Casa Rossa is the ideal house for those who want to live and feel Tuscany only 15 to 20 minutes from a free parking in Botai, where a bus can be taken to get to the center of Florence in 20 to 30 minutes.
From Casa Rossa, you can easily travel to Sienna and many other small towns of great interest like San Gimiano.
Casa Rossa is very comfortable for two couples or a family. Is is quiet and offers a magnificient view of surrounding mountains, vineyards and olive trees. The terrace is enchanting with dining table, chairs and BBQ. On the grounds you have access to fresh herbs of different kinds for immediate gastronomic pleasure.
Casa Rossa is located on a vineyard and you are in immediate contact with the owners. Francesco and his mother are simply perfect and for your pleasure, you can buy for a small price locally produced whine and olive oil to bring back home.
Don't miss this spot. We would come back any time.Response from Italy Perfect - 11/08/2012

Wow!!! Casa Rossa was everything and more. We arrived early and after speaking with Franchesco, we were greeted at the villa by his Mom and Dad. Delightful people. Scenery was surreal. Just like the pictures. So beautiful.
Villa is wonderful. Imaculate and well apportioned. We completely fell in love with the villa and the area. We day tripped to so many outstanding towns including the "biggies". Luckily we hit the wine harvest the day we arrived so we got to see the entire process from picking the grapes to final cleanup right from our balcony. What a Bonus!
Once we got used to the roads,(short learining curve)everything exceeded our high expectations.
Italy Perfect was spot on and very helpful in the process and Franchesco was friendly and available if needed by phone.
I have already recommended Italy Perfect and Casa Rossa to a number of friends. Best vacation ever!!!

We had the time of our lives in Casa San Vito in Tuscany. The Villa is beautiful and comfortable. It was very clean and had everything we needed. Its surrondings are just expectacular and the views from our bedroom window just priceless. We usted the Villa as our homeba se and had day trips to the nearby towns; Florence is only 20 minutes away. We also explored Pisa, Luca, Sienna, San Gimigniano, Montepulciano, bagno San Filippi and many other charming towns. Francesco and his mother Franca were very welcoming and kind. Francesco had a wonderful gesture towards my family.
We usted 3 other rental agencies for our 3 week vacation and Lisa at Italy Perfect was by far the most professional of all. She was on top of every single detail, from sending reminders to making sure our expectations were met. Rest asure that by using Italy Perfect you will get your the best of the best and most importantly, peace of mind.

The service was good. We were met within 45 minutes of arriving. Everything was clean and tidy, the appliances worked and the kitchen was well equipped. The location was perfect. Easy day trip to Florence and/or Sienna, and to the ancient town of Volterra. We rented and rode bikes west of San Casciano on another day. The grocery store in San Casciano was well-stocked and enabled us to have lots of flexibility with our meals. The house was quiet and and surrounded by beautiful countryside views. Although it was hot, the screens and windows allowed a nice breeze through the house in the afternoon and evening. One negative was that the window screen in the master bedroom was broken and could not be fixed during our stay, so we had to keep that window closed to keep the mosquitos out. Overall, as a result of our stay here, I feel my family and I have a good knowledge and understanding of Tuscany.

We spent 8 nights at Casa Rossa and it wasn't nearly long enough. It proved to be a perfect location for easy trips into Florence and still have amazing Tuscan countryside all around us. Driving into Florence was a bit daunting at first but we quickly found a few reliable parking garages and even got used to the scooters surging all around us in traffic. Our hosts were wonderful, warm and inviting. They make some of the best chianti we drank, right there.
San Casciano was also very accessible and we had a picture perfect first night dinner at Osteria Cafe'del Popolano. The villa was perfect for us, casual and comfortable and plenty of room for 4. We intend to return as soon as we can. Italy Perfect is definitely worth recommending. Everything was clear and the preparation information was very helpful.
Our only mistake was trying to do too much in too short an amount of time. We wish we had visited more of the surrounding towns but we feel that we really got to experience Florence and that was wonderful. Next trip we will stay longer, slow down a little more and soak in more of Tuscany.

Visiting Tuscany is always a great pleasure but having the opportunity to live in an original farmhouse such as Casa San Vito for a week made the trip to this region truly memorable. The house was charming because it was so well kept, spotless and filled with family heirlooms. One could sense immediately the pride that Francesco, Franca and Julio took in this home. Everything possible was done to make us comfortable and it was marvelous to have so much space. Our trip was enhanced by the personal touches such as gifts of wine from the family winery. The grapes were growing just outside our windows, so we knew exactly where the wine came from! Casa San Vito is central to the Chianti Road, Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano and Florence. We had a wonderful time exploring the neighbourhood as well as the countryside and were rewarded with magnificent views of this amazing country. The views for the framhouse were breathtaking. Franca and Francesco were always willing to give directions and advice on where to go and what to see. Their recommendations provided us with opportunities to see and do things we would not have done on our own. We were fortunate to dine at La Tenda Rossa in Cerbaia and the food was extraordinary. A trip to Radda in Chianti and the town of San Casciano is well worth the time. July is very hot in Italy, but despite the heat, Casa San Vito remained very cool and the large windows which provided a cross draft helped to keep us cool! I would recommend Casa San Vito to anyone who wishes to see Tuscany in a very different way; like a local instead of a tourist. I hope to return again in the near future. An amazing holiday!

