Cold Lake, CanadaRelaxing holiday, good value
Left on 09/22/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Stayed for a week with my 19 month old son, my husband, my in-laws and my mother. We had a very relaxing holiday and no one wanted to leave! Loved spending time on the dock and in the boats! Jack gave us some good tips regarding hiking around the island (the fairy trail and Ruckle Provincial Park were our favorites!) The cabin itself was reasonably well equipt (dated, but what you would expect in a cottage or cabin). The BBQ was great (it was new)! The only negative was the water pressure (very low water pressure and if you turned the tap on in the kitchen, the shower stopped working). However, after we sorted out notifying everyone prior to showers, things went fine. The only other thing to note is that the cabin is actually up the hill from the lake, so it is a very short walk down to the dock (sort of a view from the back deck). This actually was perfect for us as it allowed us to let by 19 month old play in the back yard (still supervised of course, but we didn't have to worry about him falling in the water). Overall, we had a really wonderful time and I think the cabin is excellent value for money.

Toronto, OntarioA great getaway
Left on 11/26/2010 for a stay in July 2010
At the end of July we stayed at the Lakeside Cottage on Cusheon Lake, 6 of us sharing the cottage for a 1 week family vacation. It was great being able to shop in Ganges getting fresh food at the Market and in the local stores and having the choice of eating meals inside or outside on the deck with the option of eating in town when we felt like it. Jack and Candace had great suggestions for places to go for food, music, and dancing, depending on what type of experience we wanted to have. The cottage had all amenities, was very clean, and best of all was a few steps away from Cusheon Lake. We had access to the paddle boat, and kayaks and also enjoyed relaxing on the dock and swimming. Everything was so convenient, we were able to book a kayak trip through Island Escapades, where one of Jack's guides took us on a group kayak trip to a few of the islands close by. It was a perfect trip that combined relaxation with activities and great food, giving us the opportunity to spend time together as a family. I would highly recommend this spot as a great getaway for families, and would not hesitate to come back again with everyone or even with a few friends.
