This is the best possible location, close to downtown but in a quiet neighborhood.
Number one question asked: "Is Hearts Content close to the historic downtown shops, galleries, restaurants, and river walk?" Answer: Yes! Hearts Content is the ideal situation. It is a private residence in a quiet neighborhood but still just a few minutes' walk from downtown. You can get downtown easily and quickly, but still escape the noise of a concert in the park, motorcycle rally, or other event, when you're ready to relax and call it a day.

Nestled in the heart of all this natural beauty is our gem of a town with a wonderful historic downtown full of shops, galleries, and restaurants. The Arkansas River flows right through downtown. The riverwalk and riverside dining are wonderful.

Alamosa, COPerfect Base Camp for an outdoor adventure in the arkansas Valle

I got a chance to stay at this house before climbing one of the many mountains in the arkansas Valley and it was the best base camp we could ask for! We had a chance to lounge in the living room and talk in a cozy space, slept in the twin beds and then kitchen had everything we could need for a breakfast to fuel us up before scaling a mountain. It was certainly a comfortable space in a great neighborhood for our group of 4 hikers and I wish we would've had more time just relaxing!

We are a family of four with two larger children (10 & 12) and this was the perfect place. Every room was the perfect size, the two living rooms were a plus as well as the two bathrooms. This was our first ski trip for our kids and we wanted it to be perfect. It was!! What we loved the most about Hearts Content was the extra love that was added from extra shelves/drawers in closets to the back screen door. You just have to see it to believe it~Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall, there's always things to do in the Colorado Rockies!

Very cozy, clean and quaint home! Stayed here for a few days in late summer/early fall with our 6 and 7 year old boys who loved it and the kid appropriate games and dvds. The western touches and decorations were fun for us city folk. Quiet neighborhood, with deer walking right by the front of the house on more than one occasion. A great "base" for exploring Salida and nearby hot springs. Really enjoyed our time in this well cared for home that had everything one could want (full kitchen, washer and dryer) and would definitely stay here again. Owner Scott was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with.

My husband and two other friends spent two nights at Hearts Content when we were snowboarding at Monarch Mountain. What a delight! The private sun room in the back is my favorite spot -- such a comfortable place for a quiet conversation or a lazy nap in the sun. The house is tastefully decorated with a charming Colorado cowboy theme, and it is so convenient to downtown Salida! We cooked all our meals in the user-friendly kitchen and felt snug and warm with the woodburning stove. Really enjoyed our stay! Hated to leave!
