    Additional Location Information

San Cristóbal de las Casas is a great tourist spot located in the mountainous zone of Chiapas and is encircled by the abundant natural surroundings of the southwest portion of the country.
The city maintains its Spanish colonial layout and much of its architecture, with red tile roofs, cobblestone streets and wrought iron balconies often with flowers. Life in this city has remained suspended in the past and has a distinctive mystical quality. People from the bordering indigenous communities gather for market day to buy and sell food and handmade goods.

San Cristobal de Las Casas city and municipality located in the Central Highlands region of the Mexican state of Chiapas. It is considered to be the cultural capital. This city is considered to be the most original and beautiful in the state. It has a colonial feel that has been preserved over the centuries in its historical and artistic architecture. The Cathedral was built towards the second half of the 17th century with a beautiful baroque façade

Decent apartment in good location. Not what we expected but still value for money on comparison to other apartment. Beautiful town and well worth a visit.

      Agradable

Left on 09/04/2012 for a stay in August 2012

Peaceful, safe & convenient location near San Cristobal Centro

Left on 06/02/2012 for a stay in April 2012

There are 5 apartments ranging from studio to 2 or 3 bedrooms. I stayed upstairs with a lovely balcony, in apt #4 for a month and loved it. Although it's nothing fancy, it had 2 beds, good for a couple + one, with a modestly equipped kitchen complete with stove/oven, a few pans & dishware for 3 plus private bath with shower. It was clean and well-maintained. This unit has an interior location, so no street noises, although they can be interesting and informative. The location was sweet, about 8 blocks or less from the 2 andador (pedestrian) streets and a littler further to the Zocalo. The town is safe so walking home from the jazz cub Dada, or the disco & live rootsy dancing at Cafe Revolution, or any of the fine evening dinner & music dance spots (check out Entropia and the excellent food & ambiance at Cocolitche) was easy, or catch a frequently passing taxi. If your needs are modest, this ample-sized studio apartment will do the trick. And you'll love San Cristobal for nightlife, indigenous crafts (especially amber), international travelers, and clean Mexican living.
