Description from the owner

The perfect maison de village just steps from shops and the market in quiet historical center of St Remy within the ring road. Property dates back to the 15th century when it was possibly a carriage house. As we got on with the renovations, the little house came to life in such a charming way that we started calling it "la maison de poupée" or the "doll house" and the name stuck. Besides the bundles of charm, everything is updated and works: - air conditioning, wireless internet, HD flat screen TV, custom fitted kitchen appliances, large capacity washer/dryer, etc. Ideal for a couple or family with maximum two children. Charming House- Wonderful Memories

Left on 05/09/2013 for a stay in April 2013

Hardly a day goes by that we don't recount our wonderful stay at the Doll House in Saint Remy. The entire experience was enchanting.
The Doll House is charming and full of character. We found it to be very clean and fully furnished. Located in the old town, it is a perfect location for exploring Saint Remy and nearby towns. Restaurants, bakeries and tourist sights are all a short walk away. Mr. Carpita was helpful and our transactions with him were seamless.
We are looking forward to a return visit!

This hit the spot. A real gem nestled in the heart of Saint Remy that provided everything we hoped for: peace and quiet along with the opportunity to savor all the delights that this part of Provence has to offer.

Delightful location part of the village and not noisy

Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in April 2012

A handy place to stay quiet and yet just a few paces from shops, restaurants, and grocery and yet walking distance to the Roman ruins and lovely off road hiking trails. St. Remy gave us a central location to explore small villages and get all the way to Mediterranean coast in less then an hour.

      You should stay here

Left on 03/28/2012 for a stay in March 2012

I recommend "The Doll House" very highly. St. Remy is in the heart of Provence, and this house is in the heart of St. Remy. It is every bit as charming as the pictures show, and it is located in the most charming part of town. The kitchen is fully functional, and affords you a great opportunity to take advantage of the Wednesday food market. Stay here and have a really great week! Spend a couple of days in town, travel to nearby towns and cities, drink excellent wine, eat excellent food, and enjoy the Provencial life to its fullest. Some highlights of the house: The huge comfortable master bed, the laundry machines, the central location, the charm. You will not be disappointed. A couple of weeks have gone by since our March get-a-way and we are already very nostalgic for our week in "The Doll's House."

      a unique and wonderful experience

Left on 10/14/2011 for a stay in September 2011

As 'mature-age' newlyweds we wanted to have the opportunity to stay in one place in Provence for a whole two weeks to really relax but also, since australia is a long way to come from, to make the most of it. Staying in 'The Doll's House' was a unique and wonderful experience, taking us back in time but having every modern convenience. We were more than happy with the cottage and have fallen in love with St Remy de Provence. Apart from being delightful in itself, it is so close to many other places of interest, particularly if you have a car, which we did. I would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to anyone wanting a rich experience of Provence.

It was a convenient location for exploring Provence

Left on 09/02/2011 for a stay in August 2011

The house was well equipped and comfortable. However we found the lack of natural lights and no outdoor patio a bit confining. As a result we spent most of our time touring and returning at night ro St Remy in the evening for dinner.at many of the restaurant that you recommended. We especially loved the festivities of the bulls and horses when arrived and felt lucky to visit at this time.

Very cute cottage in a perfect position

Left on 08/25/2011 for a stay in July 2011

This was our first time using trip advisor and were impressed by the efficiency and security of using this method. We appreciated having direct email contact with the owner.
The Dolls House was very well equipped, particularly the kitchen, however a small sofa in the living room instead of two arm chairs might make a longer stay even more comfortable.
We loved the central location within St Remy, as well as the proximity to so many wonderful destinations in Provence.
We highly recommend you aim to stay in St Remy on a Wednesday for market day. Despite the very busy holiday crowds, it was great to buy fabulous local produce and then cook a great meal with it in the Doll's house kitchen.
We hope to come back one day.

Excellent aC in a heat wave

Left on 07/29/2011 for a stay in June 2011

The doll house is charming and I would definitely stay there again. There was a terrible heat wave of several days when we were there, and the doll house was a real refuge. The 15th-century construction means that the interior is all stone and tile and stayed very cool. The aC units worked well, as did everything about the place. There is an manager who responds instantly to any issues or questions and can provide travel tips and suggestions in English if needed. The place is charming and the location is a real treat. You can walk easily to the entire center village of St. Remy (inside the ring road), which makes gourmet restaurants, markets, museums, and even a street market on Wednesdays available right outside your door. The place is also extremely quiet, as it is inside the interior of the ring road and you cannot hear the traffic noise from it at all. Instead the door opens onto a quiet interior roadway where maybe 6 cars per day pass by at 5 mph. The loft-style bedroom (sleeps 1) is great for older children (a bit steep and remote for younger ones) and the beds are very comfortable. The unit has wifi and tour books and brochures. The only down side is that the sitting room can only accommodate 2 people (unless others sit on dining table chairs) and there is no couch, so we tended to hang out upstairs in the bedrooms or linger at the dining table. Very Highly Recommended.

Charming stay in the heart of the town

Left on 06/27/2011 for a stay in May 2011

My husband and I have fallen in love with Saint Remy and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the "Doll House." This jem is situated in the heart of the town just a few minutes walk to the Casino (store), Bakeries and shopping. David and Vita, the delightful owners, believe it dates back earlier than the 1800's which is what is shown over the door. It's quiet, clean and very cute.

      A true taste of France

Left on 01/20/2011 for a stay in June 2010

We asked a well-travelled friend "where in France we could go for a nice holiday?. The answer was St Remy. He said it's a great place with not too many tourists and with a great atmosphere. Having established the location for our week in paradise we needed a cosy home. The Doll's House was the icing on the cake. From the outside it looks beautifully quaint and when stepping over the threshold you enter a clean, comfortable and well maintained cottage. David is a consummate host and made us quite welcome. If you're lucky you may even be able to arrange some cooking lessons, at their chateau just out of town, with David's wife Nito who is a highly qualified chef. We had a perfect week in the Doll's House, visiting the many sights around St Remy and having wonderful little 'sleep-ins' while just looking out of the window to the enchanting sites of the old village. It's a 2 minute walk to the town square where on the weekends the school children on the town put on little plays. Didn't understand a word of French they were speaking but just being there was special. I cannot recommend the Doll House highly enough. Stay there ... You won't regret it.

We were verry happy with our experience staying at the Doll House. It is just right for a couple. The intown location allows you to walk to everything in St.- Remy and take advantage of the excellant food and architecture of the Town. I would highly recommend a dinner at Mas de Cornud, Davids cooking school, if the opportunity presents itself.

      Location, location, location!

Left on 01/14/2011 for a stay in September 2010

The Doll House is a small, charming house on one of the most attractive streets in the historic center of town. Restaurants, shops, and places of interest are all within walking distance. Parking in front of the house was almost always available. The house was very comfortable for me and my adult son. It may prove a bit small for a group of four. The bathroom is located on the ground floor with bedrooms on the upper floor. The house is well equipped and maintained. We were warmly welcomed by Jenny who briefed us on the house and the area. This was my third stay in San Remy and the location of the Doll House can not be beat.
