  We have been coming to OBX for 16years and we were disappointed with many things at Sound adventure.
  -bottom and sides of pool are stained making the pool look less than inviting, we were told that it is stained from the hurricaines ,the pools at the houses on both sides of us are not stained,I am sure that the hurricaine did not just hit this house, so they must have painted them after the hurricaine
  -pool light burned out and the realtor said that the owner had said that they were not replacing it,again pools on both sided were lit up at night to enjoy night swimming-not ours.
  -Rugs throughout the house are filthy.
  -Surf and sound needs to hire cleaning people that are actually going to clean,there was tons of trash under most beds-gross
  -ice maker at bar broken
  -ceiling fans packed with dirt
  -AV equipment not working
  -one laundry room??? Dryer takes hours to dry a load!!!
  -shower curtain liners are Moldy-gross
  -outdoor shower is in the front of the house, with no path to it, you walk out on to the sand/dirt???
  -kitchen was lacking, not well equipped.
  -views are gorgeous, but this house has been abused and the realtor /owner should do a better job!

  An amazing view with a great layout for a large family gathering

  Just got back from a great week on the Outer Banks in Salvo. We stayed at Sound adventure and had a great week! Other than not being able to get into the house until 6pm, and the 3rd floor air struggling to keep up with the heat, our week was great! The view of the sound at all different times of the day was just awesome. The private pier to walk down to the sound was a huge hit and a perfect launching spot for our kayak. We enjoyed the pool (and think it was a salt water system because it was super soft on the skin and hair and very clean without the chlorine smell). The hot tub was very relaxing!
  
  The kitchen table was perfect for a large family... we had 24 people sitting for meals and it was not a problem. The 2 dishwashers were a plus and the multiple refrigerators on each floor was a great help to a large family who brings a weeks worth of food and beverages.
  
  The layout of the rooms on each floor was very nice. The house was very open and no one felt like we were on top of each other- when passing in the halls or all on the top floor for meals.
  
  Having only one washer and dryer was difficult for a house that size and only one area for a stove top made it slightly tricky to cook for 20+ people but we managed.
  The kitchen was stocked fairly well with dishes and cups/glasses. We did need sharp knives tho- none were very sharp :) and we could have used more forks.
  
  Over all, our group really loved this house. We were missing one couple and so next year this house may not be big enough for us but we would certainly rent again. It was one of the very best houses we have rented in the last 10 years.
