      Would do this again!

Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage. We desired to have a week to relax and forget about the stress of daily living. This was our first time on Salt Spring Island and made our reservation on line. When we arrived the deer were greeting us before we had reached the cottage. We found everything clean, a very quiet surrounding, which we enjoyed. We used our bikes to go to Ganges where we enjoyed lunches at the Tree house Restaurant, what we liked is that Salt Spring Island has its own character. You will not find a Tim Horton's or a Dairy Queen, it is all unique, Sabine and her husband were very hospitable, any questions we had were addressed and we are planning to come back next year, because this was a great experience. I would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to others.

      Idyllic getaway on SaltSpring Island

Left on 07/20/2012 for a stay in August 2011

We love coming to SaltSpring Island every summer and staying at Daffodil Cottage or Sabine and Harald's oceanside boathouse. The setting is idyllic and peaceful with views towards the ocean and Vancouver Island. You can easily walk down to the ocean and gaze at the always changing views of boats to birds to kelp to starfish. There are also always deer around. You feel transported to another world as you leave the modern world and its problems behind. The hiking on Saltspring is underrated and should not be missed. Sabine and Harald are very helpful and have always accomodated any request we have had of them. The accomodations are rustic, not fancy or modern but everything is clean and works. These are the sorts of cottages you wished your family still owned and had passed down to you. We always look forward to our time here.

      A wonderful place to stay!

Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in August 2011

To me, Daffodil Cove Cottage is one of the most beautiful places on Salt Spring Island. The cottage is right beside a beautiful area that overlooks the ocean. There are almost no people around you, so you have lots of privacy. Every morning when you wake up, you can hear the wonderful sound of birds singing and the waves of the ocean crashing gently against the beach. There is tons of wildlife living around the area, including deer, birds, squirrels, garter snakes, and several varieties of insects. Sometimes when you to up to the rocky beach beside the ocean, you can spot seals, dolphins, and killer whales swimming in the ocean! Daffodil Cove Cottage is a very wonderful place to stay.

A lovely cottage in a perfect setting

Left on 07/09/2012 for a stay in May 2012

We wanted a quiet spot to enjoy the beauty of Salt Spring and found it at Daffodil Cottage. The setting was beautiful -high on a hill overlooking the ocean with wonderful hikes nearby. It was very peaceful and the only signs of other life were the deer , bald eagles, and other birdlife which you could view from the cottage. However, Sabina and Harold (the owners) were a short walk away should you need anything, and were very helpful with suggestions for activities on the island. The cottage was very clean with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. We would stay again.

Great little cottage away from it all

Left on 07/09/2012 for a stay in July 2012

It was our third time in this secluded little cottage.
We love the location, the surroundings a mix of rocks and arbutus with some exceptional vistas, the wildlife always present with hummingbirds, eagles, deers, lizards, butterflies etc, all of them can be observed from the large balcony or while having breakfast by the kitchen area windows.
The cottage itself is small but well laid and can accommodate very comfortably a couple and 2 kids, with one bedroom and 2 smaller beds on the mezzanine. There is a pull out coach as well in the living area. We love the laid back furnishing and the books that are everywhere. The front windows are floor to ceiling to do justice to a fabulous view and the silence is only broken by the birds (and your kids if you have some). The owners are very friendly and discreet, we usually see them once during the stay and they always have good suggestions about what to do and will gladly help you get the most out of your stay.
We only regretted the absence of barbeque, that the bay windows were dirty in some places (kitchen area particularly) and the window above the bathtub lost its sealant witch made us nervous to get it wet while taking our shower.
Nonetheless this is our favorite cottage on our favorite island and we will be back for sure.

A great weekend on a beautiful property

Left on 07/08/2012 for a stay in June 2012

This was much more than I expected. The property is absolutely perfect, and waking up in the morning to an ocean view was amazing. Such a peaceful and private cabin. Probably the best location on the island. I can't say anything bad about the cottage other than I was very sad leaving it and going back to my own home, haha. I wish I lived there!!!

Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in July 2011

The cottage is located in a very peaceful and beautiful spot. We are a familiy with 2 boys (10 and 14 years old). Even if it was a quite place, our kids were never bored. So much to explore in the forest and at the sea side, just a few steps away from the cottage. We were spoiled with lots of gentle deers and other wildlife. Especially in the mornings they visited us while having breakfast, then we discovered dolphins, seals, crabs, sea stars, tons of different shells at the waterfront and much more. We all enjoyed the tranquility, the outstanding, splendid view, finally having the time to read a book, the calm stressles atmosphere completed our one week family getaway on Salt Spring Island. We appreciated the friendly and warm welcome, all the helpful info of the owners, everything was ready and worked out perfectly. We hope to go back to Salt Spring Islands and to the Daffodil Cove Cottage some day. We all loved to be there and we can highly recommend it.

Left on 06/29/2012 for a stay in September 2011

Daffodil Cove is a wondrous place surrounded by the natural beauty of the sea and forest. We have stayed there, both at the oceanfront cottage and the romantic ocean hideaway and love them both. Once you stay here you are transported to a different time and space - it is that tranqil and beautiful. We have seen bald eagles, many deer, dolphins, seabirds and beautiful sailboats as they cruise in the distance. The tranquility and privacy here promotes such things as reading or just looking out to sea and listening to the sounds of nature. We barbeque salmon in the evening on the wood deck and eat dinner looking out to sea. Wonderful!
The owners, Sabine and Harold, are super nice and do all they can to make your stay special. We have loved Daffodil Cove for many years!
