      A gem!

Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We had an amazing time at le Séchoir. The place is straight out of architecture Digest... wait, it is featured in several French homes/gardens and B & B magazines! The hosts, Véronique and François are very attentive while respecting your privacy.

Le Séchoir is an old tabacco drying barn that has been carefully and tastefully renovated with top-of-the-line, modern amenities. 3 large bedrooms w/ 3 incredible Italian style showers, fully-equipped kitchen to accomodate your gastronomical lunchs and dinners. The dining room and living area are spacious. There is even high-speed internet and TV if you need to stay connected to the outside world.

The private pool is a definite plus after a day trip to the nearby beautiful city of Bordeaux, local castles, numerous vineyards or even the atlantic ocean beaches. It is very quiet and of easy acces to the main highway that will take you to Bordeaux in less than 45mn.

Ask for neighbor Madame Coulon and her garden-grown fruits and vegetables (awesome melons and tomatoes) or nearby Maison la Renardière for local pâtés, terrines and foie gras. Grab a bottle of local wine (the choice is almost endless) and experience the true "joie de vivre".

Merci encore à Véronique and François, we are fans!

      Great ameneties!

Left on 02/09/2012 for a stay in October 2010

I stayed with a group of 6 friends at Le Sechoir. The house was a former tobacco drying barn and had been beautifully restored. The best part was the heated floors and the great shower!
Lots of space, wonderful kitchen with every possible amenity and our group loved the coffee pot. We cooked every night and enjoyed using the herbs from the garden.
Very comfortable beds, too. The house was spotlessly clean.

The location was ok--a little far to a grocery store. We made a wrong turn and had a little trouble finding it originally. Lots of villages to visit nearby. We did not see the owners or their tenants, but they were on site if we needed them. Had a lovely patio and garden in the back.

      Hope to go back!
