Beautifully restored property and wonderful hosts.

Left on 04/14/2013 for a stay in February 2013

We stayed here in February 2013. Guy and Gaby were the most wonderful hosts. Our villa was warm and cosy during the winter. We used the fireplace in the lounge at nights which was cosy and warm. The villa is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. We were only able to stay 3 nights, but look forward to returning next time we are in Provence.

La Maison du Meunier never disappoints

Left on 12/08/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We've stayed here before, when our children were toddlers and now that they arfe pre-teens, and it has always been a delightful place to stay. La Maison is a comfortable and charming guest house with everything one needs. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and basic needs, the beds were comfortable, the house itself airy and pleasant. The swimming pool, grounds for walking and hiking are all great amenities.

The intallation is gorgeous and the surrounding landscape is a match. The owners are the most gracious and detail oriented that anyone could wish for. Settled in the middle of all the historic towns it was the perfect place to stay and make the day trips.Even the weather collaborated to offer us an unforgettable experience.
We recommend it highly for a Provenece vacation.

      Lovely Place

Left on 01/19/2012 for a stay in January 2012

We wished we had longer to enjoy this lovely cottage particularly as we arrived for a short break , at a very quiet time just after New Year.

The cottage is extremely cosy and comfortable for winter and beautifully decorated, and the estate is a lovely place to wander. We would recommend the winter for a relaxing stay in front of the fire. Even with many shops and restaurants closed in January in the surrounding villages, we really enjoyed the absence of crowds and having villages such as Gordes more or less to ourselves. It helped that the weather was glorious- cold but a beautiful blue sky each day, and to have Gaby's excellent advice. We really appreciated the effort Gaby made to score us a reservation at the hard to get into Mas De Capoun in Molleges, where we had a lovely lunch.

Hope we can return another winter.

Happy Holidays at Moulin de la Roque

Left on 01/19/2012 for a stay in December 2011

La Maison du Meunier was our home away from home for the 2011 holiday season and a perfect location to spend Christmas and explore the beauty of Provence. Guy and Gaby are fabulous hosts; always on hand when you need them, amazingly helpful, and ready to share the history of Moulin de la Roque.
We chose La Maison du Meunier for a home base so we could take day trips to nearby villages, live like locals, and relax at our "home" when we returned from exploring...we could not have asked for more!
A kitchen with everything we needed, comfortable beds, a large, modern, master bathroom and a living room with walk out patio where we entertained our French cousins that came to share a picnic with us. Everyone loved the property (you get to be a child again) and could not believe the beauty of Moulin de la Roque.
It was such a special holiday for us and we will easily put this on our list of places to return to in the future...you should too!

Moulin de la Roque is Paradise

Left on 11/08/2011 for a stay in October 2011

We had the great joy of spending two fabulous weeks at Guy and Gaby's beautiful property in Noves, France. We cannot say enough good things about the accommodations, property, and Guy and Gaby.
The units are in very old buildings which have been lovingly restored just enough to make the stay comfortable and keep the integrity of the original feel. Every detail has been addressed for comfort.
Guy and Gaby could not have been more helpful or friendly. They are very humble about their accomplishments, and honor the history of the old mill property.
The swimming pool is beautiful, there are ping pong tables ready for play, badminton nets waiting for players, a manicured grounds that wait for people to stroll, sit, or just enjoy.
Noves is a great place to journey out and explore Provence. Guy and Gaby have created a very helpful book outlining possible trips and recommendations for seeing the area.
We highly recommend Moulin de la Roque. It is a great place for families, groups, or couples wanting to relax. You will not be disappointed.

      excellent choice for exploring provence!

Left on 07/07/2011 for a stay in June 2011

we've stayed at Moulin de la Roque for 10 days during June 2011. we're a couple with a young baby

We absolutely recommend this place for anyone looking for a good base for exploring the provence, specifically the saint remy region, the alpilles, luberon, avignon, etc...

location is great, the infra is perfect, the provencal style of the houses, the pool, the garden.
Noves is a nice (very) little town and is only 5/10 minutes away by foot. (or 3 minutes by bike!)
We were there with our 2 year old baby, and the place is very safe overall for toddlers. the pool is very well protected, no cars or internal roads, etc... (inside the house is important to watch out for some dangerous stairs, but there was a door to protect that)

for those that like to do some cyclo-tourism, the region has lots of small roads to explore with very limited traffic. is important to do some map research befor hitting the road, to be sure that we got the smaller roads. there are even a few bike circuits through vecinal roads, with almost no cars at all.

Besides all of that, the owners Guy and Gaby were really nice people and they do make extra efforts to make guests feel very comfortable and to visitors with any special requests or problems (I had a problem with my car, which i accidentally got stuck in a nearby road. Guy helped me at 1am in the morning, always with a great mood!). They also have lots of tips about places to visit in the regions, restaurants, insiders tips, etc... (they won't push, so they'll offer advise only if you ask).
