and you can also travel across to Mosta with a change to Mdina.
The bus fare is 2.60 euros for a day pass so you can use the bus to hop on and off during the day and then use it a night to go further afield perhaps to Bugibba for a meal.
We loved Malta and Gozo with the only problem(?) being there was a heatwave with temperatures above 100F!
Our host was Monique Raniolo who was very friendly and arranged a taxi transfer both on arrival and departure.
I would like to extend thanks to Monique for allowing us to leave our bag at her own apartment and wait there later for our taxi home.
Definitely going the extra mile' there! Thank you!
We had a lovely memorable holiday.Response from monique raniolo - 09/13/2012

Wonga Park Victoria AustraliaIt was hard to say goodbye
Left on 02/01/2012 for a stay in May 2010
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at St pauls Bay.
The apartment is well situated at the waters edge with views of the picturesque bay from every room. It was most relaxing to sit and watch the colourful fishing boats come and go during the day; the beautiful sunsets and the lights at night. To be able to take a swim literally steps from the door was an added bonus.
We found the apartment itself most welcoming, bright and spacious with tasteful furnishings and attention to detail. The kitchen was very well equipped and easy to maintain. It was hard to leave. -

Left on 01/16/2012 for a stay in October 2011
We found this modern apartment with it's beautiful views of historic St Paul's Bay really quite stunning.
Comfortable, with all mod cons of the best quality, making us feel very much at home as soon as we arrived.
Swimming was most accessible, only 20 meters from the front entrance. Beautiful clear blue water.
An excellent little general store only a few minutes around the little bay made for a pleasant early morning walk for bread milk and papers!
Even though there is a nearby bus stop we enjoyed the location so much it was sometimes hard to make the effort to see the rest of the island.
We have recommended a stay here to friends, and will book a return visit in 2012.

We stayed for a month and it more than lived up to our expectations - modern, stylish, comfortable, very clean, peaceful, secure and very well equipped with the mod cons. Loved being so close to the water and so easy to access for a swim. The owner, Monique, was extremely helpful and answered all our questions. The location is perfect - a fabulous little fishing village a real taste of the past. Sitting on the balcony watching the world go by at sunset was amazing. Hard to leave and we have booked again this year and are bringing friends...thank you for a wonderful holiday!

This stylish two bedroom apartment on the water's edge at St. Paul's Bay offers the all amenities necessary to make your stay in Malta memorable. It's a home away from home. I loved the simple, classy decor and the beautiful views from both the living room and the bedrooms. After a day of sightseeing we always looked forward to coming home and relaxing in the welcoming environment offered by this flat.Having the sea at our feet gave us the feeling that we were living on a private cove. Next time in Malta, I will definitely stay here again!
