Frisco, TexasComfortable Stay with a Beautiful View of the Ocean
Left on 07/10/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We stayed at the Beach house from June 22-29th, and had a wonderful time. The Beach House has a wonderful little sandy beach for snorkeling and is very conveniently located on the island. The trade winds would keep us cool at night and the French doors open so you can lay in bed and look at the moon, ocean and stars - couldn't ask for anything more! Porter and Haidee made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We explored the entire island with our golf 'truck' and since it was off season, the island was basically ours.
One of the best activities that we did was to go out with two of the locals deep sea fishing. They were professional, helpful and excited to show us what they knew about trolling for tuna. This island is a gem and the locals on the island are even more precious. This was my second time back to the island within six months and I'm already planning on going back again next year.Response from Porter & Haidee Williams - 07/21/2012

We're so glad to have you back for a second visit to Salt Cay. You've embraced all the best things of the island and become part of the community each time---with Texas Hold-em Poker and beach days and even going fishing, you made sure everyone will be glad when you make your next visit. Now you know both seasons on the island, too...whale season when you meet many other visitors and the summer slower season, when you can virtually have the island to yourselves. We welcome you back as soon as you can make it! Cheers, Haidee & Porter

DallasLovely beach cottage
Left on 07/05/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We'd originally booked another property, but we got switched to this house and were quite happy with it. The house is right on the ocean, it's a rocky shore, but right next to the house is a small sandy beach that can be reached very easily (20 yards away). Fantastic snorkeling right off the beach. The house accommodates four, since there are two queen-size beds upstairs, but no privacy so this would work only for a family. The house itself is very cozy, beautifully decorated by the artist-owner (we deduced, from the prints, photos, etc.). There are delightful touches, such as bird-watching books and binoculars on the coffee table, books on fish and coral flora, etc. The kitchen is small, but fully operational. The bathroom has a shower but no bathtub (not that you'd miss it). We stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The house is very close to another similar looking house and there are neighbors. We were there in the low season so we had the island pretty much to ourselves, but during high season, if you are looking for the secluded experience, this may not be ideal.
Most of all, the house has a warm, cozy, artsy feel, due to the lovely beach-themed decorations. The ceiling of the upstairs bedroom is painted to look like the sky, a delightful touch. Would we go back? In a heartbeat.Response from Porter & Haidee Williams - 07/16/2012
