L'Orangerie" at PROVENCE PARAIDSE is in our restored "hamlet," on a hill just above the old town centre of Saint Remy de Provence. We are well within walking distance of all activities and shops, not more than 10 minutes on-foot along the old canal path or following the quiet, country road into town.
Sunshine guaranteed, a warm jacuzzi year-round, huge pool and terraces. Relax and enjoy! Our guests come from all around the world. We speak many languages and are here ready to help you to LOVE PROVENCE...just like we do!
This house is part of a cluster of six old, provencal farm houses, which we have recently completely restored and which are perched on a hill just over St. Remy de Provence. "La Tuilerie," which sleeps 12 people, is close by. "Le Vieil Moulin" and "La Tour de la Girouette," which sleep 6 and 8 respectively, and most recently "Le Mas de la Pierre Milliare" and "La Bastide des Micocouliers" are all just down the hill...on the other side of small streams which flow through the gardens toward the watermill and cascade to make the wheel turn slowly.

We feel incredibly lucky to have had the pleasure of staying here at L'Orangerie. You have been like a favorite uncle, except with an extra cottage in the best little village in Provence.
We will miss waking up to the sound of you knocking on the metal outside (staring at the buttery, flakey crumbs on the plate in front of me, I think that I miss that already!) With your practical advice on how to see the best of the area, we've had an absolutely fantastic time. Thanks for everything. We hope to return soon.
P.S. Don't miss Carrières de Lumière at Les Baux and La Fromagerie des alpilles. Nothing compares! -

From the moment you confirm your booking you are made to feel that your home in Provence is just waiting for you. William makes sure you are comfortable, indeed that your hopes and wishes for your Provençal holiday all become reality.
L'Orangerie is quintessentially Prevencal - a tiny haven filled with flowers, wine, books, music and food when you arrive. And don't forget the wonderful pool area.
Saint Remy itself is a wonderful place to holiday. We stayed a week and could have stayed many more. The Glannum Roman ruins, Van Gough's retreat and the town square filled with different markets are all within easy walking distance.Response from William at PROVENCE PARADISE - 05/27/2013

Thanks, Kathy!! It was a pleasure to see how much fun you were having "sans auto." Just goes to prove that two feet, plenty of things to see and do right near and a good dose of curiosity make for a very fulfilling and pleasant week's stay in our "hamlet." Come back and/or send us other great Australians!

What a wonderful stay we had in the L'Orangerie at Provence Paradise. William could not have been more helpful, and the dinner upon arrival, the warm chocolate croissants each morning, and the 30th anniversary cake and champagne were above and beyond what we could have ever anticipated. The walk to town is short, and the town is just fabulous. Unfortunately, when we were there, the pool was a tad cold for the outside temp, but the jacuzzi was a great treat after a long day of touring. L'Orangerie is just beautiful, and so comfy, we couldn't have been more pleased. You will absolutely love it here, we did!

BrisbaneThe perfect family holiday destination
Left on 07/17/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We were completely overwhelmed by the hospitality shown to us by William and the team. From the home cooked meals on arrival (including a stock of wine and breakfast goods) to the daily pastries, and the font of information about what to see and how to do it as easily as possible, no trouble was too great. L'Orangerie was perfect for our family of 4 and the children (7 & 9) loved the loft, the beautiful gardens to explore and the large pool for cooling off on a hot day. St Remy is positioned to easily access a wide range of activities, highlights were Les Baux, kayaking, the various markets and the Pont du Gard. Our stay at L'Orangerie was the highlight of our entire trip (for parents and children) and the one place we have promised we must return to. Consider yourself very lucky to have stumbled upon this hidden gem.

A wonderful place, William makes you feel welcome and safe from the minute you arrive (to a lovely dinner) until you leave. Warm croissants at the door in the morning and walking distance to the restaurants in St. Remy. Even a washer and dryer which anyone who has travelled with one suitcase knows is worth gold. Place was extremely well equipped, even books, tour guides and maps left from previous visitors. A real find.

Carla and Russel, many thanks for taking the time to post your Guests' Comments. I like your use of the words "welcome and safe..." Those are high priorities in our innkeeping efforts... something which makes us stand out from the rest. We are "descreetly present." Far from intrusive, but there in a flash, if you need us.

Our second visit to Provence Paradise, and even more wonderful than the first time. William and staff are charming, helpful, accommodating, and delightful. Our "houselet" was perfect, all the amenities we could ask for - right down to olive oil, salt/pepper, and wine! The gardens, the pool, and the town of St Remy de Provence are unmatched. We would have stayed longer if we'd had time (and if it hadn't been booked already), and we will be back soon! Thank you William.

