Looking to explore the Chianti region of Tuscany with all the comforts of home—and more? This estate features two private villas for rent in Tuscany, two swimming pools, sprawling grounds and all the amenities indoors. How is this possible? One of the owners of this accommodation in Tuscany—with whom you'll share the property—is originally American, and she's furnished both villas for rent in Tuscany to American tastes. So relax! Lounge at this Tuscany vacation rental, take a refreshing bike ride to nearby Certaldo [we highly recommend exploring the Pretorio Palace], or take a day trip to Florence and beyond!

[300,000... m2] Enter the estate of this historic 14th century villa via a private gate and find yourself in a garden filled with cypress, pine, and oak trees. There are lemon trees and a covered terrace overlooking vineyards and the valley. Also on the estate you will find several barns [one under renovation in 2006], and an unused underground wine cellar. One third of the remaining land is a nature reserve—a wooded area inhabited by wild pheasants, rabbits, boar, and hedgehogs. Another part of the estate is used for olive tree cultivation, and there is also a resident horse that enjoys free grazing around an ancient Roman fresh water spring. Tenuta dell’Anima is the combination of two separate accommodations on the same estate: Villa Sella and Villa Certaldo. Villa Certaldo is on the east wing of a villa shared by the owners with its own private entrance, barbecue, parking and garden area. It shares a swimming pool [16m x 6m] with the owners. Villa Sella is an independent house with its own private swimming pool [9m x 4m], fenced garden and a spacious covered terrace with a table and chairs for ‘al fresco’ dining. There is a gate between the two private yards that can be opened. There is plenty of parking on the estate. Currently there is a Cantina being built on the property with construction to run until the end July.

Villa Certaldo: The villa has recently been renovated and features a living room, dining room, kitchen and bedrooms equipped with telephone and internet connections. The ground floor of the villa is wheelchair accessible with a downstairs bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom is not wheelchair accessible. This villa sleeps six guests with 3 double bedrooms and 3 en-suite bathrooms.

Villa Sella: This beautiful newly renovated villa sleeps six to seven guests with 3 double bedrooms and four bathrooms. A pathway from a covered terrace leads to the villa’s own private swimming pool [9m x 4m, 1.1m deep].

This Tuscany estate and two villas are located 50 meters off of a paved, lightly traveled country road. A bus stop is only 200 meters away, and the nearest town is Certaldo, at 4 km, which can be reached by car. With a population of about 15,000, Certaldo has all the necessities combined with small-town charm. Pick up groceries or eat out in the modern section and spend the rest of your day exploring Certaldo Alta, the old medieval village. You'll find many merchants selling traditional products such as wine, woven baskets, and ceramics. In July, you may find yourself in the midst of a lively Renaissance festival, complete with street artists, actors, musicians, and more. And don't forget to get your fill of medieval architecture! You can explore the Pretorio Palace or marvel at the profile Certaldo castle cuts across the sky. Like museums? Visit the house of Giovanni Boccaccio [author of the Decameron]. The beaches of Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio are within day-trip distance, along a lovely drive going past Pisa. Day trips will also take you to San Gimignano, Siena, and Florence. For arriving, you may wish to fly into Pisa and take the train directly to Certaldo, where you can rent a car.

  It was extremely comfortable, with all the necessary appliances. The owners are lovely people, who are always available to help. The view of the country side from the dinning room is breathtaking....It was one of the loveliest experiences of my life.
  
  The view, the comfort of home, Internet service, private bathrooms for every bedroom. Large refrigerator, washer and dryer, privacy. Having the owner close by to advise and direct us to special sites.
  
  Needed a car to get to Certaldo. I thought it would be close to a grocery store and train station. I actually thought we were going to be in Certaldo, not Sciano. Very hot during the month of July, although there were fans throughout the house, it was definitely hot...
  
  Certaldo was the closest town, great restaurants, train stations which was easy access to major cities. Coop which is a large grocery store selling every thing from homemade pasta, breads, cheese, wine and liquors...Lots of American products also...

  Great location. The owner was wonderful, very helpful and very attentive. Both homes were extremely comfortable and had everything from hairdryers in every bathroom to VCR's, coffee machines, fire wood, washers dryers, detergent, coffee and on and on!

  Don't miss adorable Certaldo Alto. Two nice grocery stores PAM in Poggibonsi and COOP in Certaldo.
