Additional Location Information
This cottage is on a half acre of south facing water and mountain view.
Hiking trails are minutes away and the seaside walks and shell searching await you. There is a wonderful new walking path providing safe walks to the village in 20 minutes.
The natural setting of the cottage is eco-friendly with many wild flowers and over grown grasses providing a natural sanctuary for the local habitat. Quail nest in the long grasses and enjoy the fat seed heads that we allow to ripen and self-sow. We even have a "bug hotel" where we pile rocks and wood that are allowed to naturally break down thus providing a home for local snakes and spiders, which are all beneficial to the garden. The garder snakes enjoy the rustic grasses too and keep the balance and biodiversity of the property intact
The top of the property closest to the road is used to grow year round vegetables helping us toward our goal of sustainability. We even have a honey bee hive in the upper corner of the property (well away from walkways and drive) aiding in the pollination of the flowers, fruits and vegetables, and of course providing us with beautiful honey! Heritage hens graze on portions of the cottage property and happily peck bugs entertaining guests.
When tides are high a kayak is definitely in order. We provide a two seater kayak complete with life jackets and paddles. Toodle around the peaceful canal and quietly watch the wildlife, or venture out past the inlet and explore Baker beach where you can beach comb and enjoy salty swims.
Relaxing on the new cedar dock just steps from the cottage is also a great way to see the birds. During the summer months the heron, turkey vultures, osprey, and the king fishers return to nest and feed. We have a pair of eagles that perch in front of the cottage and nest across the inlet (the nest can be seen with a pair of binoculars from the deck).

Amazing location and sweet little cottage! We woke up to the sound and sight of eagles every morning. This place is a bird-watchers paradise. Walking distance to Ganges and Baker Beach. The south-facing cottage was set up well for us and had everything that we required for a comfortable 5 month stay. We made friends with the chickens next door and got to love farm-fresh eggs! Sitting in the hot tub on starry nights was a definite bonus. The owners were very helpful and even helped us get some extra firewood for the winter. They even made some improvements to the wireless network so we had better access in the cottage. They lent us books on Salt Spring Island and we consulted these constantly.
The cottage is well situated for accessing Mount Erskine - a worthwhile hike with gorgeous views to the west and north. We also enjoyed the Channel Ridge Trails and Ruckle Park Trails. -

Eagle View Cottage was just what we needed to escape the city pace and relax! Enjoyed watching the quail scurry through the tall grasses, even saw a bunny come out of the thatch. Lots of birds in the canal too, king fishers, heron, a pair of bald eagles and geese and ducks. Really enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. Kitchen was well stocked which was a nice surprise. The featherbed and wool duvet were divine, amazing sleeps with the sound of quiet. All in all a great getaway, definitely recommend it.

Although we have stayed on Saltspring Island many times at a variety of locations this time we chose a Vrbo lodging. We were not disappointed. Great little place, well kept, well appointed. The innkeepers were friendly but not intrusive. Loved the fresh eggs, homemade jelly and home grown veggies.

A lovely little cottage on Booth Inlet with all the amenities of home. Less than a 5-minute drive to enjoy a coffee in town or a 2-minute walk to the nearest hiking trail, and at night there's a toasty hot tub where you can sit and enjoy the view of the inlet and watch the birds settle down for the evening. This was my second stay at the cottage and I am happy to recommend it to others. The hosts are wonderful people whom I consider good friends.

Left on 06/22/2011 for a stay in June 2011
The location of this cottage was ideal for our family...just minutes away from Ganges and basically everything. My expectations were high, for having the dock/waterfront/kayak right in the front yard. This is something that i thought would be a great activity for us. I was disappointed because of the tides and that it is on a canal means sometimes, there is no water. It is exremely muddy and therefore unusuable.
The location made it easy to leave for the day, and venture out to the rest of the Island to find waterfront and other things to do. The cottage is very cosy and nice...there was everything we needed in the kitchen. The second best part was the friendly owner. She was very nice, informative, and so kind to my son. Beautiful spot, comfortable space, private and extremely quiet. We enjoyed our stay very much! -

Definitely was one of my best get-a-ways ever!!
Location is perfect. We enjoyed the waterfront...watching the variety of birds, the comforts of the cottage and details were lovely. Fresh linens and the convenience of the washer and dryer were an added bnus. It was all the comforts of home. We really appreciated the hospitaly and your knowledge of Salt Spring...very informative. We wanted to discover more but short on time so we'll be back for sure. The cottage and location is definitely Salt Springs best kept secret. Loved the hot tub too. See you soon

Our 4 day stay was absolutely fabulous. It was everything and more!! We savoured in the much needed relaxation, watching the Eagles and variety of birds sitting on the lovely deck. The fresh eggs were delicious.
We didn't want to leave the Cottage and the hot tub was added bonus watching the falling stars every night...magical. We'll definitely be back. Thank you -

2nd stay here - great location - quaint cottage - great hosts - kitchen lacked a few staples this time i.e. tin foil, certain utensils, a few condiments almost run out, etc.. - "shed" bedroom smelt a tad musty & perhaps had not been aired out?

Our stay at Eagle View Cottage on Salt Spring Island was the perfect combination of comfort with privacy and opportunities for exploring outside your front door by kayak, bicycle, or foot. If you can take yourself away from the view from the deck and want to go further afield, take transit or drive into Ganges, the small village, to take in any number of great restaurants... try the Treehouse or auntie Pestos in the downtown core. On a Saturday hit the Saturday Market early while you can still move. It can get very busy as the day goes on.
Kelly and Lionel were great hosts: professional, welcoming and happy to answer all my questions.
The Cottage was very well appointed ... and the hot tub became our regular routine every night. Stars were amazing!
