  Excellent value and location, quality home, some flaws

  This was an excellent value for the home. We rented during the off-season and got an excellent value for this home. I don't know that I would have been as pleased had I been spending full rate.
  
  The Surf or Sound rental agency is adequate. I wish they were a little more friendly upon check in and when calling about problem,. They are efficient. And the photos are always good about representing what you are getting. In this case, I was pleased with the higher quality construction of the home, but a little disappointed with the quality of the amenities.
  
  -- When we arrived, for instance, both dish washers were full of clean dishes. This meant that the service staff hadn't thoroughly cleaned, so I wondered about what else was left unclean.
  
  Although there are criticisms below, be aware that, for the low off season rate, this was a marvelous home. The below criticisms are mostly for next renters, so you have an idea of what you might need to compensate for.
  
  -- Disappointed with the dishware, cooking equipment and utensils. There are tons of bowls. Tone of rubbermaid. If we had a houseful, there wouldn't have been enough dishes. The cookware was cheap and inadequate. Tried to whip cream but there were no beaters, even though there was an electric beater. The spatulas and ladels were made of cheap materials and inadequate to flip burgers, turn sausge.
  
  -- Don't expect bbq cooking utensils. There are grills, just nothing with which to grill the food. There is nothing to clean the grills with.
  
  -- The cabana is filthy
  
  -- There are two beach chairs in storage and a paltry selection of beach toys. Compared with other rentals we've used, this was disappointing.
  
  -- The dvd player is old so don't expect to be able to play new DVD releses.
  
  -- a ton of board games, a library of VHS tapes for children, no dvds in the library. Disappointing compared toother rentals that go at the same rate.
  
  -- the porch furniture was adequate. There are no rockers, only one table for holding drinks and books, only adirondack chairs and one full lounge chair on deck. More lounge chairs by the pool.
  
  -- the pool only gets morning sun. After 1 p.m. don't expect sunshine.
  
  - Jacuzzi was great.
  
  -- double headed showers - spectacular, though water pressure low, typical in the area
  
  - indoor garden hot tub, nice, though small.
  
  -- beautiful bathroom in master. Roomy, plenty of storage, lighting poor.
  
  -- doors didn't lock properly - e.g., the sliding door on top floor.
  
  -- screens fell out of the pooch door and a window
  
  -- two ovens, two dishwashers, two sinks - but inadequate fridge and freezer. You will have plenty of ways to cook things, just little cold food storage.
  
  -- No disposal. If you are expecting to cook food for a family, be warned: no disposal, which is irritating in a vacation rental.
  
  -- While surf or sound supplies some basics - tissues, paper towel, soap - be aware that the unit supplies nothing which is unusual in my experience. There was one dishcloth, no towels, only a couple of pot holders. No sponges, no scrubbers, no bottle washers. Usually, a rental keeps these things around, so the renters will be encouraged to keep the place clean. Be warned: bring your own and don't count on the rental unit to supply.l