Located in picture perfect Chianti country, the villa is an easy ride to all major Tuscan attractions.
It is rustic, but completely comfortable. The feel is of an authentic country retreat. The host family is welcoming and gracious. Casa San Vito is on the grounds of a working vineyard and olive grove and they are generous with thier wines and oils. (Delicious!)
The orientation provided by Italy Perfect is exceptionally thorough, and well worth repeated readings as virtually any and all contingencies are addressed.
This villa does not have the luxury amenities that some travellers require (swimming pool, internet access) but one is well compensated by the serenity and beauty of the location, the comfort of the home and the authenticity of the surroundings. -

We stayed for a week in this fabulous retreat - sleeping the 4 of us very comfortably. We had rented a car (a must) and enjoyed travelling around the Tuscan area. We loved the fact that we were so close to Florence but had this lovely, serene retreat to come back to. Everything was as advertised and we enjoyed a wonderful taste of Italy - enough of a flavour to come back one day.

We had a lovely stay at Casa San Vito. The location proved to be very convenient to Florence, the Chianti region and Sienna. We did a fair amount of cooking at the house, and the kitchen was more than edequate, with plenty of space, cooking utensils and dishes available. The outdoor table and chairs were the perfect setting to enjoy our feasts with wine we had aquired on our daily visits to the surrounding area. Our favorite activities included a cooking school in Florence and visiting all the various small towns and vineyards in Chianti.
Although it was very warm in Italy the week we were there, the temperature at the house was considerably cooler with it's hill top location and breeze. Fans were provided for our bedrooms.
Overall, we had a great week and very good experience with Italy Perfect and Casa San Vito. We would definitely use this service again. -

Casa Rossa is the perfect place to call home while visiting beautiful Tuscany. The villa is very clean, the kitchen has a great gas cook top, and full oven. The most amazing part of the villa is the huge outside terrace, the views are like a picture-breath-taking.
Florence is only about a 25 min ride from the villa, and very easy to get to with a GPS(which I highly recommend). The small town of San Casiano is about 5 mins away. Out of all the places we ate at, by far the meals we at in San Casiano were some of the best.
I highly recommend Casa Rossa. -

From Vrbo, Lisa at Italy Perfect (reservation and information), Francesco and his Mother (owners and hosts), location, price (2 families shared the cost), true TuscanyChianti feel, to proximity to Siena/Florence, if you want to get the feeling that you are an Italian vineyard and olive orchard owner, choose this for your next Italian getaway! You become part of it and it becomes part of you during your stay!
We had a vehicle and would recommend it as a drive around the surrounding countryside visiting some of the small towns along the way is very rewarding and the trip to Siena/Florence is not that far! The driving is easy in the country compared to the need to use public transportation in Rome/Venice.
You can relax at Casa San Vito, or head out for many an adventure, great food, and of course, a Gelato a day! Our weather was mid 80's w/some showers. Heat could be an issue, but wasn't for us. If you need luxury, this might not be your destination, but for a warm and accommodating location on a hillside overlooking the Chianti region, seriously consider Casa San Vito! -

We absolutely LOVED our stay. The accommodations were amazing and
beautiful. I would always suggest going to the large cities first because after

add to any of the restaurants, [the list of recommendations] was amazing. The
location was fabulous and could not have asked for a better location. It was
absolutely breathtaking. I would suggest letting people know that they can
buy more wine and olive oil from Francesco and his family. We were too late
the day we left and I would have loved to have bought more olive oil. It was the
best I have ever had. I would suggest they keep some on hand at the house to