This place is truely paradise. I have stayed there twice now and have 2 weeks booked to go back the summer of 2013. I have no doubt that it will not stop there. I have never, I say never, had an experience like this and I have done a lot of traveling and stayed a t a lot of Vrbo's. From the time you arrive you will want for nothing. The grounds are perfectly manicured, the rooms and apartments flawlessly decorated and filled with quality antiques and posh furniture. When you arrive the refrigerator will hold a very tasty evening meal complete with dessert as well as a bottle of white wine perfectly chilled. A red win lover? Not to worry, its on the fully set table complete with provancal eatery and linen. You wonder am I Brad Pitt because this sort of place is usually not available for the money us mortals can afford. I really don't understand how William the owner is able to offer this place at such a value. In fact it is such a gem that I find I want to preserve it. I walk around like an owner . I am interested in maintaining the experience. As to the owner, William, He is american but has lived in France for > 20 yrs. He is fluent in French and can get you into the best resturants and guide you to the most magnificent sites( places not even in the guidebooks). William only has one fault and it his love for rose wines. You should invite him over, this generally leads to lively conversation and a very memorable evening. But there is one warning... If you do not like life, wine, good food or French culture no need to apply...

From the moment we arrived at L'Orangerie we knew we it was going to be special - from the music playing when we arrived to the meal in the fridge, the attention to detail was second to none. We really enjoyed our stay here and William and his team made it extra special. My son really enjoyed the crossiants delivered by William and the adults enjoyed the glass of rose by the pool! William has endless knowledge about the surrounding area and is always eager to help with useful tips on how to get the most out of your holiday. William and his team really make it a holiday to remember. If that wasn't enough St Remy itself is a beauiful town to explore and great shops!

Thanks for taking the time to write, Marie. I thought of Nathan today, as he begins a new year at school. How much he enjoyed the pool and the international "collection" of kids! Hope Nathan's holiday here with us was what he needed to go courageously and full of energy into the challenges of his new class. We would be very pleased, indeed, to see you back here with us in the future.

Left on 08/28/2011 for a stay in July 2011
I recommend Provence Paradise - all of the villas - without hesitation; and I have stayed in the majority of them since it opened. I travel to this region quite often and I have not been able to find a more welcoming, warm, comfortable or convenient base from which to explore Les alpilles or surrounding areas. I know I sound effusive but it is just difficult to find that "right†spot and, once you do, you just want others to understand. The homes each have so many little touches from William - even after years of decorating, he still stops in with a bowl or little piece of art during your stay and says, "oh, this is for your villa, just put it somewhere.†You wake to warm, fresh croissants delivered to your door each morning. You can choose to spend time with other guests, if you please, or find quiet spots throughout the property or your own villa to be alone. Give William a call and have a chat to get the flavor of the place.

We absolutely loved our stay at Provence Paradise. William is a wonderful host, and helped us throughout our stay with restaurant reservations, directions, and even offered to translate for us if necessary with just a phone call to his mobile. We were late arriving, and having dinner waiting for us with a bottle of wine was such a treat. Our cottage was lovely, fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and more. The location was very convenient, you could walk to St. Remy. We will happily recommend Provence Paradise to our friends.

I hardly know where to begin. We found Provence Paradise on Tripadvisor last summer when we started looking for a place to book. At that time, it was rated number 1 in the area, and after two amazing weeks there, I can totally see why. We booked last July for 2 weeks in May and June of this year, and during the nearly year between booking and arriving, William stayed in touch and sent information about activities, etc. When we finally arrived, he greeted us with a glass of rose and dinner ready to go into the oven! L'Orangerie, and the entire grounds, were fantastic - charming, comfortable, clean and beautiful. Even though there were several other families staying on the property during our stay, it felt as if it was a private oasis - with carefully thought out private terraces and sight lines. The pool and surrounding lounging areas were gorgeous! William was incredibly helpful and friendly - he made restaurant reservations for us, and gave us great "insider" tips about parking at various tourist locations (don't forget to ask him about where to park in Isle sur la Sorge on Sunday market day!). The location in St. Remy is perfect for just about everything in that area of Provence - we easily drove to arles, Nimes, Avignon, Les Baux (you must go!), and even to Cassis. He got me into a full wine tour and even drove me to avignon to meet the guide. St. Remy de Provence is a wonderful little town, with lots of quaint streets for strolling and browsing in stores. There are a few really great restaurants and the Wednesday market is not to be missed.
I could go on and on, but I'm running out of space. I can't recommend Provence Paradise highly enough (and trust me when I tell you that I'm very, very picky). It wasn't just the place itself, but how William made us feel so welcome that will live on in our fond memories.
