Description from the owner
Archipettoli is a magnificent country estate, situated between Florence and Siena, with 14 acres of private landscaped gardens is uniquely located as if perched on top of the hill in the middle of the typical Tuscan countryside with its rows of vineyards and groves of olive trees. From its location the villa enjoys a breathtaking, panoramic view, extending on one side to the Appenines towards the Adriatic and on the other side in the direction of the Thyrrenian coast.
Archipettolis oldest part dates back to the 13 century. It belonged to the noble Florentine families of Cavalcanti and Filippo Strozzi the Younger. Confiscated by the 1st...Read more

FarmingtonThe views will leave you speechless
Left on 07/05/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We stayed at this villa in June of 2012 with my 3 children ages 8,11 and 13 and my 60+ year old parents. I booked the villa directly through the owner and it was quite simple. My emails were returned within the same day.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners brothers and caretakers Gionpaulo and Walter. They were extremly nice and very helpful showing us the property. The property is immaculately cared for and maintained. The home is very spacious and has every ammenity needed - linens, washer/dryer, dishwasher, internet, kitchen appliances large and small.
The rooms are large and bright and there is plently space to feel comfortable. Outside there are many areas to relax. A dining area that seats at least 12, a pool area with lounges and chairs, gardens and a wonderfully large pool with outdoor shower.
The vista are amazing and ones I will never forget. There is a view from every room. The villa is located at the end of the road so there is no noise or cars drving by. You truely feel like this is your own little slice of heaven. The pcitures provided on Tripadvisor are exactly what you will find once you arrive.
We also requested to have a cook for 2 nights. This was another amazing experience at Villa archipettoli. She prepared for us a delicious Tuscan meal that could have feed double the number of people and included appetizers, pasta, meats and dessert.
The only one negative I had about this property was that I would have preferred a location that had a little easier access to town and surrounding areas. -

60898Quintessential Italian Experience
Left on 02/19/2012 for a stay in June 2011
In June 2011 our family of four (2 children) joined with our best friends (and their 2 children) for a trip of a lifetime to Italy. We had talked about doing this for over 10 years, and finally made it happen. There was a lot riding on making sure we found the perfect place to stay. Our criteria were that the place would need to be located near Firenze, be upscale but still rustic, have a swimming pool and have plenty of room for the 8 of us. With archipetolli, we found all this and more.
We handled the booking over email with the owner (Valerio), who was very helpful. He answered all of our many questions about the property promptly and in doing so gave us a sense of comfort that this would be a good experience. Valerio emailed us directions, but we also used Google maps, Michelin maps and a GPS to make sure we found the place. It is easy to get lost on these old roads in Italy, where there aren't always street signs. If you are going, plan to find the place during daylight hours, because you're never going to find it for the first time at night -- despite its proximity to Firenze (20-25 min drive), it is still very remote.
Notably, Valerio also lined us up with a local cook, Isabella Campone, who met us there the first evening, with a fully-prepared, home-cooked, full Italian 5 course dinner. It was unbelievable -- we had planned on having Isabella come only one night... we ended up having her cook 3 nights, as nothing could beat her meals.
Archipetolli itself is a very old stone house that has been totally renovated throughout, with upscale bathrooms and beautiful hand-made wooden shutters on each window. The bedrooms have very nice furniture and good mattresses. It has a niced sized kitchen downstairs, four bedrooms on the second floor (plus a lounge/TV room), and another bedroom on the third floor (which also includes a couch an TV). The landscaping is gorgeous and clearly the product of a lot of hard work. The house sits on the peak of the property, with an olive grove sloping down into the eastern valley and a grape vineyard running down the western valley. Surrounding the house are all kinds of different cultivated herbs, shrubs, flowers and fruit trees, including lemon trees and fig trees.
Giampolo is the name of the gentleman who lives (part time) on the property and keeps it looking so beautiful. He met us the first day to provide us the key, translate with Isabella, and help us understand the various aspects of the property. He speaks English quite well, and he could not have been more kind and patient with us as we got settled in. As part of his warm welcome, he even gave us bottles of wine and olive oil that he had made on property, and they were absolutely excellent! It was great to have him there, but he was also clearly very cognizant of giving us our space and privacy. It was a perfect balance.
As a last note, I would mention that within less than a mile of archipettoli, there is a small store that sells everything from fresh eggs and bacon to pasta, wine, cheese, bread, coffee, milk and cereal. Thus, we were easily able to fill the cupboard without worrying about a long drive into the nearest larger town, San Casciano. -

Brussels, BelgiumWe are still talking about how much we loved this place!

We had a fabulous week at archipettoli in Tuscany with our young adult children. The villa is so perfect - rustic and historic but very comfortable. The bedrooms are very large and the two living rooms make it easy to be together or separate if you are traveling with a group of friends. Our host was so gracious and was there if we needed him but very unobtrusive. The kitchen was well equipped and stocked with spices, oil, coffee, sugar, etc. The book in the house gave many suggestions and tips on touring, restaurants, etc. The location was also perfect since we had to pick up our children at the Florence airport - just 30 minutes away. We spent the week touring, bicycling, and enjoying each other's company in the beautiful kitchen as we ate great food and drank great wine. One of the highlights was a pasta making class at Pasta Fresca. We will be back.

Left on 04/12/2011 for a stay in April 2011
Without any doubt archipettoli is one of the most beautiful place in Tuscany we have ever been.
A peaceful place to relax or to explore the heart of Tuscany, perfectly situated between Florence and Siena with incredible views over the unspoiled Landscape.
The house is very well equipped and comfortable. The rooms are large and nicely furnished.
All Rooms were very clean and cosy.
The villa is within short distance of excellent restaurants and a convenience store but you may be tempted to just spend a lot of time at the villa because it is so relaxing and peaceful.Very friendly owner
We would highly recommend this magic place -

Oakland, CaliforniaMarvelous Tuscan Villa That Met all Expectations
Left on 12/20/2010 for a stay in October 2010
I was so daunted by the sheer number of villas to rent in Tuscany I count my lucky stars that the one I selected was perfect!
Located on top of a hill at the end of a country lane, the villa, grounds and views in all directions were quintessential Tuscany without being a cliche. The villa's interior is updated where it counts (bathrooms and appliances) but retained a rustic charm with antique furniture, hand hewn doors and a ginormous oven/fireplace in the kitchen where it was not difficult to imagine former residents several hundred years ago cooking their meals.
Villa was super clean, grounds excellently maintained and correspondence/transaction with the owner a breeze.
Archipetolli's other great advantage was location. A short (but beautiful) ten minute drive to a major highway allows easy visits to Florence, Siena and a host of quaint hill towns.
All of my expectations were met - and more - and all five us in our party had only praise for my choice.
