PLEASE SEE OUR REVIEWS ON TRIP ADVISOR, MOULIN DE LA ROQUE, NOVES. Les Cigales is a 3 to 5 bedroom house which is part of the historic domaine, Le MOULIN DE LA ROQUE. The Moulin is a stunning twelve acre gated estate situated in the heart of Provence between Saint Remy and Avignon. Completely secluded, the Moulin is accessible by two private drives shaded by old hovering Plane trees on one side and a beautiful flowing stream on the other. A little village of charming cottages/villas (each with private terrace and well secluded from the other), the Moulin de al Rouqe is spacious and private making it perfect for families with children, famil...y renuions, romantic getaways and elderly traverlers. Baron Fallon and American companion, Gabrielle Janney live on the estate and are there to assist you with anything you need whether it be translation, advice, the French culture, touring, directions or anything you need.

You can walk into the quaint village of Noves (very athentically French and non touristy) where you can enjoy the local cafés, open air market, or pick up your daily baguette at a charming patisserie. Or, take one of the paths leading off the main garden and enjoy incredible vistas on over 370 acres (150 hectares) of forest and hiking trials.

THE ESTATE is alive with the essence of the South of France where history is rich and the weather unsurpassed. When you arrive, your senses will immediately be tantalized by the scents of thyme and rosemary which grows wild all around the property as well as the gentle fragrance of lavender so famous to Provence. But the beauty of the dazzling sunlight as it bathes adjacent vineyards, orchards, and olive groves is what tourists and artists from around the world flock to Provence to experience.

BARON GUY FALLON, discovered this unique treasure 15 years ago and fell in love with it. Over the years, he has since tastefully and artfully renovated this 300 year old mill into an enchantingly attractive setting. Each year, with his companion, Gabrielle they continue to renovate and update the estate with tasteful charm and careful attention to detail. With a unique setup of individual buildings, it is reminiscent of an old Provencal village (an unusual feature to find on such a traditional estate in Provence).

THE MOULIN now includes five charming villas around the main garden and four delightful lodgings cleverly integrated into the historic old mill. Each villa and lodging is unique and has been designed to provide modern convenience with old world charm. Decorated in cheerful simple Provencal style, all are fully equipped with everything you will need to stay a week or a month. Exceptionally large, each villa and lodging can enjoy their own private terrace and barbecue.

AN INSPIRING SETTING for groups, painting workshops, weddings, business meetings, families and couples, the Moulin de la Roque can accommodate almost any requirement. There are two ample meeting/workshop/dining rooms, a large secluded swimming pool with surrounding terrace, covered cabana and poolhouse with shower and toilet facilities, a petanque court (Provencal ball game),two trampolines, and other recreational facilities for children as well as adults. An expansive lawn allows for beautiful views and lots of space to run or play for the children.

Les Cigales, originally an early 19th century stone barn, then later used to store wheat for the mill has been renovated with old world charm and modern conveniences into a 3 to 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom villa. The old beams and stone remain. This house is located on the southern gardens and the grand lawn and has a magnificent panoramic view of the estate. It is a great gathering spot for your group or family as it has a large living area, dining area, and kitchen.

You enter the comfortable living room of this house from a stone terrace, complete with teak furniture and private barbecue. This spacious living area includes an old stone fireplace and is open to both the large dining area and typical Provencal kitchen - fully equipped with everything you may need for your stay.

On the first floor, there are three bedrooms, each with separate wash basins, one with a small shower. Just down the hall from the dining area, there is a separate toilet, a full bath (tub, shower and wash basin) and another full bath (shower, wash basin and toilet).

On the second floor, there are two additional large bedrooms (each with hidden wash basins), one full bath and shower, and a separate toilet room.

This is really a perfect house for families and groups as all bedrooms are private from each other, there are ample baths, showers and toilets, the kitchen has a five burner stove and two refrigerators. For elderly travelers it is perfect as there are no stairs on the first level. Unique in Provence!

Additional Location Information

LOCATION is one of Moulin de la Roque's best features. It is exceptionally well located in the heart of Provence just minutes from its most treasured and beautiful sights, villages, cities, beaches and vineyards. Close to Saint Remy de Provence and Avignon. Centrally located to most important Provencal villages. The TGV station Avignon, is on only 20 minutes. Also located only 10 minutes from Autoroute A7, 45 minutes from Marseille airport.

Located just outside the village of Noves, one can walk 10 minutes into the village for groceries, bakeries and whatever else you may need. Noves is charming and historic in itself and is an enjoyable visit.

  Les Cigales was a great place with plenty of room for a large group. We stayed in this unit for 3 weeks in September. The kitchen had everything you need to take advantage of the local markets and prepare wonderful meals that could be enjoyed around the large dining table inside or the large table on the patio.
  Two of the bedrooms + bath are upstairs and away from the back wing of the house which has the other 3 bedrooms. This allows for considerable privacy (we had two small children with us, who could get in naps in relative quiet upstairs). We found the premises clean and very comfortable. If you want to spend some time in Provence, this is the place.
