Château Bouynot is located at the border of the Gironde and Lot et Garonne districts. The village of Meilhan-sur-Garonne, 5 kilometres from Château Bouynot, offers a grocery, butcher, bakery, restaurant, pub, post office, and doctor. The village is on the Canal de Garonne, the continuation of the Canal du Midi, with its towpath running alongside the canal that provides miles of safe and level cycling, jogging, and walking under the shade of the plane trees. A short walk from the house is the pony club at Noaillac, where horse-riding trips can be arranged. An 18 hole golf course is available at Casteljaloux (20 kilometres away). Chateau Bouynot is a wonderful starting point for numerous cultural and historical trips. Plan a visit to the vineyards and châteaux of the Sauternais area (20 minutes away) or the medieval city of St-Emilion (45 minutes). The ancient town of Bazas (20 minutes), with its finely-preserved architecture, lies on the pilgrimage route of Santiago de Compostella. Bordeaux, only 40 minute drive, is a UNESCO World Heritage site for its 18th century centre. Children will enjoy a day out at the Walabi amusement park. And don’t miss the opportunity to discover the local wines, produce, and foie gras, at the several weekly farmers’ markets at Meilhan, Marmande and Bazas. Chateau Bouynot is easily reached by car (A62), train (La Réole) or from Bordeaux-Mérignac airport 75 km away.

From the day we booked till the moment of leaving we were beautifully attended to by Veronique and Francois. Nothing was too much trouble.
The property itself is in a beautiful setting and has every feature you might wish and more (A French billiards table!). Equipment and furniture were beyond expectations.
The location was remote but services were easily accessible on quiet, scenic roads.
We loved everything and would criticise nothing. -

We stayed for 1 week in la grange with our family of 2 adults and 4 children. We instantly found the property to be better than expected even though I found the website to be very professional in it's description. We loved everything in the house from the layout (in particular the kitchen), the design and the high quality fixtures and fittings.
Francois & Veronique we found to be excellent hosts, i.e. Friendly, helpful yet professional and respected our privacy.
I will be definately recommending this property to our family and friends. -

In 2010 we stayed in La Grange for 1 week, - in 2011 we stayed for 2 weeks. Who knows for how long it will be when we come back. We will definitely come back. We love the house, though we say that it is situated in the middle of no where. We have 2 daughters aged 14 and 16 but we all love it quiet and we prefer to have the lovely pool to ourselves. We like everything clean, - and it definitely is. It is easy to go by car to shop and you can reach all the famous wine chateaux. We enjoyed very much the owners hospitality.
