Light-filled, brick and stone, far from everything but Wifi connected

The portion of the house next to where the owners live includes: a spacious entrance hall which can also serve as bike storage, an entryway, a bathroom with shower and laundry with washing machine, double bedroom, a living room with a stereo, a library, fireplace and door exit to the swimming pool, a dining room with satellite TV and exit to the garden, a kitchen with refrigerator, oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster: the dishes and the silverware are for ten people. On the first floor there is: a bathroom with tub and shower, a bedroom with two single beds and o...ne double room with private toilet and shower with a terrace of about 20 m². All rooms have ceiling fans, central heating and at least one window with mosquito net. The above ground pool (4x8x1, 40 deep, wooden frame) is available from June 1 to September 15. The private grounds reserved for guests are approximately 3000 m², but the entire farm is accessible.

Organic farm: The house is located in the center of an organic farm of more than 25 acres. All products are available at special prices for guests. Rosemary and herbs, 120 fruit trees, chile peppers, vegetables can be harvested by guests with the assistance of the owners. From these basic elements Nine Lobo manufactures and markets Spirit of Habanero (pepper grappa), Nectar Habanero (hot pepper oil), honey, chili powder and other specialties. The farm has a store in town, 'l'Ambasciata', where you can find quality products from the region and beyond, delivered directly from farms. On the farm you can eat typical American brunch, chili specialties, as well as seasonal dishes made with local products.

Equestrian Club: Nine del Lobo is also home to Rancho Comancho, a horse-riding club founded over twenty years ago in the Apuan mountains. We train horses following the philosophy of the great Monty Roberts, 'The man who listens to horses'. We give riding lessons and there are special offers to those who come on vacation with their own horse. We board horses both in paddocks and stalls. Available: tackroom, club house, arena, round training paddock. We are part of Libertas Associaton, recognized by the CONI. We organize guided tours for guests with horses.

Other activities: We organize full immersion English holidays, with mother tongue teachers, tailored to customer needs. We organize camps for children aged 11 to 13 years and youngsters aged 14 to 17. We organize team building courses using softair and riding as a means of socialization and teamwork. Nine Lobo is home to the Traveler's Library of Sergio Stocchi, with over 400 hand made books and hundreds of others in different languages. Additional Location Information

Five miles from Salsomaggiore and Tabiano Spas, unique for the quality of water, adjacent to an 18 hole golf club (reachable by foot), a 15 minute drive from the Stirone River Park in the Contignaco Valley, on the main road to the sea and Cinque Terre (2 hours), to Milan (90 minutes), Florence (3 hours). Organic farm (chile peppers, vegetables, fruits, oil) part of a network of other farms in the area (meat, honey, sausages, parmesan cheese, milk, etc.). Many restaurants in the area. Part of the WWF circuit, the house is in the middle of a network of trails, which are connected to major Apennines paths. Five hundred meters north of the house is Contignaco Castle (c. 1300) and one kilometer to the east, the Romanesque Church of San Giovanni (c. 1000 AD). Other castles within an hour drive. The birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi is approx 35 Km .

Other Activities: horse riding, shooting, airsoft, truffles and mushroom hunting, ultralights.

Golf: Established in 1992 the Salsomaggiore Golf Club is immersed in 70 hectars of greenery, 360 meters high, in the hills surrounding the Spa of Salsomaggiore. The 18 hole championship course winds throught a quiet green valley and is very spectacular for both its tecnique and for the beauty of the countryside. Its soft fairways and fast greens allow players of every level to play their best in a course always maintained in the best condition.

In the middle of the course there is a modern and spacious clubhouse equipped for every need. Nine holes of the course border the fields of Nine del Lobo and are visible from the house.

  Truly Nine Del Lobo is a home away, only with a much better view than I have from my windows! Signora Wolf provides a commodious stay with plenty of places to relax, enjoy the views, read, write, gather with family. It is a delightful view of Italy that no Duomo or Campanile walkway in Florence can provide. The countryside is magnificent, yet close enough to shopping, dining, touring, respected ateliers of Parmigiano Reggiano and Modena's balsamic vinegars, spas, and markets to satisfy any desire.
  
  Amemities are abundant for a country farm house: Lovely bedrooms with luscious down comforters for chilly fall evenings, sitting and dining rooms and kitchen, along with private washing machine. The hosts can easily guide visitors in a direction or completely disappear depending on the guests' wishes. American style "Western" riding is available to those with appropriate qualifications. Wi-Fi is available, but why with a long view of the Po Valley!
  
  I could not believe the view as we arrived in fog and watched Italy emerge as the sun took charge of the day. I loved everything about this experience. I felt like I had reconnected with family. I hated to leave.

  Highlight of the children's holiday in Italy

  From the minute we arrived , after navigating the driveway (!) we were made very welcome in all ways. Maggie felt like an old friend immediately and went out of her way to find us boots for truffle hunting, an adapter for the computer etc etc! The accomodation was clean and very spacious with lovely views in all directions. The children (7, 8 and 17) were free to roam the property, which they certainly did, including feeding the horses, and cleaning the pool with Maggie so they could go swimming, even though it was on the chilly side. Salsomaggiore is a beautiful town and not far away are Parma and even the Cinq Terre coast. We would have loved to stay longer and will hopefully get back there one summer. Thanks again for everything Maggie!
