Kiev, UkraineAwesome! Mandatory stay for your Normandie visit

I would write a book on our stay in this wonderful manoir! Authentic experience, quiet place 7 minutes walk from Bayeux center, amazing house and absolutely charming and hospitable Madame. Everything in the house and garden is made with so much love and care. We immersed into 300-year old history, attention to details and charm of the property for 5 days. We initially had minor trouble finding the place with GPS as ours didn't have streets of Saint-Vigor-le-Grand , in which the manoir is in fact located. Yet you would recognize immediately this place once you are in a small square with the church and parking - as the entrance is just opposite, with white gate and #1 plate. The house is really big, we rented 2 rooms on the third floor - with own bathroom the size of a room and 2 entrances to it. All rooms have outstanding view from windows, tea/ coffee facilities, Wi-Fi and are filled with old pictures of the manoir and portraits, and fresh roses. Breakfast is served downstairs in a big living room at a big table - always fresh and abundant in choice. You sit like in a museum - antique furniture, silverware, pictures, and enjoy quietness and hot French bakery with fresh juices and fruits. Madame was very helpful in all advice - from places of interest to restaurants, best roads to go and what not. We felt home from home, not even as guests but part of the family that lives in the manoir. Don't be frightened by Figaro - a lovely small dog that will be very happy you come and will show you immediately how he trusts you - he will check your car, show you how to play with his dog toys and sing to the bells of the church. Besides all its numerous advantages, the place is also outstanding for location not only to Bayeux center, but other places of interest in Normandie - is just in the center of what you should visit - D-Day beaches, St Michel, St Malo, Port-en-Bessin, Deauville and Trouville and many more. If you want to see Normandie - take at least 5 days, otherwise you would be running around without a break to manage to see most important places. Many thanks to Madame and her family for ensuring our unforgettable stay and taking care of us for all the days!

Leeds, UKExcellent, a taste of real France and completely unique!

Just in case you are thinking of paying a visit to Bayeux, be it for the Tapestry or the World War Two landings beaches, we can definately recommend Manoir Saint Hubert on the outskirts of Bayeux.
Be prepared for an unbelievable encounter with a majestic house filled with 15th century furniture and an overall grand appearance. Absolutely well maintained and clean, en suite facilities in a quiet area. Wake up in the morning to the nearby Church bell and excellent breakfast served at a long dining table that would have suited a King.
Indeed the lady who serves it is a descendant of one of William of Orange's Knights and if you ask she will surely show you an ancient family tree to prove it!
Only a short walk into the town centre are Bayeux's Cathedral and many restaurants and it is just a short drive to see the Bayeux Tapestry or the beaches. We found this place fascinating and thoroughly enjoyed our three day stay. -

Mexico CityExtraordinary week in Normandy.

I spent a few days in the home and it was wonderful. The owner was very kind and willing to make the stay as comfortable as possible. I got a different treatment in Normandy than what I did in Paris or other big cities, people in Normandy are much nicer.
The home was really nice; it's actually a pretty big house. The room was comfortable and had a great view of the garden.
The location is great, there are many things to do either in the town or in the villages nearby. In the town the Cathedral is beautiful (and you have a great view of it when you leave the house), also there are some ancient tapestries of Bayeux that are really interesting. In the towns nearby you have different options: if you are interested in Wwii you can go to Omaha Beach, the american Cimetery, or arromanches. If you prefer a greater French feeling then I would recommend Port en Bessin, a beautiful town by the beach. Arromanches is also nice even if you aren't interested in Wwii, it has a great view of the sea.
What I liked the most was the experience in general. It was a different France than what I was used to, and I definitely want to go back again. What I liked the least is that it rained once, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the stay.
