Cosy Woodpecker Cottage B&B; is a delightful self-contained brand new raspberry red cottage set in 5 acres of woodland, meadow and fruit trees 5 minutes drive from Ganges. Nestled at the edge of a woodland of arbutus and fir, the cottage overlooks the property. It’s fully equipped with two gorgeous bedrooms, sitting room with wrap around sofa, wood-burning stove, a soothing bathroom with ‘zen’ soaker tub, large covered deck and more. All for you to stretch out, relax and enjoy your stay here on beautiful, tranquil Salt Spring Island.

Located in a rural area on beautiful Salt Spring Island - the largest of BC’s Gulf Islands. We are 5 km north of Ganges which is our cute little town on the sea - famous for it's artists and artisans, organic locally grown food, beautiful scenery, restful location, live music and more!
Check out our Saturday Artisan and Farmer's market (runs end March to end October) or the year-round Artist Tour. Like food? Salt Spring has 2 "Cheeseries", 3 Wineries, our own Beer Brewery and farm stands galore! Like nature? Our beaches and hiking trails give you plenty of opportunities to see deer, otters, owls, ravens, woodpeckers, bees and more! More adventurous? Take a whale watching boat, go kayaking, camping, hiking, we even have a rock-climbing centre!

A group of us visited Salt Spring Island in the beginning of May and had a wonderful time. Not only is the island a beautiful place, but so is the Cozy Woodpecker. We couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations. The cottage was very clean and a wonderful breakfast basket filled with local goodies welcomed us when we arrived. Duncan and Dexter (definitely man's best friend) were always up for a good chat and suggestion on what to do.
The Cozy Woodpecker is definitely where you should stay visiting Salt Spring Island, I am certain the four of us will visit again.

We loved our stay at the Cosy Woodpecker! The cottage is absolutely immaculate and decorated in such a lovely way. The pictures actually don't do it justice.
It can be difficult traveling with 2 young children (ages 3 and 5) but Emma and Duncan are so welcoming that we felt right at home. Also, it was fun for us to have the friendly dog Dexter around!
The breakfast that was left for us was simply amazing. There was delicious granola, pancake mix, homemade jam, amazing bread, local coffee, a dozen eggs from the farm down the street, and cream and milk, and fresh berries from the garden! We had plenty of food for all three mornings of our stay.
The beds were so comfy, the deck was cozy, the house immaculate... we will be back! Thank you Duncan, Emma, and Dexter! -

Salt Spring Island, BCWonderful, beautiful, secluded island retreat

We stayed here for several weeks during a writing retreat and it was absolutely heavenly, perfectly quiet, close to hiking trails, wooded, a nice bicycle ride to town and the local wineries. The property is beautiful with a lovely garden full or organic fruits and vegetables that the owners share with guests. The cottage is impeccably cared for, very clean, and tastefully put together. The owners know the Island and had many excellent recommendations for dining, hiking, beach walks, and visiting local artists and artisans on Salt Spring. We would return in a heart beat.
