Houston, TexasBeauty and Solitude Plus Everything You Need!
Left on 01/07/2013 for a stay in September 2012
My husband and I stayed in this lovely, secluded cabin for all of September 2012. It was perfect and extremely well supplied. We so much enjoyed the beauty of Colorado, exploring the property, getting to know the llamas and making friends with the resident cat. The guest cabin overlooks a stream and is nestled in an aspen grove that turned to gold during our stay. Spectacular! The owner is most helpful without being obtrusive. The cabin is a short distance from Salida and we very loved getting to know this sweet little town.

We found this cabin stay very pleasant for several reasons. It was very roomy, exceptionally clean, light and airy with many large windows, quiet, pleasant setting away from noise, and easily accessible to Salida.

We stayed here and completely enjoyed every aspect! The view from the deck(s) are unbelievable with a creek running right by you! The cabin is completely new and very, very comfortable. You are only 10 minutes to the town of Salida, which has everything you could possibly need. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone, as we would gladly go back to stay there! 5 stars!

We wanted to be in a simple, clean, quiet cabin for our first few days of vacation, and the Spruce Ridge Guest House was perfect for us. The kitchen was better equipped than my home kitchen, the rooms spacious and clean. You can see (and hear) the lovely brook at the back of the house from one of 3 outdoor seating areas, and gaze at the stars at night. The cabin is behind the owner's house, and about 5 miles from the town of Salida, about 2 miles from the main road. We took several great walks just around the cabin, and enjoyed exploring the whole area - the town, the mountains and hot springs. Dan the owner knows the area well and was fun to talk to. We loved our vacation! If you have to have a tv or internet clear that up with Dan - we did not want it, and got internet on our phones when we went to town, so that was not a problem.

dallas, texasLuxury with the llamas"
Left on 08/14/2011 for a stay in July 2011
My wife and I spent four days at Spruce Ridge Guest Cabin and were very pleased. It is on a 35 acre llama ranch situated with a view of wooded hills and nearby creek, with nothing else in sight except blue sky and a few wandering (but quiet) llamas. About a 15 minute drive from Salida (a fine community with good restaurants and great location for just about all "Rocky Mountain activities."), so close enough to be convenient but remote enough to feel isolated. The house was spacious and meticulously maintained. The only negative was absence of TV or any type of internet connection (not that it was a necessity but would have been nice). We liked it and would return...

Atlanta, GAOne of our best stays ever
Left on 06/26/2011 for a stay in June 2011
This was one of our best stays ever. The cabin is three miles down a not-so-traveled county road and has a very tranquil setting. Three decks overlook a babbling creek and aspens blowing gently in the breeze...& the resident llamas add their own unique character to the setting. The cabin is very comfortable with lots of homey amenities; it has a very open feel with nicely utilized space. At check-in, we were greeted with freshly baked cookies and lots of tips about the area...which is amazing! We stayed 3 nights, but certainly wished we could have stayed longer.
