What a fabulous spot! We arrived in a snow storm, but within the week the temperature had risen to 27C and Spring had sprung! Such a beautiful setting with a lovely garden to sit in. The gite has everything to make a stay very comfortable and the log fire was wonderful on the cold evenings. Excellent walks very close and so much to see and do within a couple of hours driving. We can recommend a visit to Carcasonne, which recently featured in the TV programme Labyrinth. Very friendly hosts who made us feel so welcome we would highly recommend this as a place to stay for anyone wanting to "chill out" and get away from the bustle of normal life. Would love to have stayed longer especially after the long drive, and plan to stay longer next time. The French roads are so good that driving is actually a pleasure, compared with our experience in the UK.

CanterburyHow can you capture the beauty of this place on a website?
Left on 11/15/2012 for a stay in February 2010
This place was a real gem... to think I was a bit apprehensive of booking online - it looked nice on the website but when I arrived, I couldn't believe it. Surrounded by nothing but mountains and clean air, it felt magical. The wood burning stove became a true friend by the end of my trip - keeping me warm whilst I traveled to distant lands in my book. The bright sunshine during the day - I didn't think it possible to be minus five overnight and get to over twenty degrees during the day but when the sun came out - it was glorious.
I was surprised by the time I left how attached I had become to the place and the people. It was comforting everyday to to see the owners working in the gardens and collecting their wood for the following winter, always with a smile about them.
I know everywhere I stay will now have some comparison to this place. I am reticent about posting this review because it means others might also fall in love with the place and it might be booked up next time I want to come, but I have to post it because it really does have a special place in my heart! -

We had a fantastic stay in this cosy cottage accomodation. Paula and Ram made us feel very welcome which made it even more memorable for us and the kids. The accomodation is very comfortable and rustic and the river just outside made sitting in the garden listening to the water very relaxing. Lots of little extras like herbs and spices in the kitchen and fruit trees out the back made our stay even better. The meal we had in the main house was a fantastic Indian spread and very reasonably priced. It was great to just relax and do walks into the hills and the local village where there is a small shop and a great restaurant. Ram and Paula were great for imparting local knowledge and if you go in summer the lake is well worth a visit. The kids also enjoyed the boat trip through the caves along the underground river. The market in Saint Giron is a wonderfull place to stock up on local produce. We highly recommend this place for a relaxing, chilled out getaway and we hope to get back some day soon.

After having traveled to numerous places in france, it was such a treat to stay at Tourne. The sound of the river at night, the cool mountain air, the delicious and healthy food, and the warm and welcoming hosts Paula and Ram made this the best choice for an august vacation in the mountains. I'll be back again soon!

Charming cottage set in a peaceful valley in a beautiful region. Felt extremely welcome and well cared for during my stay, food was excellent, cottage was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Stunning gardens and it's own river! Enjoyed the peace and tranquillity and left feeling refreshed. Thank you for making my stay such a great experience, I will definitely be returning, hopefully bringing my whole family next year.
