We very much enjoyed our stay here in February 2013. Booking arrangements were excellent and we were met at the flat by Paolo to be given keys and instructions and who was very helpful. The location is a safe one, just along the road from the Convento do Carmo (handy for finding a taxi). Some good bars and restaurants close by and it's only 10 minutes into the heart of the Pelhourino. Nice to do some local shopping at the supermarket and bakery for breakfasts. Great views over the harbour which are impressive and interesting. The apartment is on the ground floor and is very secure, spacious and well decorated with modern furniture and efficient air conditioning. Good wifi. One of the bedrooms is 'internal' (ie it looks directly into the living area) but still feels private. Two good bathrooms; perfect for our party of 4 people.
A few minor niggles (which the owner Luciano is addressing) but we would have no hesitation in recommending the apartment to others and making the arrangements with Luciano were very pleasant and straightforward. Electricity is billed separately on your usage, with a reading taken when you arrive and depart - it doesn't cost a great deal extra. All in all a great find and an excellent base for exploring the historic city easily on foot and have a relaxing place to come back to. -

Los AngelesRenter Beware - Nice place, but manager and owner will try to ch

We rented this place inclusive of transportation to/from the airport, but when we arrived, nobody was there to pick us up, so we had to figure it out on our own, which resulted in arriving late for our scheduled city tour. At the apartment the manager, Paolo seemed confused and nervous. Fortunately, the apartment turned-out to be nice. We stayed a couple of days, but at the time of departure, Paolo arrived 1 hour late and forgot to schedule transportation for us to the airport. He inspected the apartment and tried to charge us $13 for use of electricity, even though in our contract with Luciano, the owner, we were assured that we would not be charged for electricity due to our short stay. We needed a ride to the airport and managed to have the owner of a nearby bed & breakfast take us in her private vehicle at the last minute. once home, we requested a 335R$ reimbursement from Luciano for total out-of-pocket airport transfers since Paolo failed to have someone pick us up when we arrived and subsequently failed to have someone take us to the airport. Luciano kept promising us that he was working on the reimbursement, but nothing happened until I threatened, after 1 month, to involve Paypal and my credit card company. Only then did Luciano make the reimbursement appear in a matter of 3 days and when it did arrive the amount was 35R$ less than the promised amount, not to mention the fact that I was charged a bank fee of $12 to receive the wire transfer for my own reimbursement! Moreover, this lack of concern was followed-up by an email from Luciano trying to justify why I had not received the promised amount.
While the apartment is nice, be aware that the manager Paolo will try to make extra money off of you and that dealing with the owner is not much better since he felt he needed to cheated us out of 35R$!
We responded to Luciano that he could keep the 35$ since it appears to be one more way for him to make a profit. How pathetic for anyone to stoop to this level. -

The apartment is perfectly located just off Pelourino in a very quiet and beatiful area.
The living room is huge and has a stunning sunset view on the port and the bay. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very comfortable and tidy.
I would definitely recommend this location to anyone who would visit Salvador.
I hope I'll come back soon.

Stunned fornitures and incredible view, a very original mix, in a safe location in front of Museo do Carmo, a five stars hotel.
It's so nice to stay there that you don't need to go outdoor...do it just for listening good music in Pelourinho.