We thoroughly enjoyed our house and location for 5 relaxing days in Tuscany. Francesco was terrific and gave us some helpful guidance of the area. His mother and father were always friendly and gave us a wonderful tour of their winery and some of their great tasting wine. The fig tree in back was a frequent stop for us to pig fresh figs as well as grapes and apples. The closest restaurant, the Fattoria, was where we had our best meal in Italy. They served us a sampler of their different pasta dishes that was great and their meats were very good as well. Both couples agreed that this was our favorite stop in Italy. Casa Rossa was everything we dreamed it would be. This was our first trip to Italy and I cannot imagine that it could be bettered. The villa was perfect for four, two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Nicely appointed kitchen, fantastic fireplace with olive wood to burn. The sitting areas are nicer than they appear in the photos. The ceilings are typical Tuscan beamed - bonus. The terrace. Wow. Over 180 degree views of the countryside, olive groves, vineyards, just stunning. The location half way between Florence and Siena was perfect, loads of smaller towns to go and see too. Certainly would recommend going to any of the markets in the smaller towns - San Casciano, Poggibonsi, Tavarnelle. Favourite restaurant close by is Cantinetta del Nonno in San Casciano - I think on Via Machiavelli - outstanding house wine there too! Francesco and his family looked after us very well without interfering. It was the grape harvest when we were there and they showed us the operations willingly. Complimentary wine and olive oil on our arrival was a lovely welcome. I would rent through Italy Perfect again - good prompt service, thorough instructions and advice.

Our family stayed at Casa San Vito for 9 days and loved every minute. Lisa at ItalyPerfect prepared us very well for the visit and was a great resource. The hosts, Franca and Guilio and their son Francesco, could not have been more welcoming. Francesco speaks English and is a great source of information about Florence and the countryside.
The property is a working farm, with crops just outside the window that included grapes, artichokes and other vegetables, olives, and flowers.
The owners make their own vin santo, wine, and olive oil and are generous to share with guests. The house is modern and spacious with wonderful bathrooms, a large well-equipped kitchen with a great farm table for meals, and spacious living areas, comfortable and beautiful furniture, and fabulous views of the countryside from every window.
Casa Rossa, another ItalyPerfect property, is just across the lawn and is a great choice as well. This is an excellent location for touring this region of Tuscany and Chianti. Take a bus from a nearby town into Florence to avoid the traffic in the city. We also enjoyed day trips to Pisa, the Carrara marble mountains, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Panzano, Greve, and more.
We loved the nearby restaurants and also shopped in local markets and prepared our food at home several nights.
The farm is a working farm so depending on the time of year there may be tractors, etc. in the nearby fields, but one would find this at every agriturismo in the region and having the land's owners there during the day only adds to the charm.
Our family hopes to return to Casa San Vito. -

4th vacation in Italy:
Fabulous kitchen. Huge updated bathroom with tub. Nice 2nd bath with shower. No problems with water or electricity. Very quiet although it is a working olive/wine estate. Wonderful nonna and poppa (son speaks English but has a regular job so not always available- not a big deal since nothing was needed). Shop at COOP in San Casciano for groceries- drive thru Pergolato to Bargino- turn left at stop sign and watch for COOP signs in a few miles. In Bargino, eat fish (yes, fish) at the hotel restaurant on the left. Go on market day to Tavernelle val di Pesa for veggies, fish, meat, and virtually anything else you can think of- eat lunch at Nuvola Rossa on the piazza. With Nuvola Rossa to your right, walk to the corner of the piazza and turn right- look for a small shop on the right with great handmade pasta and a very nice proprietress who made spinach ravioli even though the shop had closed (probably should buy pasta before lunch). Easy drive to Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra and Chianti region. Saw Rick Steves in Volterra entering the Hotel Etruria. Drive through or around Firenze but not in it. Don't miss Siena. Order house wine in all cases. Speak Italiano in order to entertain the Italians.
Back to the villa- dim light bulbs, as in virtually all of Italy; the villa was very cold and heat was not available. For security reasons, you are asked to close windows and shutters when leaving so the daytime sun was unable to warm up the interior. We slept in sweatshirts and wrapped blankets around us during the evenings. But very warm and pleasant in the mornings with the sun entering the kitchen and living room- and on the patio in front. Even though we don't stay in the same place twice, I would definitely recommend it- only the issue with the cold prevented 5 stars- I suspect in the summer this is not a problem.

Unfortunately for these guests it was an unusually cool early May when they stayed at Casa San Vito. Italian law regulates heat usage in order to control national energy consumption. Throughout Italy, by law, the heat cannot be turned on before October 15 or after April 15. There is a working fireplace in the living room which guests may use at any time.

The property is clean and spacious. It is well-located and beautiful. Our stay would have been perfect if it were not so hot! There is no air conditioning so the summer heat was unrelenting. Of course, we had the windows open and every morning VERY EARLY the charming owners of the property were working in the field with their noisy tractors. So, I recommend this property without reservation when the weather is cooler.

Casa Rossa is a gorgeous Tuscan home with fabulous views over its vineyard and the surrounding valleys. It is very well located just outside of Florence and a great base to explore the delights of Tuscany. Francesco is a wonderful host and will ensure that your stay in his Casa is comfortable and an enjoyable one.
Our only issue with Casa Rossa was noise from cars passing on the dirt road located beside the villa and, being a working property, from the farm machinery which disturbed the peace of this beautiful area from time to time. Noise from parties and bands somewhere across the valley also carried to us late at night.
