London, United KingdomThe best castle in France
Left on 04/24/2013 for a stay in March 2013
If you look for a real experience in a French castle, at the same time cozy and impressive, this is the place to be. Every detail, every single area is an update experience of the precious antiqueness of the building. Warm, luminous, amazingly decorated, with a well-balanced spirit between the old and the new. Then you have the pool, the outdoors, the fantastic river flowing near by. Just perfection.

Brescia, Lombardia, ItalyUn posto veramente meraviglioso

Appena posso ci torno. -

We spent ten days early January and had a truly wonderful time, the house is simply sumptuous yet not overbearing as many of these historical homes can be. The bathrooms were impeccable, something to mention when it comes to France. The house was very well staffed with Eglantine who came in to cook, she either did the shopping, asking what we wanted for meals, or did it on her own. We at first went to do the shopping with her but then gave her carte blanche (even for the menus that she varied very well) as we really never wanted to leave the house and it's glorious fire places.
We were a group of four couples but the house can sleep much more. We enjoyed the fact the owners left the Christmas tree that made it all even more comfortable. W
Some of us went a few days skiing that really is close but for the most part stayed at the house. Plan to come back, possibly in the fall as have a small seminar where I would invite the spouses.
It really was a perfect stay. -

The chateau, full of history, is beautifully situated in the village of Saint-Martory on the river bank of the Garonne surrounded by a perfect French landscape and with the view of the Pyrenées Mountains. We have had great pleasure staying there twice and we really do recommand the place.

We stayed here in late July with four other families with a wide age range of kids. There was something for everyone and the large pool kept everyone happy. The building is stunning yet unpretentious with a real homely feel about it. The staff on site were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Meals were great and they were extremely flexible with arrangements. Sitting all together near to the pool eating great food and drinking lovely wine from the chateau's cellar was a real treat! The pyranees, with all the outdoor activities it has to offer, is on the doorstep. Some good family orientated rafting near Luchon.

Left on 09/20/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We feel priviledged to have stayed in such an amazing property. The location is stunning and whilst we did venture out to the beautiful local villages, including Luchon, we were quite happy just to stay around the Chateau. We enjoyed its history and wonderful gardens and the fabulous swimming pool. We were spoilt by the first class service and will remember a truly magical holiday.

Bournemouth, UKstunning, excellent, above our highest expectations
Left on 08/23/2010 for a stay in July 2010
The castle is stunning. The mix of the ancient history of the chateau with the more recent history of the Delort family's 30 year ownership is fantastic. This is not a 'run of the mill' rental property from a 'chateau dot com' website, it has not had the character removed or been over commercialised. The building is stunning, the service is first class, the weather was great, the surrounding area was interesting and fun. We did white water rafting and mountain biking on the 2 cloudy days that we had, the rest of the time it was hard to leave the chateau. The pool area was very safe because it was fenced off so we knew young children could not get to it without supervision, the grounds were magnificent and our children played in wide open spaces. The staff were fantastic and the food was excellent, eating dinner by the pool almost every night was a real treat. We were a group of 23 (10 adults, 13 kids) and when we broke it down by person it wasn't too expensive. A holiday that will live long in the memory.

seattle, wa, USStupendous luxurious chateau experience
Left on 08/20/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We selected this place for our family re-union this year. In prior year we have had similar gatherings in a Villa in Tuscany. We were looking for a place that could accomodate 21 people - with ample place for kids to play, and of course a swimming pool. Looking at the web site we could quickly see that this chateau would be absolutely stunning, offering a very unique experience. We quickly focused our search on this place, among the myriad of options out there. The web site offered very comrephensive information about the place and its surrounding, and conversing with the owner gave us the impression that this would offer us the kind of quality experience we were looking for.
Needless to say our expectations were pretty high when we got there.
This place fit the bill perfectly. It is pretty much full service, we hardly had to lift a finger. We spent a lot of time around the pool - we especially enjoyed the outdoor dining by the pool area - very comfortable and child friendly on hot days.
We made numerous excursions to the surrounding villages, but the chateau itself was definitely the highlight of our trip.
