I spent one month at the Pousada Villa Verde and thoroughly enjoyed my stay! The apartment was clean and cozy, had a nice spacious bathroom and the kitchen was equipped with everything I needed. There is also a little garden in the back where you can relax in the hammocks under the huge mango tree.
The location is very convenient - just steps away from the beach, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and banks.
The owner was always available to help, promptly responded to any of my requests, was happy to give me good tips and recommendations about the neighborhood and other destinations in the area, and arranged airport transportation for me.
Great place to stay in Salvador! -

War wiederum eine gelungene atmosphäre; Auch bei meinem dritten Besuch hat sich an der Sauberkeit der Zimmer nichts geändert; durch die vielen Tipps des Eigentümers konnten wir wiederum neue wunderschöne Orte kennenlernen. Aber auch der Besuch am Strand (ca. 5-10min vom Hotel) war oft eine tolle Erfrischung mit Wellen, Wellen, Wellen... Außerdem gibt es im Umfeld des Hotels viele Einkaufsmöglichkeitnen sowie Restaurants und die Busverbindungen zu allen anderen Stränden sind super. Abends lädt der Leuchturm die Leichtigkeit des Seins in Barra zu geniessen... Empehlenswert.

I won't repeat what all others here have written but I can absolutely confirm that Wolfgangs Villaverde is a perfect and very convenient place to stay in Salvador da Bahia. I will always come back to him when I am back in Salvador.

Ich habe die Pousada Villa Verde übers Internet von der Schweiz aus gebucht. Schon die Buchung war unkompliziert und ich habe mich von anfang an sicher und gut beraten gefühlt. Der Transfer vom Flughafen zur Pousada mit der Schlüsselübergabe hat einwandfrei geklappt. Auch die Lage der Pousada im Stadtteil Barra sowie die nähe zum Strand oder zum Shopping Center war so, wie es Wolfgang der Inhaber beschrieben hatte. Das appartement, dass ich gemietet hatte war sehr sauber und ansprechen möbliert. Das Bett hatte eine super Matratze, auf der ich sehr gut geschlafen habe. Ich kann die Pousada Villa Verde nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank Wolfgang für den angenehmen aufenthalt.

Travelling to Brazil since 2007, i stay every year for some weeks in this pousada (last stay in February 2012 for carnaval), without having anything to complain about. Located in a quiet and secure environment, with a laundry in a five minute walking distance and a barzinho just across the street (but closing around eleven, so there`s no need to worry about your sleep in the neight). Flats are totally equipped and the wifi is very fast - suitable to work with. All day cleaning service and the possibility to ask the owner about local conditions never give you the feeling of being alone in a foreign country. Wolfgang speaks fluent german, english and portugues - so you will find a way to communicate. Last special - during carnaval you are just 200m away from the spot, but because of the military area nearby in a controlled and therefore also during the wild days safe area.
Great recommendation and absolutely worth the price. -

I have been there already there five times and it was always a good choice. It's like a own flat, you get your own keys, so you are free to do what you want. In most of the apartments is a kitchen. So you can prepare an own breakfast easily and you feel a bit like at home. Rooms and bathroom ok; Wifi is fast.

In the Villa Verde we have been five days in very nice styled rooms: a sleeping room and a living room, and of course a small kitchen and a bathroom. Because there is no accomodation of breakfast you can get a good breakfast in a next shop tree minutes near by. Also there are some bars and restaurants you can have a good supper. To the beach you have to go five minutes. A busstation to come to the Pelorinho or the Mercado Modelo is also near by. The owner, a very kindly man, speeks German, Portugese and Englisch and he can give you a lot of interesting informations about the people, the culture and the region.

I was there on a business trip to salvador and stayed over 6 days. Service is very friendly and direct. Wolfgang - the owner has helped us a lot in finding the interesting spots and restaurants in the city. All in all, very recommendable place to stay.
