Shelton, ConnecticutGood experience overall
Left on 11/05/2012 for a stay in July 2012
There were five of us - Mom, Dad, two sons (15 and 10) and a Grandma, and we found this apartment perfect for our needs. We had to improvise a bed out of a couch for our 10 years old, but he was quite happy on it. We requested extra bedding ahead of time, and we got what we needed. The apartment is in a 150+ years old building with gorgeous high ceilings, large rooms and plenty of character. It was subdivided from an even larger apartment that I'm sure saw a great deal of history within its one meter thick walls.
The location is great for walking to many attractions but it's not near metro, so plan to spend about 20 minutes of leisure walk to get to Nevsky Prospect station. There are several 24 hours grocery stores in the building and around, so getting food any time of day is easy. Several restaurants are nearby as well.
All windows face a beautiful interior yard with benches and a small playground with a number of cutest cats. You get a key to open the gates from the street and can enjoy the yard as a local. The apartment is very quiet.
On a slightly negative side, the kitchen could have been equipped better. There was no lighter for the gas stove. We don’t smoke but had to learn to use a cigarette lighter that the maintenance person brought when we asked to show us how the stove worked. There was some broken glass in the dishwasher. The light fixture in the kitchen was tricky to turn on. There were enough dishes of each kind for only 4 people, even though the apartment sleeps 6, so again we improvised. No coffee maker or any kind of container to make coffee or tea. We had to use a stock pot. It’s all minor inconveniences but fixing them would improve guests experience with the apartment.
The water heater in the bathroom gave us a hard time as well. The pilot light just wouldn’t stay on. We had to restart it every time we got back to the apartment in the evening. We were told it had to do with low gas pressure during the day.
There were two space heaters that we found very useful to dry clothes and shoes after long days of sightseeing in the rain. Nice touch!
There are no mosquito screens on windows. It was not a huge problem, but the kids got some mosquito bites. Sleeping with closed windows was too stuffy.
Beds were comfortable, bathroom clean, hot water hot, wi-fi fast.
The check-in and check-out were ok, but not without issues. We did not ask to be picked up on arrival because we came by train. We were arriving early and first were told to go to the management’s office. On the way there we got a call to go to the apartment instead because the cleaning was finished. That was nice. But then came another call that the maid could not wait for us. Ok, so we had to meet with the manager on a street corner. She gave us the key, and we walked to the apartment and let ourselves in. The beds were not made, and there was no hot water. The absence hot water was beyond the management’s control and was due to the low gas pressure issue. It was resolved by that evening. The bedding was brought to us within an hour, and we made our own beds.
We requested a ride to the airport on our departure. I had to make several phone calls to the manager, and by late evening the day before departure I got a driver’s name and a phone number. He was to meet us at the apartment at 8am the next morning. When we walked out, there was no car waiting, so I had a few nerve racking minutes thinking we would have to find our own taxi. It turned out that the driver waited for us at a different entrance to the building. He was there early, but was not given my phone number and couldn’t call me to find out where we were. I found him by calling him myself and franticly running around the building in the rain. But all ended well, and we made it to the airport on time.
All in all we had a great trip, and I would stay in this apartment again. The little negative things didn’t outweigh the overall positive experience. -

Chicago, Illinoislocation is perfect, but service is not good
Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in June 2012
First of all I like to thank the Italian manager of this company Mr. Gianluca Zoni. The booking and communication about apartment was excellent. Fast responses, detailed answers for any questions, everything was perfect.
Now about communication and service of the Russian part of this company. Check-in time was 1:00pm, we arrived at 2:00 pm. However the place was not ready for check-in. Previous quests still were in the apartment with all their luggage. They moved out at same time as we arrived. Beds were not done. Hot water boiler did not work, TV did not work at all. My husband had to fixed that water heater by himself using device's manual. The maid Galina, who checked us in, was staying next to my husband and only repeated "I don't know what to do". There were three beds in the apartment but the only one was done. Other two did not have even clean linens. After many requests they brought linens and thrown them on the beds. We did all beds by our self. Alex was trying to fix TV but no results. My father was so upset because of Soccer Euro 2012 from Poland.
Here is the summary: location was perfect, booking was perfect, check-in procedure needs to be more organised. I know the summer is the busiest time of the year but it does not excuse bad service. I'd recommend the apartment because of the location.
By the way, I asked for transfer from airport and had to pay 30 euro. But the normal taxi price is only 20 baks(600rubles). Arrival of our plane was delayed. We did not have any chances to call driver and he came to Pulkovo twice and charged as twice. And he did not have any money for change. That why his tips were huge. He is smart old guy. :-)Response from easyGroup St. Petersburg Russia - 10/11/2012

Dear Guest, as I think you've uderstood, in the day of your arrival we had a problem with previous clients, who were not present at the moment of the check out , they got out of the apartment very late and our maid Galina did her best for you, in that situation. We are very sorry for this situation, but it was not dependent on our will. About airport transfer, we completely disagree with the critics posted as 30 eur is a very honest price for a prebooked transfer from the airport to the city centre. You can of course find a cheaper transfer right at the airport as there are many unlegal drivers offering their services (they pay no tax, they can offer a better price). A legal taxi actually costs 1200 rub, which is 30 eur. About your late arrival, is absolutely normal that a driver travelling twice from the city to the airport or waiting for a long time at the airport, asks for a supplement. Gianluca - eGroup LTD

LODI - ITALYBel viaggio a San Pietroburgo
Left on 11/16/2010 for a stay in June 2010
