As chosen in The Times as a Child and wallet-friendly summer holiday. Your accommodation in Vendee, Les Mas de Vertmarines, a modern holiday villa complex at ST JEAN DE MONTS, only 1300m from the famous long, sandy beach with two swimming pools.

Accommodation and facilities

Residence Les Mas de Vertmarines is only 1300m from the famous long, sandy beach and by the forest. The golf, shops, bars, restaurants and sporting amenities of St Jean de Monts are all nearby. The old town centre is 3km away. Try your hand at the sand yachting or watersports near the golf course.

There is an exit at the back of the residence Les Mas de V...ertmarines, that will take you to the forest, where you can enjoy excellent bike rides or walks .

Saint Jean de Monts is a great place to buy fresh food as it has many market days and places, especially in Summer. Market in Saint Jean de Monts, Vendee.

All the houses are tiled inside with white walls and many have locally made pine furniture. The doors from the terrace lead into the open plan lounge with sofa, dining and kitchen area, with open stairs which lead up to the mezzanine.

In the kitchen area there is a sink, fridge, 4 electric rings and a mini-oven and the crockery and cutlery.

The width of beds are Double :140cm, Single : 80cm.

There are blankets and pillows in the villas, but you will need to bring your own linen and towels or hire it.

CBT house for 4 to 5 persons is approximately 40m²

There is usually a double bedroom downstairs and the open mezzanine bedroom area has sleeping arrangements for 2 people.

The 5th person will sleep in the sofa bed.

There is a bathroom with a shower fitment or a shower room and you access the toilet via the bathroom.

There are 280 villas in this complex and only approx 100 are rented out direct by their french owners. The houses are in groups of 4, 6 or 8. They were built between 1995-1998.

Electricity is payable at all times, as well as the final clean if you do not want to do it yourself.

There are two heated swimming pools (one open from June to end September 9am - 8pm), a reception, a laundry, and bike hire can be arranged. The other pool will be open July/August.

There are numbered separate parking spaces as the complex is pedestrianised.

The golf, shops, bars, restaurants and sporting amenities of St Jean de Monts are all nearby.

There is a SPAR supermarket and some restaurants 1 km from the residence and the old town centre of St Jean de Monts is approximatly 3 km away.Read more

  reception was poorly staffed , closed between midday and 15.00hrs. Property was very small and very inadequately maintained with minimal cutlery, tiny cups and no kettle.
  Insufficient storage space for food items.Kitchen contained no grill nor oven, terrible set up for self catering, especially with young children. The swimming pool area was very clean and secure, and there were no other on site green spaces available to keep the children entertained. Altogether a very poor holiday experience for the price paid. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
